Abstract:Regenerative cooling, a highly effective method for cooling scramjet chambers, has garnered considerable attention in aircraft energy management. This study focuses on investigating changes in fluid physical properties, fuel conversion, and their impact on the stress field within regenerative cooling channels. To achieve this, a three-dimensional comprehensive thermal-hydraulic-chemical-mechanical simulation model was developed. The model was validated in a stepwise manner. The research specifically entails multiphysics field simulations, examining the thermal-mechanical behavior in both smooth channels and enhanced channels, all under varying heat flux conditions. Our findings reveal that continuous micro-ribs play a significant role in reducing wall temperature and consequently minimizing fuel conversion. This effect becomes more pronounced with increasing heat flux, resulting in diminished enhancement of heat transfer attributed to micro-ribs. The convective heat transfer coefficient (h) decreases from 1.23 to 1.08 accordingly. Simultaneously, thermal pyrolysis weakens the buoyancy effect of the fluid. The nonlinear relationship between thermal pyrolysis and temperature results in a substantial increase in temperature uniformity. This reduces thermal stress within the channel. While continuous micro-ribs prove effective in reducing thermal stress in the bottom wall, this effect diminishes with higher heat flux levels due to the influence of thermal pyrolysis.
