Abstract:Some heavy oil reservoirs with deep burial depths, low permeabilities, high temperatures and high salinities that cannot be thermally recovered or chemically flooded are treated with the "CO2 + chemical agent" compound huff and puff method, and positive results are achieved. However, there are still problems, and a more efficient compound system needs to be developed. This study first determined the design principles for molecular optimization, selected six chemical systems for two crude oils with two viscosities, and then analyzed and evaluated the viscosity reduction performance, increased CO2 solubility performance, and synergistic viscosity reduction performance to obtain the optimal solubilization synergist formula. The results show that the preferred system has a better effect on BN-1 crude oil. For the BN-1 crude oil, the ZR-1 system can increase the amount of dissolved CO2 by more than 30% under 15 MPa, and the synergistic viscosity reduction rate with CO2 can reach 98% at 10 MPa. Therefore, research on CO2 compound systems can improve the synergistic viscosity reduction effect, reduce the dosage of agents, further reduce the cost and increase the efficiency of viscosity reduction technology.

Abstract:According to hydrophile-lipophile balance(HLB ) theory,a kind of novel emulsion(CO-1),applied to the experiment cold rolled copper sheet,was developed by controlling of the compositions of emulsion,such as base oil,emulsifying reagent,extreme pressure,anti-wear reagent,antirust and so on.The research aims at showing the effect of emulsion to current of rolling mill main motor and the quality of the copper sheet's surface while cold rolling copper sheet with CO-1 emulsion.Comparison is made with other foreign emulsion products(SO-1).The results show that the application of the CO-1 emulsion improves obviously break-down rate and lowers down the main motor current,and quality of the copper sheet's surface.

Abstract:Oil-water emulsions have wide range of applications in the field of petrochemicals,food, medicine and others. The stability of emulsion has been a research hotspot. This paper reviewed research methods of emulsion stability in recent years,summarized the progress of research techniques from three aspects and made brief comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of different methods of the same scale. On the macro-scale,emulsion stability analyzers and low-field NMR are used to characterize the phase separation process,which simplifies the test operation and renders a more accurate result. On mesoscopic scale,thein situ characterization of emulsion droplet size can be achieved by fitting calculation of the optical and NMR results. On the micro-scale,the accurate characterization of interfacial film stability is realized by the development and introduction of micropipette,microscopic observation technologies and others,which includes the research of mechanical strength,thickness and morphology of interfacial film. In addition,this article also identified the integrated use of different methods in in-depth inquiring the stability mechanism, analyzed trends of research methods in oil-water emulsion stability,and noted thatin situ characterization technology is the development direction of emulsion stability research.

Abstract:The oil-in-water emulsion has been widely used as lubricant in metal working such as metal rolling and cutting. The film formation ability of emulsion was considered as an important evaluation factor. Thus the film formation mechanism and characteristics of emulsion have been widely investigated. However, the mechanism is still dubious and film forming characteristics were seldom discussed under an oil volume percentage of 0.05%. In this paper, a lubricating film testing apparatus is used to investigate the film forming characteristics of oil-in-water emulsion between the surface of a steel ball and that of a glass disc coated with chromium. By carrying out experiments under extremely low oil volume percentages (0.005–2.5%), some new phenomena are found in our program. The film formation mechanism of oil-in-water emulsion is discussed based on the different film forming performances of emulsion with different oil volume percentages. New viewpoints on the film formation of emulsion are put forward in this paper.

Abstract:This paper has tested the principle method of inspecting emulsion concentration with ultrasonic technique by means of simulation and artificial experiments. The results show that the stability and the repeats of signals are better. Moreover, the period of inspection is much shorter than the old method, and the error of inspection is also within the limits permitted. So, the technique is possible.

