Abstract:By assuming certain local energy estimates on (1+3)-dimensional asymptotically flat space-time, we study the existence portion of the Strauss type wave system. Firstly we give a kind of space-time estimates which are related to the local energy norm that appeared in [13]. These estimates can be used to prove a series of weighted Strichartz and KSS type estimates, for wave equations on asymptotically flat space-time. Then we apply the space-time estimates to obtain the lower bound of the lifespan when the nonlinear exponents p and q >= 2. In particular, our bound for the subcritical case is sharp in general and we extend the known region of (p, q) to admit global solutions. In addition, the initial data are not required to be compactly supported, when p, q > 2.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper we will study the dynamics of the periodic asymmetric oscillator xʺ + q+(t)x+ + q–(t)x– = 0, where q+; q– ∊ L1(ℝ / 2πℤ) and x+ = max(x; 0), x– = min(x; 0) for x ∊ ℝ. It will be proved that the exponential growth rate does exist for each non-zero solution x(t) of the oscillator. The properties of these rates, or the Lyapunov exponents, will be given using the induced circle di®eomorphism of the oscillator. The proof is extensively based on the Denjoy theorem in topological dynamics and the unique ergodicity theorem in ergodic theory.
On the Structure of Periodic Eigenvalues of the Vectorial $p$-Laplacian

Abstract:In this paper we will solve an open problem raised by Manásevich and Mawhin twenty years ago on the structure of the periodic eigenvalues of the vectorial $p$-Laplacian. This is an Euler-Lagrangian equation on the plane or in higher dimensional Euclidean spaces. The main result obtained is that for any exponent $p$ other than $2$, the vectorial $p$-Laplacian on the plane will admit infinitely many different sequences of periodic eigenvalues with a given period. These sequences of eigenvalues are constructed using the notion of scaling momenta we will introduce. The whole proof is based on the complete integrability of the equivalent Hamiltonian system, the tricky reduction to $2$-dimensional dynamical systems, and a number-theoretical distinguishing between different sequences of eigenvalues. Some numerical simulations to the new sequences of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions will be given. Several further conjectures towards to the panorama of the spectral sets will be imposed.

Abstract:We construct an integer-valued Lyapunov function $\sigma(\cdot)$ for generalized negative cyclic feedback system; and prove that $\sigma(\cdot)$ on any $\omega$-limit set which generated by Poincaré mapping of bounded solution of such strongly $2$-cooperative system is constant. Therefore, the $\omega$-limit can be continuously embedded into a compact subset of a two-dimensional plane. Finally, a dissipative condition is given to ensure that all orbits of such system are bounded.

Abstract:Firstly, we propose a concept of uniformly almost periodic functions on almost periodic time scales and investigate some basic properties of them. When time scale T = R or Z , our definition of the uniformly almost periodic functions is equivalent to the classical definitions of uniformly almost periodic functions and the uniformly almost periodic sequences, respectively. Then, based on these, we study the existence and uniqueness of almost periodic solutions and derive some fundamental conditions of admitting an exponential dichotomy to linear dynamic equations. Finally, as an application of our results, we study the existence of almost periodic solutions for an almost periodic nonlinear dynamic equations on time scales.

Abstract:This paper delves into the asymptotic and oscillatory behavior of all classes of solutions of fourth-order nonlinear neutral delay differential equations in the noncanonical form with damping terms. This research aims to improve the relationships between the solutions of these equations and their corresponding functions and derivatives. By refining these relationships, we unveil new insights into the asymptotic properties governing these solutions. These insights lead to the establishment of improved conditions that ensure the nonexistence of any positive solutions to the studied equation, thus obtaining improved oscillation criteria. In light of the broader context, our findings extend and build upon the existing literature in the field of neutral differential equations. To emphasize the importance of the results and their applicability, this paper concludes with some examples.

Asymptotic Behavior Of Solutions For Systems Of Periodic Reaction-Diffusion Equations In Unbounded Domains

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study the asymptotic behavior of the time-dependent solutions to a coupled system of reaction-diffusion equations with periodic coefficients in unbounded domains, including the whole space R-n, the exterior Omega(e) of a bounded domain and the half-space R-+(n) = {x = (x(1), . . . , x(n)) is an element of R-n; x(n) > 0}, under Dirichlet boundary conditions. It is shown that if the reaction function in the system possesses a mixed quasi monotone property and the corresponding periodic system has a pair of coupled upper and lower solutions then the periodic system has a pair of quasi-solutions and the sector between the quasi-solutions is an attractor of the system of periodic reaction-diffusion equations. Under some additional conditions this attractor leads to the asymptotic stability of a periodic solution for the periodic system. The approach to the problem is based on the method of upper and lower solutions, a ladder argument and a bootstrap technique. Finally, a competitor-competitor-mutualist model is given to illustrate the obtained results.

Abstract:In this paper we study the dynamical behavior of the differential equationx″+ax+−bx−=f(t), where x+=max⁡{x,0}, x−=max⁡{−x,0}, a and b are two different positive constants, f(t) is a real analytic almost periodic function. For this purpose, firstly, we have to establish some variants of the invariant curve theorem of planar almost periodic mappings, which was proved recently by the authors (see [11]). Then we will discuss the existence of almost periodic solutions and the boundedness of all solutions for the above asymmetric oscillation.
Dynamic properties of a class of van der Pol-Duffing oscillators

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of bifurcation of a van der Pol-Duffing oscillator with quintic terms and its quasi-periodic solutions by means of qualitative and bifurcation theories. Firstly, we analyze the autonomous system and find that it has two kinds of local bifurcations and a global bifurcation: pitchfork bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation, homoclinic bifurcation. It is worth noting that the disappearance of the homoclinic orbit is synchronized with the emergence of a large limit cycle. Then, by discussing the stability of equilibria at infinity and the orientation of the trajectory, the existence and stability of limit circles of the autonomous system are analyzed by combining the Poincaré-Bendixson theorem and the index theory. The global phase portrait and the numerical simulation of the autonomous system in different parameter values are given. Finally, the existence of periodic and quasi-periodic solutions to periodic forced system is proved by a KAM theorem.

Abstract:Systems of oscillators subject to time-dependent noise typically achieve synchronization for long times when their mutual coupling is sufficiently strong. The dynamical process whereby synchronization is reached can be thought of as a growth process in which an interface formed by the local phase field gradually roughens and eventually saturates. Such a process is here shown to display the generic scale invariance of the one-dimensional Kardar-Parisi-Zhang universality class, including a Tracy-Widom probability distribution for phase fluctuations around their mean. This is revealed by numerical explorations of a variety of oscillator systems: rings of generic phase oscillators and rings of paradigmatic limit-cycle oscillators, like Stuart-Landau and van der Pol. It also agrees with analytical expectations derived under conditions of strong mutual coupling. The nonequilibrium critical behavior that we find is robust and transcends the details of the oscillators considered. Hence, it may well be accessible to experimental ensembles of oscillators in the presence of e.g. thermal noise.

The Dirac operator is unbounded from below and above, so the associated energy functional is strongly indefinite. Our approach is of topological nature and relies on the Krasnosel'ski\uı-Guo theorem on cone expansion and compression. Our results improve and complement earlier ones in the literature.
