After and Beyond "Polyphony","Dialogism","Carnivalesque"——New Progress in Bakhtin Research in China

Abstract:Some Keywords in Bakhtin literary theory,such as "polyphony","dialogism","carnivalesque",and some core categories,such as "polyphony phenomenon","participative","exotopy",have already been contemporary Chinese scholars' primary discourse in literal studies and even in humanities studies.In these several decades,as literary theorist Bakhtin's "Polyphony theory",as philosopher his "Dialogism theory",and as cultural expert his "Carnivalesque theory" have been introduced gradually,and we made exposition and application actively.We apply his theories to interpretation of foreign literary works as well as to interpretation of Chinese literary works,and to construction of literature itself as well as to the self-examination of methodologies in humanities such as aesthetics and philosophy,all of which have made great achievements.After and beyond the introduction of "polyphony","dialogism" and "carnivalesque",we concentrate on the exploration of "Dialogism theory",expand the contextual consideration of Bakhtin's theories,ponder the inspiration for literary studies and even for methodologies in humanities provided by Bakhtin's theories in multi-dimensions,and push forward continuously with Bakhtin research--an important theory resource in contemporary Chinese literary studies and even in humanities studies.