Abstract:The emulsification influences the result of oil recovery to a great extent in the process of chemical flooding.However,the mechanisms of how the oil recovery is influenced by the type,size and composition characteristics of the emulsion remain a problem to be studied.Laser Confocal Scanning Microscope (LCSM)with its high amplification and high resolution is used in this paper for that purpose.The microstructure in depth of the sample can be observed accurately.Three - dimensional image can be rebuilt by serial layer scanning.Therefore,the type,size and other characteristics of the emulsion can be analyzed without damaging the crude oil emulsion.According to the tracking test results,including the oil composition,the oil-water ratio,average particle size and the viscosity of the produced emulsion from pilot fields,the simulated emulsion can be made under the laboratory conditions by inversion method and identified by LCSM.Results show that emulsion can be prepared precisely in laboratory by inversion method with similar microcosmic compositions of the crude oil emulsion from pilot fields.Liquid membrane of the W/O emulsion is shown to be mainly composed of saturated hydrocarbon and asphaltene,while the liquid drop is filled with nonhydrocarbon and aromatic hydrocarbon in discontinuous shape.

Abstract:The dynamic process of purifying emulsion on rolling mill using electromagnetic technique has been analyzed and studied by dynamics principle in this paper.Based on result,the purification equipment has been developed and installed in a cold rolling mill.The basic structure characteristics of the purification equipment were described in detail.Emulsion purified by this way can be recycled and used again with cost reduction.

Abstract:The oil-in-water emulsion has been widely used as lubricant in metal working such as metal rolling and cutting. Although the film formation characteristics have been widely investigated, the mechanism is still not well understood. Furthermore there were seldom results reported on the emulsion with an oil volume percentage less than 1%. The film formation characteristic of emulsions with ultra-low oil concentration (0.005vol%) between a smooth plate and a highly polished steel ball was investigated. The effects of oil concentration and emulsifier concentration were investigated. New viewpoints on the film formation mechanism of emulsion were proposed.

Abstract:Factors affecting the stability of emulsions, such as HLB (hydrophile lipophile balance) value of emulsions, the types of emulsifiers and their combinations, the amount of emulsifiers and the structure similarity between emulsifier and base oil, are investigated. The results show that good stability of an emulsion could be obtained when the HLB value of an emulsion is equal to that of the oil being emulsified, the total amount of emulsifiers is in the range of 12%-15%, the HLB value of selected emulsifier is close to that of the emulsion, and the chemical structures of the emulsifiers are quite similar to those of the base oil. The homogeneous emulsions usually have good stability, yet in a certain extent, the emulsions having good stability exhibit bad lubricity.

Abstract:A series of oil in water (O/W) microemulsions were prepared through drop by drop method at constant temperature, taking Span80/Tween80 as a composite emulsifying system and Macol-52 as oil phase. Effects of the mass ratio of composite emulsifying system and oil/emulsifier ratio on the particle size were studied. Finally, the best technological conditions were selected and the stability of the microemulsion was also researched. Results showed that the most suitable Span80/Tween80 mass ratio was 1:1 and the oil/emulsifier ratio is 1:1. Under this condition, the mean particle size of the o/w microemulsion was 71.1 nm and the polydispersity index was 0.151. Moreover, the microemulsion maintain a bright and uniform stable system after 20minutes’ centrifugation at the speed of 4000r/min and the particle size increased slightly.

Abstract:Polyethylene wax micro-emulsion was prepared from polyethylene wax 6 100 by high temperature and high-pressure method in hermetic conditions.Influences of HLB number and dosage of emulsifier,emulsification time,temperature,pH,stirring speed and cooling conditions on the properties of polyethylene wax emulsion were investigated.Furthermore,the morphology,particle size and distribution of the emulsion were analyzed by field emission-transmission electron microscope(FE-TEM) and laser dynamic light emission device(DLS).The results showed that the optimum emulsification condition was: HLB number was 14.8,the dosage of compound emulsifier was 6.4%,and the wax was emulsified at 130 ℃ for 40 min with 60 r/min of stirring speed under pH 8.The polyethylene wax ultrafine micro-emulsion with more than 40% of solid content,50 nm of average particle size,good stability and dispersibility could be obtained under the optimum condition.The softness and fullness of the fabric treated with this kind of ultrafine micro-emulsion was obviously improved.Frictional resistance of the fabric surface could be reduced,and the tailoring properties of the fabric could also be greatly improved.

