Abstract:By employing the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, we study a kind of Rayleigh equation with a deviating argument as follows:x″(t)+f(x′(t))+g(x(t−τ(t)))=p(t).Some new results on the existence of periodic solutions are obtained.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence of periodic solutions for coupled Rayleigh system (CRS). A sufficient criterion for the existence of periodic solutions for CRS is provided via an innovative method of combining graph theory with coincidence degree theory as well as Lyapunov method. As a subsequent result, coupled Lord Rayleigh system is also discussed. Subsequently, a sufficient condition is given to determine the existence of its periodic solutions. Finally, a numerical example and its simulations are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed criterion.

Abstract:In the paper, we are concerned with the existence of periodic solutions for a coupled Rayleigh system. By combining graph theory with coincidence degree theory as well as Lyapunov function method, two new sufficient conditions on the existence of periodic solutions for the coupled Rayleigh system are established. Abstract:We obtain existence an multiplicity of harmonic and subharmonic solutions to the periodically forced nonlinear Duffing′s equation x″ + g(x) = p(t) in the semi-linear case: 0 < A ≤ g(x)/x ≤ B < + ∞, for |x| large. We introduce new conditions of nonresonance with respect to the spectrum of the associated linear differential operator x↦ −x″ and show, by some nonlinear counterexamples, that the results are sharp.

By using the classical coincidence degree theory of Mawhin, sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solutions are established. Abstract:We first give a solution to a key problem concerning the completeness of the space of weighted pseudo almost-periodic functions and then establish a new composition theorem with respect to these functions. Some important remarks with concrete examples are also presented. Moreover, we prove an existence theorem for the weighted pseudo almost-periodic mild solution to the semilinear evolution equation: x′(t)=Ax(t)+f(t,x(t)), t∈ℝ, where A is the infinitesimal generator of an exponentially stable C0-semigroup. An application is also given to illustrate the abstract existence theorem.

Here ω is a positive constant, and f:[0,ω]×Rn→Rn is a Carathéodory function. Some existence and multiplicity results of positive periodic solutions are derived by using a fixed point theorem in cones.

Abstract:In this paper we will use the coincidence degree to give an existence result of periodic solutions for the scalar Liénard equations with singular forces of repulsive type. The main result of this paper clearly describes what balance conditions between the singular force at the singularity and at the infinity should be imposed if the equation has a periodic solution. As an application, we will improve the results of Ding, Ye, and Wang for the Brillouin electron beam focusing system.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we describe a method to solve the problem of finding periodic solutions for second-order neutral delay-differential equations with piecewise constant arguments of the form x ′′( t ) + px ′′( t − 1) = qx ([ t ]) + f ( t ), where [⋅] denotes the greatest integer function, p and q are nonzero real or complex constants, and f ( t ) is complex valued periodic function. The method reduces the problem to a system of algebraic equations. We give explicit formula for the solutions of the equation. We also give counter examples to some previous findings concerning uniqueness of solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the pseudo almost periodic solutions for a class of nonlinear Duffing equations with -pseudo almost periodic coefficients and delays on time scales. For this purpose, we establish a result of the existence and uniqueness of pseudo almost periodic solution for an abstract linear equation with -almost periodic coefficients and -pseudo almost periodic forcing term. Meanwhile, to deal with the delay, we extend some concepts of functions from to , where is a time scale with translation set , and give some basic properties for these concepts. Then, applying these results, we obtain some results on the existence and uniqueness of pseudo almost periodic solutions for the Duffing equation. Moreover, some examples are given to illustrate our main results.

Abstract:This paper deals with the semilinear Rayleigh–Stokes equation with the fractional derivative in time of order , which can be used to model anomalous diffusion in viscoelastic fluids. An operator family related to this problem is defined, and its regularity properties are investigated. We firstly give the concept of the mild solutions in terms of the operator family and then obtain the existence of global mild solutions by means of fixed point technique. Moreover, the existence and regularity of classical solutions are given.

Abstract:This paper studies a class of the fractional stochastic evolution equation with delay. With the aid of the compact semigroup theory and Schauder fixed point theorem, the existence of square-mean S-asymptotically periodic mild solutions is obtained under the situation that the nonlinear functions satisfy certain growth conditions. Moreover, by establishing a new Grönwall integral inequality corresponding to fractional differential equation with delay, the global asymptotic stability of the square-mean S-asymptotically periodic mild solutions are discussed. Finally, an example is given to illustrate our abstract results.

Abstract:We prove the existence of positive periodic solutions for the second order nonlinear equation $u" + a(x) g(u) = 0$, where $g(u)$ has superlinear growth at zero and at infinity. The weight function $a(x)$ is allowed to change its sign. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of nontrivial solutions are obtained. The proof is based on Mawhin's coincidence degree and applies also to Neumann boundary conditions. Applications are given to the search of positive solutions for a nonlinear PDE in annular domains and for a periodic problem associated to a non-Hamiltonian equation.

Abstract:Bulletin of Mathematical Sciences, Ahead of Print. Due to the essential difficulty of establishing an appropriate variational framework on a suitable working space, how to apply the critical point theory for showing the existence and multiplicity of periodic solutions of continuous-time difference equations remains a completely open problem. New ideas including gluing arguments are introduced in this work to overcome such a difficulty. This enables us to employ the critical point theory to construct uncountably many periodic solutions for a class of superlinear continuous-time difference equations without assuming symmetry properties on the nonlinear terms. The obtained solutions are piecewise differentiable in some cases, distinguishing continuous-time difference equations from ordinary differential equations qualitatively. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time in the literature that the critical point theory has been used for such types of problems. Our work may open an avenue for studying discrete nonlinear systems with continuous time via the critical point theory.
