Abstract:The quality of yak cashmere is good,it is natural textile material.Its fiber is shorter and relatively coarse,so it is harder to spinning fine yarn with yak cashmere.This paper based on the characteristics of yak cashmere,used raw yak cashmere and slenderizing yak cashmere to spinning five yarn by semi-worsted spinning and worsted spinning process,there are raw yak cashmere semi-worsted yarn of 16.7 tex slenderizing yak cashmere semi-worsted yarn of 15.6 tex yak raw cashmere worsted yarn of 13.5 tex slenderizing yak cashmere worsted yarn of 10.9 tex and slenderizing yak cashmere /yak raw cashmere worsted yarn of 10.9 tex.Experiment showed that yak cashmere can be used to process fine yarn and light product,slenderizing can improve the quality of yak cashmere effectively and increase its spinnability,yak cashmere can be used widely.

Abstract:This work aims at research on characterization of Wrightia tinctoria fiber, such as fiber content, fiber longitudinal view, cross-sectional view, fiber diameter, moisture content, SEM analysis, surface resistivity, swelling, and also mechanical properties of fiber, such as fiber strength, elongation, linear density, etc. The fiber was used to produce carded webs using the pilot carding machine from blends of Wrightia tinctoria fiber (W) with cotton (C), bamboo (B), and polyester (P) in the blend ratios of 25:75 and 50:50 for required GSM. The produced webs were bonded using spunlace bonding technique to produce required non-woven medical apparel. The produced nonwoven were tested for dressing mass and thickness, absorbency of wound dressing, the dehydration rate of dressing, wettability, vertical wicking, air permeability, potential of hydrogen, water vapor permeability, and anti-bacterial. The test results of the studies were investigated in detail and observed that the product development from Wrightia tinctoria fiber has immense potential for curing various skin diseases as revealed from the test results.

Abstract:The structure and physico-mechanical properties of Canabinus sativa L . fibre from a specific agro-climatic region of India were thoroughly studied. The fine structure of the fibre was examined by FTIR, TGA, XRD, component analysis, and SEM. SEM shows heterogeneous morphology with prominent longitudinal ridges having cracks and surface impurities. XRD shows a moderate degree of crystallinity (49%) but sharp peaks indicating the presence of an appreciable amount of cellulose matter. FTIR reveals the presence of large quantities of hydroxyl and aldehyde along with phenolic groups. The fine structure of European hemp fibre was compared with the Indian hemp fibres. Component and thermal analyses indicate the presence of hemicellulose and cellulose as major constituents along with lignin. The breaker carded fibre shows that hemp is longer, finer, lighter, stronger, more extensible, more flexible, and has lower crystalline fibre than jute. Its colour value is also better than that of jute. Hemp yarn is better than jute yarn, especially in bulk, flexibility, elongation, and modulus. Blended yarn is better in strength and work of rupture but inferior in hairiness. Studies show that hemp fabric has better properties than jute fabric, especially in terms of flexibility, bulk, and strength. A jute processing system may be a very good option for hemp fibre and can be used to make jute blended yarn and 100% hemp yarn for apparel and furnishing grade fabric with better functional properties.

Abstract:Purpose Through the tracer fiber method, we strive to more accurately obtain the hook degree, straightening degree, percentage and other characteristic indexes. In order to intuitively represent the hook state from sliver to yarn, and feed back production information in combination with quality test. Design/methodology/approach Taking the cotton fiber as an example, the hooked fibers were studied by using the tracer fiber method. Tracer fibers were made from cotton-type viscose fibers. Tracer fibers and combed cotton fibers were uniformly mixed for many times and used to produce the card sliver, semi-drawn sliver, drawn sliver, roving and yarn. With the help of ZF-20D ultraviolet analyzer, geometric parameters of hooked fibers were measured, and characterization indexes were calculated. And hook indexes and quality indexes were compared. Findings By redefining and reclassifying hooked fibers, the change of hooked fibers in the process was tracked and characterized carefully. Some hooks in card sliver are straightened but not eliminated, and will form longer zero-angled hooks in the subsequent process. The straightening degree and number of zero-angled hooks affect the evenness CV mainly. Originality/value The characterization of hooked fibers is important for reducing hooked fibers and spinning high quality yarns. There is no uniform standard for the characterization of hooked fibers at present. Most studies are about relationship between process and hook in carding and drawing. There is no research on hooked fibers in the whole spinning process. In the paper, hooked fibers were redefined and reclassified, the change of hooked fibers in the process was tracked and characterized carefully.
