Abstract:In this paper, we study the variational principle and the existence of periodic solutions for a new class of second-order ordinary p-Laplacian systems. The variational principle is given by making use of two methods. We obtain three existence theorems of periodic solutions to this problem on various sufficient conditions on the potential function F(t,x) or nonlinearity ∇F(t,x). Four examples are presented to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of our results.

Abstract:In this paper we will solve an open problem raised by Manásevich and Mawhin twenty years ago on the structure of the periodic eigenvalues of the vectorial $p$-Laplacian. This is an Euler-Lagrangian equation on the plane or in higher dimensional Euclidean spaces. The main result obtained is that for any exponent $p$ other than $2$, the vectorial $p$-Laplacian on the plane will admit infinitely many different sequences of periodic eigenvalues with a given period. These sequences of eigenvalues are constructed using the notion of scaling momenta we will introduce. The whole proof is based on the complete integrability of the equivalent Hamiltonian system, the tricky reduction to $2$-dimensional dynamical systems, and a number-theoretical distinguishing between different sequences of eigenvalues. Some numerical simulations to the new sequences of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions will be given. Several further conjectures towards to the panorama of the spectral sets will be imposed.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the existence of a periodic solution to the Cauchy problem for a class of impulsive differential equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces under general fading memory phase spaces satisfying a basic axiom. It is shown that the related Poincaré operator given by P(φ) = uT (φ) (i.e., T units along the unique solution u(φ) determined by the initial function φ ) is a condensing operator by virtue of the Kuratowski measure of non-compactness. Based on this result, we derive the existence of a periodic solution to the Cauchy problem with help of the boundedness of the solutions and three-set fixed point theorems. The main result in this paper extends the previous results for equations without impulsive conditions or in special Cg phase spaces. Finally, we give a remark on future developments of the related impulsive problems for fractional differential equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a two-point boundary value problem involving p -Laplacian and its relationship with the associated discrete ones. Specifically, by using discrete variational methods, we first obtain a sequence of positive solutions for the associated discrete two-point boundary value problems corresponding to different step lengths. Then, utilizing the sequence of positive solutions, we construct a sequence of continuous functions which can be shown to be precompact. Finally, we prove that the limit function of the convergent subsequence is the desired positive solution. In particular, our result covers the cases when the nonlinear function in the equation is -superlinear and asymptotically -linear.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate nonlinear second-order double impulsive differential equations integral boundary value problem with p-Laplacian on an infinite interval with the infinite number of impulsive times. Based on the cone theory and monotone iterative technique, we establish the existence of minimal nonnegative solution and iteration of positive solutions for such a boundary value problem. The main results are new and extend the existing results. At last, some examples are worked out to demonstrate the use of the main results.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate differential equations with generalized piecewise constant delay, DEGPCD in short, and establish the existence and stability of a unique almost periodic solution that is exponentially stable. Our results are derived by utilizing the properties of the (μ1,μ2)-exponential dichotomy, Cauchy and Green matrices, a Gronwall-type inequality for DEGPCD, and the Banach fixed point theorem. We apply these findings to derive new criteria for the existence, uniqueness, and convergence dynamics of almost periodic solutions in both the linear inhomogeneous and quasilinear DEGPCD systems through the (μ1,μ2)-exponential dichotomy for difference equations. These results are novel and serve to recover, extend, and improve upon recent research.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a system of multiple positive solutions and stability results for nonlinear fractional delay differential equations involving p ‐Laplacian operator. We derived adequate conditions to ensure that at least three nonnegative solutions exist by applying the conditions of the Leggett–Williams fixed‐point theory and some Green function properties. Due to a small change in time‐delay, we analyzed the Hyers–Ulam stability‐type of the equation. We used Riemann–Liouville fractional differential definition, and we assumed that nonzero delay θ>0 . In addition, for application purpose, comprehensive examples are given to ensure the effectiveness and feasibility of the results in this paper. Our proposed equation generalize some literature in the system.

Abstract:We investigate the monotonicity of the minimal period of the periodic solutions of some quasilinear differential equations involving the $p$-Laplace operator. The monotonicity is obtained as a function of a Hamiltonian energy in two cases. We first extend to the case $p\ge2$ classical results for $p=2$ due to Chow and Wang, and Chicone. Then we consider a differential equation associated with a fundamental interpolation inequality in Sobolev spaces. In that case, we generalize to $p\ge2$ a recent result due to Benguria, Depassier and~Loss when $p=2$.
