Abstract:We study a coupled Schrödinger system with general nonlinearities. By using variational methods, we prove the existence and asymptotic behaviour of ground state solution for the system with periodic couplings. Moreover, we prove the existence and nonexistence of ground state solution for the system with non-periodic couplings via Nehari manifold method. Especially, the ground state solution with both nontrivial components is obtained, and the sign of nontrivial components is considered.

Abstract:We study the existence of ground and bound state solutions for a system of coupled Schr\"odinger equations with linear and nonlinear couplings in $\mathbb{R}^N$. By studying the limit system and using concentration compactness arguments, we prove the existence of ground and bound state solutions under suitable assumptions. Our results are new even for the limit system.

Abstract:We consider the nonlinear fractional Kirchhoff equation “ a+ b Z R3 |(−∆)u| dx ” (−∆)u+ V (x)u = f(u) in R, u ∈ H(R), where a > 0, b ≥ 0, α ∈ (3/4, 1) are three constants, V (x) is differentiable and f ∈ C1(R,R). Our main results show the existence of ground state solutions of Nehari-Pohozaev type, and the existence of the least energy solutions to the above problem with general superlinear and subcritical nonlinearity. These results are proved by applying variational methods and some techniques from [27].

Abstract:In this paper we study the following nonlinear Schrodinger equation {-Delta u+a(x)u=f(x,u), u epsilon H-1(R-N), where a is periodic with respect to x and f(x,u) is superlinear in u. Suppose that 0 lies in a gap of the spectrum sigma(-Delta+a). Without periodic assumption on f, we prove the existence of ground state solution for the system. Moreover, we obtain some sufficient conditions for the nonexistence of ground state solution.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with existence of bound states for a coupled gradient system of nonautonomous Schrödinger equations which arises from studies of nonlinear optics and Bose–Einstein condensates. With the condition , we obtain the ground state solution of the Nehari-Pohozaev type. Based on the result, by the Jeanjeans monotonicity trick, we also get a least energy solution. For the case , the existence of ground state solution is proved by the diagonal method. We generalize the existence results.

Abstract:We study the existence, the nonexistence, and the shape of the ground states of a Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation on a manifold called hybrid plane, that consists of a half-line whose origin is connected to a plane. The nonlinearity is of power type, focusing and subcritical. The energy is the sum of the Nonlinear Schrödinger energies with a contact interaction on the half-line and on the plane with an additional quadratic term that couples the two components. By ground state we mean every minimizer of the energy at a fixed mass.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the existence and asymptotic behavior of ground state solutions for a class of Hamiltonian elliptic system with Hardy potential. The resulting problem engages three major difficulties: one is that the associated functional is strongly indefinite, the second difficulty we must overcome lies in verifying the link geometry and showing the boundedness of Cerami sequences when the nonlinearity is different from the usual global super-quadratic condition. The third difficulty is singular potential, which does not belong to the Kato's class. These enable us to develop a direct approach and new tricks to overcome the difficulties caused by singularity of potential and the dropping of classical super-quadratic assumption on the nonlinearity. Our approach is based on non-Nehari method which developed recently, we establish some new existence results of ground state solutions of Nehari-Pankov type under some mild conditions, and analyze asymptotical behavior of ground state solutions.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper we are concerned with the existence, nonexistence and bifurcation of nontrivial solution of the nonlinear Schrödinger-Korteweg-de Vries type system(NLS-NLS-KdV). First, we find some conditions to guarantee the existence and nonexistence of positive solution of the system. Second, we study the asymptotic behavior of the positive ground state solution. Finally, we use the classical Crandall-Rabinowitz local bifurcation theory to get the nontrivial positive solution. To get these results we encounter some new challenges. By combining the Nehari manifolds constraint method and the delicate energy estimates, we overcome the difficulties and find the two bifurcation branches from one semitrivial solution. This is an new interesting phenomenon but which have not previously been found.