Abstract:The hot tandem rolling mill has been widely used for producing aluminum alloy strip recently,so the emulsion is playing more and more important role in lubrication during tandem hot rolling process.The factors that influence lubrication performance,such as the viscosity,grain-size,concentration,stability and additives of emulsion have been investigated.There are problems during hot tandem rolling should be taken care of,such as the soap contain value in lubrication emulsion,the surface color difference on rough rolled and finishing rolled aluminum alloy strip,emulsion choosing,maintaining and managing of emulsion tank.The corresponding idea and measures for solving the above mentioned problems have been put forward.

Abstract:The viscosity of heavy oil is of great importance on crude oil recovery, and the intrinsic relationship between the molecular structure of heavy oil and its viscosity is still unclear. To this end, the chemical structure of heavy oil is characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Diffusion-ordered Spectroscopy (DOSY). The relationship between the molecular structure and viscosity of heavy oil is revealed. The morphology of molecular aggregates is dominated by spherical particles, vesicles and films, and the corresponding viscosity increases sequentially. DOSY show that the heavy oil molecules rapidly gathered into aggregates with increasing concentrations. If the saturated aggregation concentration (maximum degree of aggregation) is exceeded, the volume of the single aggregate remains generally fixed but its quantity begins to increase. In addition, the structure-activity relationship between chemical agents and emulsification-stripping, including their mechanism of effect are systematically studied by interfacial tension (IFT), emulsification and micromodel experiments. The results show that the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) values of surfactants that stabilize the emulsions are between 13.7 and 14.5. There is no obvious consistency between the emulsification effect of the surfactant and its IFT, and the stripping effect depends on its permeation and wetting action on the solid interface. The formation of emulsions in porous media mainly depends on the rotational disturbance and shear fracture of the displacing fluid, and the wettability of the solid surface determines the peeling rate of the oil film. Comparing with the blockage of large-sized emulsions, the migration of small-sized droplets in the channels as a continuous phase contributes more to the enhanced oil recovery.

Abstract:The relation between rolling oil quality mark and presure,temprature,pressure,and ultrasonic velocity was discussed when use pulse-echo sound speed method of ultrasonic to measure its quality mark.Through setting up models,the ultrasonic transmitted velocity that associate with the rolling oil quality mark ranging from 0 to 11 percent and with the temperature ranging from 20 ℃ to 65 ℃ were calculated.In addition,when the rolling oil was adulterated with particles of iron,how they disturb the measurement results was analyzed in detail.Furthermore,a method to reduce the disturbance of the iron particles was put forward.The simulation results have significant guidance to the design and manufacture of quality mark detect instrument in ultrasonic velocity method.

Abstract:Objective To prepare fish oil microemulsion and investigate its properties.Methods The O/W fish oil microemulsion was prepared by using edible soybean oil and propanetriol as the oil-phase solvent,polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate(Tween 80) and lactose(9:1.w/w) as the surfactant phase.The effects of salinity and pH on the microemulsion region were determined with pseudo-ternary phase diagrams.The further investigations into conductivity,particle size and rheological characteristics of the microemulsion were performed.Results The fish oil microemulsion had good salt and pH tolerance.The mean particle size was in the range of 10～100 nm,indicating that the microemulsion had desired stability.The rheological study suggested that the microemulsion sample,with the ratio of surfactant phase to oil phase of 9:1 and water content of 80%(w/w),was pseudoplastic fluid with the shear-thinning behavior.Conclusion Microemulison is a new and convenient method to encapsulate fish oil with good stability.

Abstract:The film forming mechanism of oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions has been investigated at high speeds in the present paper. The lubricant reservoir formed in nano-confined space between a smooth plate disc and a highly polished ball could be observed via the microscope and the film thickness was calculated by the technique of relative optical interference intensity (ROII). The film formation mechanism and influencing factors including the oil percentage, the high speed and the width of nano-gap were discussed.
