Abstract:Objective To observe the changes of cardiac troponin T(cTnT) and myocardial enzymes before and after radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) and estimate the sensitivity of cTnT in minor myocardial damage(MMD). Methods One hundred and twenty patients with a variety of arrhythmias undergoing RFCA were included in the study.Atrial and peripheral blood samples were taken for measuring the concentrations of cTnT and myocardial enzymes before and at 0, 24, 48h after RFCA. Results cTnT levels in atrial and peripheral blood were not different significantly before and after ablation (P005).cTnT levels in the atrial and peripheral blood were significantly increased after RFCA(P005).Immediately after ablation, cTnT level in peripheral blood was the highest, which at 48h after ablation was not significantly different from that before ablation. Myocardial enzymes including AST, LDH, CK were slightly increased after RFCA. Conclusion RFCA may result in MMD. cTnT examination is more sensitive than myocardial enzymes.
