Abstract:Using the Manásevich–Mawhin continuation theorem, a class of Rayleigh type equations with a deviating argument of the form (φp(x′(t)))′+f(x′(t))+β(t)g(x(t−τ(t)))=e(t) is studied. It is notable that the coefficient β(t) ahead of g(x(t−τ(t))) is allowed to change sign in this paper, which could be achieved infrequently in previous papers.

Abstract:We study the following semilinear impulsive differential equation with delay: u′(t)+Au(t)=f(t,u(t),ut),t>0,t≠ti,u(s)=ϕ(s),s∈[−r,0],Δu(ti)=Ii(u(ti)),i=1,2,…,00 is a constant and ut(s)=u(t+s), s∈[−r,0]. Here, Δu(ti)=u(ti+)−u(ti−) constitutes an impulsive condition, which can be used to model more physical phenomena than the traditional initial value problems. We assume that f(t,u,w) is T-periodic in t and then prove with some compactness conditions that if solutions of the equation are ultimately bounded, then the differential equation has a T-periodic solution. The new results obtained here extend some results in this area for differential equations without impulsive conditions or without delays.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence of periodic solutions for coupled Rayleigh system (CRS). A sufficient criterion for the existence of periodic solutions for CRS is provided via an innovative method of combining graph theory with coincidence degree theory as well as Lyapunov method. As a subsequent result, coupled Lord Rayleigh system is also discussed. Subsequently, a sufficient condition is given to determine the existence of its periodic solutions. Finally, a numerical example and its simulations are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed criterion.

By using the classical coincidence degree theory of Mawhin, sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solutions are established. Abstract:By means of Mawhin's continuation theorem, we study some second order differential equations with a deviating argument: x″(t)=f(t,x(t),x(t−τ(t)),x′(t))+e(t). Some new results on the existence of periodic solutions are obtained. The interest is that we allow the degree with respect to the variables x0,x1,x2 of f(t,x0,x1,x2) to be greater than 1; and also the result (Theorem 3.2) is related to the deviating argument τ(t). Meanwhile, we give an example to demonstrate our result.

Abstract:In this paper the periodic solution problem of high-order Functional Differential Equations (FDE) with “general” delays is studied. By changing the original equations into its equivalent FDEs and using the characteristic equation of the equivalent FDEs, the sufficient and necessary condition on which the periodic solutions of the original equations exist is presented, i.e., characteristic equation of the equivalent FDEs has nonzero imaginary solutions.
