Abstract:The voice coil motor has been applied widely as a linear actuator to generate forces with direct drive, fast response time, simple structure, etc.In order to maximize its performance, considering the principle of economy and performance, an architecture based on micro-controller and various analog circuit modules is proposed in the design of the driver.The micro-controller circuit, H full-bridge driving circuit, current measurement circuit, rectifier and filter circuit and various protection circuits are designed.By simulation and experimental results, the validity of the driver is verified successfully.

Abstract:Asynchronous motor has an extensive application in manufacture. The efficiency is quite low when the motor is running under the rated load. Dynamically adjusting the terminal voltage of the motor according to the change of the load can greatly reduce the consumption, and thus improve the efficiency. This paper provides design of the soft start energy-saving controller of motor, which can be used in energy-saving, soft start and running protection. The controller needs a low cost in hardware, but the function is powerful. This paper proposes the software and hardware design scheme of the controller.

Abstract:Soft starter technology is advantageous to the improvement and the control of the startup proce-dure of asynchronous motor. The features of each kind of soft-start method were analyzed and compared in de-tail. Solid soft starter was realized on the bases of thyristor series technology and the torque control strategy. Through a 3 kW motor's simulation,the soft starter with torque control technology can greatly reduce the dy-namic torque and starting current. The performance is able to good control the startup procedure of asyn-chronous motor.

Abstract:This paper describes a soft starting control strategy for synchronous motors fed by load-commutated inverters (LCI). At low speed, high frequency (HF) current injection method is employed to obtain rotor position. When the motor speed reaches 5% of the rated motor speed, zero-crossing detection of back electromotive force (EMF) is adopted to monitor rotor position. According to the rotor position, SCRs can exactly be triggered at the right time to regulate inverter. Meanwhile, there is a transition between forced commutation mode at low speed and load commutation mode at medium and high speed. Then the soft start of synchronous motor, namely motor operates from standstill to rated speed, and grid-connection without negative impacts can be realized finally. The feasibility of the proposed control strategy is validated on a 15kW LCI-fed synchronous motor.

Abstract:This paper proposes a new optimum design method of switched reluctance motors (SRM) based on direct instantaneous torque control (DITC) algorithm. The total copper losses minimization of the motor has been investigated through adjusting of the stator pole arc and rotor pole arc in order to improve the efficiency of the motor. Meanwhile, the torque ripple can be limited within a range because of the use of DITC control method. This optimal method is processed combining the FET and MATLAB simulation. The simulation comparisons are also presented on a 12/8 switched reluctance motor to validate the proposed control scheme.

The total copper losses minimization of the motor has been investigated through adjusting of the commutation in order to improve the efficiency of the motor. An optimal algorithm has been used to determine the proper commutation path at each operation point. The proposed method extends the low loss commutation control strategy to achieve efficient operation in a wide range of speed. The simulation comparisons are also presented on a 12/8 switched reluctance motor to validate the proposed control scheme.

Abstract:The paper adopted the TMS320LF2407A micro-processor to design the power conversion circuit, over-current protection circuit and fault detection circuit for 36 kW 12/8 pole switched reluctance motor by studying its control system.According to the requirement of control effect for switched reluctance motor, the paper also designed the double close loop speed regulation control structure.In addition, speed loop of doub-le close loop speed regulation control adopted the fractional order PI regulator.The control program design of phase current chopping control and current regulator control were elaborated mainly in this paper.The de-signed system improves the stability and reliability by considering the hardware and soft ware.

Abstract:The comprehensive control scheme for the starting and running of asynchronous motor is presented. The asynchronous motor soft_starter controlled by single_chip microcomputer is used as a controller, and double_action thyristor as voltage adjusting element. It includes soft_starting, saving_energy and protective techniques. When the load of an asynchronous motor is less than rating or nothing, it varies the value amplitude of Stator_winding voltage, reducing the loss, and enhancing the efficiency. The soft_starter and energy_saving for an asynchronous motor are analyzed. The efficiency is verified by simulation.

Abstract:Direct starting method of asynchronous motor does a lot harm such as current surge and mechanical shock, etc . In order to reduce the harmful influence of direct starting method and improve the starting performance of asynchronous motor, a scheme of asynchronous motor soft starting system based on antiparallel SCR is designed in this paper. Firstly, it analyzes the starting performance of asynchronous motor. Secondly, based on the performance results above, the scheme of three-phase asynchronous motor soft starting system is established. It regulates stator voltage of the motor by SCR regulating system, transformers the synchronous phase voltage to wide pulse wave by trigger module and obtains thyristor gate signal by integrator, so as to achieve the soft-start of asynchronous motor. Finally, by comparing and analyzing the simulation results of direct starting system and soft starting system, it shows that the feasibility and advantages of the SCR type's asynchronous motor soft starting system.

Abstract:In this paper, a load-capacity improvement control strategy for the soft-start process of electric excitation synchronous motor driven by load commutated inverter (LCI) is proposed. In many electrical drive applications, it is important to increase the load capacity of the motor during the start-up stage. By analyzing the basic principle of LCI driving synchronous motor operation, comparing the torque and speed characteristics of two modes of constant commutation lead angle and constant commutation margin angle, it is verified that the constant commutation margin angle control mode has stronger load capacity. The control model of LCI-Fed synchronous motor soft start is built in Matlab/Simulink, and the corresponding experiment is carried out based on this model. Finally, the simulation results are verified on the 15kw synchronous motor platform.

Abstract:The Because of the restriction of SCR withstand-voltage for the middle-voltage (3KV~10KV) induction motor, although it is solved by SCR connection in series, SCR parameters will change after using some period of time, which make SCR performance of voltage-equalizing lower. The paper introduces a new type middle-voltage soft starter based on the on-off transformer. The starting performance of the soft starter is fully analyzed by experiment and simulation in the paper. The control method of eliminating the torque pulsation is produced and the soft starting control of the constant current is realized. According to the test on site, the big-power high-voltage induction motor can start steadily and reliably with the new type soft starter. Abstract:The large starting current of asynchronous motor may bring about great impact to electric network.According to the analysis of power factor characteristic in asynchronous motors,this paper brings forward a closed-loop control method using the power factor angle as the feedback variable of the system,avoiding the vibration of electromagnetic torsion and currents by variation of input-voltage during the starting process of motors.The above strategy ensures the voltage regulation according to the expected rules.The experiment results prove the availability of the method.

Abstract:This paper describes a novel topology of soft starter for induction motors. Unlike the thyristerized soft starter, the proposed circuit configuration utilizes the self-commutated device to replace the thyristor as the switch on the supply line. The operating principle of the control system is analyzed. The transient process during starting has been studied using a presented mathematical model which is general enough to simulate most of the ac chopper control system as applied to induction motors. The dynamic performance of starting current and torque pulsations can be improved by the simple control strategy, which is the duty cycle of switches is regulated by PI controller. The experimental setup, which is realized with a controller based on the DSP, is presented. The corresponding experimental results obtained for a squirrel-cage induction motor prove the validity of the proposed soft starter.

Abstract:Soft start with thyristor ac dc ac converter is a dominant starting method of large capacity synchronous motors at present. Constant lead angle control is replaced by constant margin angle control to reduce start current and start time. Some key problems in constant margin angle digital control system were analyzed such as stability, rotor position signal forming and control of inverter and excitation, also their solutions were presented. Motor parameters obtained with on line identification were used to calculate the lead angle, thus its accuracy was raised. A digital control system of a 7.8MW synchronous motor soft start was set up. Both analysis and operation show that the constant margin anlge control is an effective way to lower start current and shorten start time.
