Abstract:PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) is successfully applied in Huzhou Central Hospital, and is well integrated with its HIS system by WEBSERVICE middleware. The system supports DICOM 3.0 Standard, and DICOM gateways are installed for modalities that do not support DICOM so as to have implemented the digitalization of all the image departments in the hospital.

Abstract:This paper considers the actual needs of the hospital for data storage and the characteristics of the Hadoop framework, builds a clinical data center using Hadoop, Hive and so on which are widely used in modern society. This new clinical data center overcomes the shortcomings of traditional Unix servers, meets the hospital demand for data storage and provides Cloud Computing platform. First, this paper describes the current trends of hospital clinical data center. Then the paper describes the design of clinical data center with EMR and PACS and realizes the storage of structured data and unstructured data.

Abstract:The idea behind hospital information systems is to make all of a patient's medical reports, lab results, and images electronically available to clinicians, instantaneously, wherever they are, But the higgledy-piggledy evolution of most hospital computer systems makes it hard to integrate all these clinical records. Although several integration standards had been proposed to meet this challenge, none of them is fit for hospitals in China. This paper introduces our work of implementing a three-tiered architecture enterprise viewer in Huzhou Central Hospital to integrate all existing medical information systems using limited resource.

Abstract:The archives management and transmission of medical images which are the key technologies of PACS are studied.Based on the DICOM standard,a three-tier medical image database system is builded.The system realized effective query,on-line display and long-range transmission of medical images with FTP transport protocols.The research work offered a technical support for telemedicine and had certain value on the constructing of modern digital hospital.

Abstract:Huadong hospital in Shanghai with 700 beds provides health care services for inpatients and outpatients, as well as special senior and VIP patients. In order to move to digital imaging based radiology practice, and also provide better intra-hospital clinical services for senior and VIP patients, we started designing and planning PACS implementation from September of 1999. Based on the radiology service model and current workflow in Huadong hospital, we implemented PACS in following steps: In phase I, we designed PALS infrastructure and implemented PACS networks connecting to most digital modalities, reading rooms and clinical buildings, we also built NT-based module PALS for every kind of digital imaging modality with DICOM communication capability. In phase II, we developed an UNIX based PACS central server connecting to the individual module PACS for image routing, querying and retrieving among different departments and modality sections, and also installed specially designed interactive teleconsultation display workstations in radiology sections and clinical departments for consultation services. In phase III, we will integrate RIS into PACS infrastructure to optimize PACS dataflow and improve radiology workflow to achieve better performance and more efficient services. In this presentation, we will also discuss the PACS design strategies and implementation methods in Huadong hospitals to decrease the risks and to increase the positive responses from the partners and end users.

Abstract:To build a PACS and three-dimensional medical imaging system using open-source software,provides a kind of low-cost PACS/RIS implement solution for hospitals,or an useful complement to the existing HIS system.The integration of three open-source software DCM4CHEE,Oviyam and Osirix in a heterogeneous operation system network is illustrated in this paper.And the network transmission and visualization of various modalities of image data,including large MDCT and MRI datasets are validated.It turns out that the realtimeness and reliability of the system can meet the application requirement such as medical education,research,statistics,et al.

Abstract:With the increase in demand for high quality medical services, the need for an innovative hospital information system has become essential. An improved system has been implemented in all hospital units of the Yonsei University Health System. Interoperability between multi-units required appropriate hardware infrastructure and software architecture. This large-scale hospital information system encompassed PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications Systems), EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). It involved two tertiary hospitals and 50 community hospitals. The monthly data production rate by the integrated hospital information system is about 1.8 TByte and the total quantity of data produced so far is about 60 TByte. Large scale information exchange and sharing will be particularly useful for telemedicine applications.

Abstract:Medical homogenization in multi-campus hospital plays an essential role in leveraging the advantages of public hospitals, promoting the expansion of high-quality medical resources and balancing regional layout. The Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine deeply used digital intelligence technology to build a new integrated mobile health service system consisting of internet hospital and 5G intelligent applications, which empowered medical efficiency in multi-campus hospital. This system broke the limitations of inconsistent medical resources, unbalanced discipline layout, and insufficient information connectivity in the construction of multi-campus hospitals, and achieved remarkable results in practice. It could provide reference for the multi-campus construction of other large public hospitals.

Abstract:Huadong hospital in Shanghai with 800 beds provides health care services for inpatients and outpatients, as well as special senior and VIP patients. In order to move to digital imaging based radiology practice, and also provide better intra-hospital consultation services for senior and VIP patients, we started to implement PACS for hospital wide services from 1999, and also designed and developed an automatic monitoring system (AMS) to monitor and control PACS operation and dataflow to decrease the total cost of ownership for PACS operation. We installed the AMS on top of the Huadong Hospital PACS in the May of 2001. The installation was painless, did not interrupt the normal PACS operation, and took only one month. The PACS administrators with the AMS can now monitor and control the entire PACS operation in real time, and also track patient and image data flow automatically. These features make administrators take proper action even before user's complaint if any failure happened in any PACS component or process, they reduce the size of the management team, and decrease total cost of PACS ownership.

Abstract:Objective This article, by implementation and evaluation of a monitoring programme in PACS system, brings forward and discusses the issues of database security, which have to pay much attention to when integrating a PACS. Methods Our PACS system has been mostly integrated by a controller server (Fire V480, SUN Corp.) and a SCSI RAID (redundant array of inexpensi\e disks. RAID) of 800GB. The different imaging modalities have been connected to the PACS server by using a star topology. Image display workstations have been connected to the PACS server by a bus topology through switch equipments. A special web server has been linked to display workstations (personal computers) as our RIS system, whose database is directly controlled by the PACS server. Security monitoring for database utilizes images workflow and runs monitoring programme-'PACSMON', which can monitor the workflow and the use of images. Security monitoring for text files (diagnostic reports) has been performanced by monitoring the database flow of RIS system. Results After 10 months running of our PACS system, the PACSMON has perfectly showed acts of querying and retrieving of images on the whole. and monitored working status of any display workstations on real time. Especially for the acts of querying and retrieving, the PACSMON can accurately show the location of display workstations and the quantity. frequency of querying and retrieving, and has effectively controlled the system to be attacked and the images to be stolen. Conclusions The operating management of PACS must resolve some following problems:1.the security of system running; 2. the security of system database; 3.the security of images and files content; 4.the lose of database transmitted.
