Abstract:Although XML is a special markup language for Internet,it has been become the standard for data representation and exchange on Internet.With the emergence of a lot of XML documents,how to manage and query them effectively has been become a hotspot for database researchers.This paper discusses and analyzes the status quo and trend of XML database research,and gives the evaluating to the open and challenging problems in XML database research.
