Abstract:Under regular heating or microwave irradiation, 3-alkyl substituted imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines were synthesized from 2,2'-pyridil or di-2-pyridyl ketone and aliphatic aldehydes in the presence of ammonium acetate and acetic acid. Compared to the traditional heating condition, 3-alkyl imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines were obtained with higher yields and shorter reaction time under microwave irradiation. All products were characterized by their H-1 NMR, MS spectra and elemental analysis.

Abstract:A simple, rapid, and highly efficient method has been developed for the aza-Michael addition of acrylonitrile to 2-aryl-oxymethylbenzimidazole derivatives in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate under microwave irradiation. A series novel of 1-cyanoethyl-2-aryloxymethylbenzimidazole derivatives have been prepared and characterised by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR spectra and elemental analysis.

Abstract:A series of 2-substituted indoles 3 were synthesized using substituted aniline 1 and 2-bromoacetophenone 2 as starting materials under microwave irradiation conditions without any catalysts. The reactions were easily worked up with short time and high yields.

Abstract:γ-Carbolines were obtained in a simple one-pot Fischer arting from N-acetyl-3-bromo-4-piperidone hydrobro-reaction starting from N-acetyl-3-bromo-4-piperidone hydrobromide and substituted arylhydrazine hydrochlorides in acidic media under microwave irradiation or by a thermal process. The optimization procedures are reported in detail, and the results from micro-wave processes are compared with conventional ones.

Abstract:A simple and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of 1-substituted-3-(4-chlorobenzo[d]thiazol-2-yl) ureas (5), from substituted aromatic or aliphatic amino compounds and phenyl 4-chlorobenzo[d]thiazol-2-yl carbamate 4 using microwave irradiation without phosgene in good yields. Abstract:2-(3H)Benzothiazolethiones (2-mercaptobenzothiazole) are prepared by an improved method, which utilizes microwave-assisted cyclization of the corresponding ortho-haloanlines with potassium O-ethyl dithiocarbonate. By using microwave irradiation, the relative reactivity of 2-chloroanilines was greatly improved to the same level as that of 2-fluoroanilines and 2-bromoanilines.

Abstract:Condensation of aromatic aldehydes with cyclopentanone and cyclohexanone using amino-functionalized ionic liquid, 1-aminoethyl-3-methyl tetrafluoroborate as solvent and catalyst was successfully performed for preparation of alpha,alpha'-bis(substituted benzylidene)cycloalkanones. The catalyst can be recovered and reused for at least three times without apparently lose of activity. The process is simple, environmentally benign and proceeds in excellent yields.

Abstract:A condition-controlled strategy for selectively synthesis of 2-acylbenzothiazoles and bibenzo[b][1,4]thiazines from aryl methyl ketones and disulfanediyldianilines was realized using I2/DMSO or I2/MeCN systems, respectively. The desired products were synthesized in only 15 min with moderate to excellent yields (50%-90%) under microwave-assisted, metal-free conditions. The strategy provides a great advantage for selective synthetic applications in the efficient synthesis of benzothiazoles and bibenzothiazines heterocycle compounds.
