Two Empirical Turns of Philosophy of Technology and their Problems

Abstract:Based on the dualist conceptual framework of"Technology-Society",two types of empirical turn were identified as"Empirical Turn".However,there is the ineradicable risk of departure between these two types of modern philosophy of technology that developed according to these two empirical turns.In this paper,"Technology-Society"is transformed from macroscopic level to microscopic level based on the perspective of the internal approach of philosophy of technology.Then,it gets the new understandings about two types of the empirical turn and the philosophy of technology by the steps of objectification,departure and coherence of the transformation method of the dualist conceptual framework.Such understandings explain that the two types of modern philosophy of technology,on the one hand,will develop their research independently to each other and,on the other hand,will not only remove the risk of departure but also support to each other.
