Abstract:Increasing amount of commercial data is presented in XML format for exchanging or publishing on the web. It is emerging as a new standard for information representation and exchanging over the Internet. How to retrieve valuable information from XML documents on the web is a new challenge to data mining research. Compared with relational database, XML data in documents is stored as file with tree logical structure inside, it results in lower efficiency and performance in directly querying data. So it is still necessary to transform data into database (warehouse) for data mining afterwards. In this paper, we present a scheme to analyze relation of elements in XML on the web, and construct relational database schema based on the analysis. During the process, there would be a worthy accessory product - a glossary, which can facilitate the process of data mining warehouse designing and building. © 2006 IEEE.

Abstract:XML has established itself as the standard for representing data and the standard for transmitting data on the Internet.To make up XML's deficiency in storage,at present,it's necessary to do research on XML storage technology based on relational databases.This paper firstly introduces several methods on set-up database schema,then presents an improved method by an XML-RDB example.It is compact in structure,has higher SQL inquire effectiveness according to RDB which is built by the improved method.The method resolved the key problems in the relational storage.

Abstract:Nowadays, swirling around most businesses is not structure information but semi-structure information, such as spreadsheets, and documents created by an individual or company. However, in spite of success of data management of structure data by using databases, current enterprise information infrastructure is poorly suited for dealing with the continuing, rapid explosion of semi-structure data in enterprise. In this paper we discuss a system based on the integration between XML and RDB in a three- tiered framework, which undertakes research at the intersection of XML and RDB, exploits their strengths in a common framework, and expands their applicability in the area of semi-structure data management. Through a discussion of the fundamental architecture in general and its components in particular, we depict the basic principles that should form the basis for the design of the architecture based on the integration of XML and RDB. The key contribution of this paper is the framework for semi-structure data management, which is orchestrated through the transformation of representation, query and updating between XML data and RDB data.

Abstract:As a standard for data exchanging in the network,XML data is increasing in highly speed.It becomes very eagerly to manage the XML data via RDBMS.In this paper,a middleware implement framework of XML data management is proposed,with utilizing some special mapping methods,parsing the schema files,and then producing the corresponding relational schemas to store and manage XML data in a RDBMS.Users can operate the XML data by XML operations without awaring of anything about the RDBMS.This framework is easy to be extended in the future because of its flexible structure.

Abstract:As an international standard of data exchange over the Web,XML has penetrated virtually all fields of Internet application.How to transform XML document with relational database is an important(research) topic.In this paper,transformation between XML document and relational database by XML DTD(technology) was analyzed,the differences between XML DTD and XML scheme were compared,and the mapping method from XML schema to database schema was proposed.With analyzing the method of mapping XML Schema to Object Schemas and Object Schema to Database Schemas.We can obtain the method of mapping XML Schema to Database Schemas directly.The mapping approach of large grained(data) and(Data-centric) Document to relational databases has be especially emphasized.The new method can effectively enhance the transformation efficiency between XML and relational database.

Abstract:As an increasing amount of XML-based applications appears today, reliable and efficient XML storage system and data exchange between XML and DBMS are becoming more and more important. The method of schema-driven mapping between XML and RDBMS is discussed and its basic principles and examples are given. The design and implementation of a schema-driven data exchange system are analyzed and implemented that is platform-independent and supports multiple schemas and modes of conversion. The test result of the prototype of the system shows that the theory and design of this system is feasible and effective.

Abstract:Nowadays, swirling around most businesses is not structure information but semi-structure information, such as spreadsheets, and documents created by an individual or company. To fully manage and use semi-structure information as structure information does, we propose a technology based on the bi-directional integration between XML and RDB in a three-tiered structure. Through undertaking research at the intersection of XML and RDB, the technology expects to represent and use semi-structure information based on XML, and manage semi-structure information using RDB. Bi-directional means that we transform semi-structure data represented by XML into RDB and oppositely publishing RDB data into corresponding XML format based on schema mapping between XML and RDB, which is the first tier named static transformation tier in the three-tired structure. On the basis of static transformation tier, we transform semi-structure data query, i.e. query on XML from user interface into SQL on the corresponding bottom RDB and return back the result data in XML format, which is the second tier named dynamic query tier. At last, synchronous updating for the virtual XML and bottom RDB is carried out as the third tier named synchronous updating tier. All the three tiers' integration is realized through the middleware, which is also offered in this paper

Abstract:Traditional data mining is based on relational database,XML(extensible markup language) technology has become as a standard for representing and exchanging information in a short period of time,a new data mining method is provided,the decision tree and XML technologies is introduced,as well as XML-based data mining basic process of the study.Then a novel model of the decision tree analysis based on the XML database is presented.Finally,through an example how to use this model for data mining is illustrated,and the direction of future research in the decision tree is pointed out.

Abstract:With the XML emerging, the database technology based on XML becomes a research hotspot issue. The existing tools of database design only consider the design of the relational database or the 00 database, but dont consider the XML-oriented functions, i.e. the function that design the XML documents. In order to make up for the deficiency of the existing tools, we address E-R model and DTD, which is the schema of XML, and propose the ER-DTD method, i.e. the conversion method from E-R model to DTD. The ER-DTD method complete the XML documents design, so it append the XML-oriented function to the database-design tool. Our method is not only applied to design the XML documents in the database-design tool, but also in many aspects.
