Abstract:Andrena (Poecilandrena) chengtehensis (Hymenoptera: Andrenidae) was originally described in the male by K. Yasumatsu from Chengde city, Hebei Province, near Beijing in 1935. Tadauchi et al. (1997) transferred this species from the subgenus Poecilandrena into Lepidandrena and synonymized A. (Lepidandrena) lebedevi Popov with this species. The subgenus Lepidandrena Hedicke is characterized by narrow facial fovea, separated from inner margin of eye by broad punctate space; a tall vertex; the pronotum without humeral angle and ridge; the mesoscutum and scutellum with dense, velvety hairs; a well developed propodeal corbiculae, with simple internal hairs, and without anterior fringes; well developed tibial scopae with long, simple hairs; three submarginal cells in the forewing, closely punctate metasomal terga with velvety hairs; the posterior depression of terga well indicated; and in male a yellow clypeus; the vertex and mesoscutum with deep, crowded punctures; the metasomal sternae with complete subapical fimbriae; and sternum 6 flat, not reflected apically. Species of this subgenus are restricted to the palearctic region. Diagnosis of gynandromorphic A. (Lepidandrena) chengtehensis
