Abstract:Spectinomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic produced by Streptomyces spectabilis. It has become one of the first-selected veterinary drugs because it exerts little toxic side-effects and it does almost not accumulated in animal bodies. However, studies on spectinomycin in our country are relatively few. In this paper we summarize the progresses in breeding, metabolism, determination of spectinomycin and its prospect as a veterinary drug.

Abstract:The eco-toxicological effects of veterinary drug residues in environment have received widespread attention,and the influence of veterinary drugs residue on the resistance of microbial was studied.The review describes the distribution of veterinary drugs residues and the resistance of bacteria to veterinary drugs in environment firstly;it secondly introduces the sources of resistance genes as well as transmission and finally the impact to drug resistant bacteria of elaborate veterinary drug residues in environment.The review can provide a reference to the veterinary drug resistance as well as resistance genes in environment.

Abstract:The research and development of novel preparations of ibuprofen reported in recent years were reviewed.Several representative new preparations of ibuprofen,including new tablets,multilayer microcapsules,transdermal dosage form,buccal mucoadhesive film,ophthalmic controlled delivery nanosuspension,injectable liposomal gel,biodegradable PLGA microsphere and so on,were introduced.These new dosage forms have generally improved the bioavailability and safety of ibuprofen.

Abstract:Probiotics has the advantage of non-pollution,non-toxicity and non-residue and is considered as the best effective substitute to the antibiotics.However,at present,the data concerning the effects of probiotics are often contradictory.It is urgent to seek the ways to improve its effects.The effects of probiotics may be improved by several methods: selection and cultivation of more efficient strains,combination of several probiotics,combination of probiotics and synergistically feed additives.However,the combination of probiotics and the synergistically feed additives seems to be the best way of potentiating the effects of probiotics and will be widely used in practice.

Abstract:Nanosuspensions are nano-colloidal dispersions of drug particles in crystal or amorphous state stabilized by surfactants. Nanosuspensions not only solve the problem of poor solubility,but also improve permeability, biological activity and efficacy of drug. The preparative technique nanosuspensions and its applications in the field of medicine and pesticide w ere review ed. Furthermore,the storage stability and future development of nanosuspension have also been preliminarily analyed.The pesticide nanosuspensions can be produced either by top-dow n approach such as media milling,piston-gap homogenization and high pressure microfluidization or by bottom-up technique such asprecipitation and supercritical fluid method. Top-dow n method is suitable for hydrophobic and oleophobic pesticide processing,and the preparation process is simple and easy to scale up. How ever,the media milling process suffers from the corrosion of the media,w hich results in the pollution of the samples and the pre-micronization of the samples is necessary for the piston-gap homogenization method. Bottom-up method has the advantages of low instrumental requirements and low energy consumption,but this method requires the pesticide to be soluable in at least one solvent. Because each method has its advantages and disadvantages,the combination of several methods has been applied in the preparation of nanosuspensions. Based on the low effective issues associated w ith the pesticide use,exploring the application prospect of nanosuspensions as a new type of pesticide formulation is crucial and has potential practical applications.

Abstract:The new methods for nanocapsules preparation are introduced in this paper,including emulsion polymerization,interfacial polymerization,cohesion phase separation,double emulsion evaporation technique,inorganic chemical plating membrane,alternating adsorption of poly-electrolytes. The structure and physicochemical performance of nanocapsules,such as particle size,rate of capsulation,Zeta potential, heat-sensitivity and pH-sensitivity are also reviewed. The development trends for nanocapsules are presented.

Abstract:Prolonged release dosage forms have application in veterinary medicine as it has many advantages including minimizing the need for repeated administration while achieving therapeutic effects.This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the various approaches in the veterinary field,such as devices designed for particular animals,newly sustained release systems,and so on.Further,the preparation,characteristics and the behavior of drug release are described in detail.Additionally,examples of application of controlled release technologies in the veterinary field are discussed.

Abstract:Veterinary drug residues of common food (milk, meat) have posed serious threats to the environment and human health, making the quality and safety of agricultural, livestock, and aquatic products increasingly prominent. With the widespread use of veterinary drugs and the requirements for food safety, it has become urgent to detect veterinary drug residues in animal-derived foods. So far, few studies have systematically reviewed the progresses, challenges, and future directions in veterinary drug residue detection. A thorough review on the current advancements, challenges, and potential future directions of veterinary drug residue detection will be extremely beneficial and timely. This study reviewed recent developments of detection technology of veterinary drug residues. The current issues and challenges in veterinary drug residue detection were examined and highlighted. Finally, future proposals on directions and prospects for veterinary drug residue detection were suggested. High-throughput and high-sensitivity veterinary drug detection technology, sample pretreatment technology for rapid processing, and the fusion of multiple detection methods were recommended as the main directions for the future development of veterinary drug residue detection. It was suggested to develop the analysis and detection technologies of veterinary drug residue towards high automation, high sensitivity, and high throughput in the future. This review provides new ideas and strategies for the rapid development of animal husbandry industry and protecting consumers’ physical health and food safety.

Abstract:Nanocapsule preparation technology, as an emerging technology with great development prospects, has uniqueness and superiority in various industries. In this paper, the preparation technology of nanocapsules was systematically divided into three categories: physical methods, chemical methods, and physicochemical methods. The technological innovation of different methods in recent years was reviewed, and the mechanisms of nanocapsules prepared via emulsion polymerization, interface polymerization, layer-by-layer self-assembly technology, nanoprecipitation, supercritical fluid, and nano spray drying was summarized in detail. Different from previous reviews, the renewal iteration of core–shell structural materials was highlighted, and relevant illustrations of their representative and latest research results were reviewed. With the continuous progress of nanocapsule technology, especially the continuous development of new wall materials and catalysts, new preparation technology, and new production equipment, nanocapsule technology will be used more widely in medicine, food, cosmetics, pesticides, petroleum products, and many other fields.

Abstract:There is an urgent need to find new solutions for the global dilemma of increasing antibiotic resistance in humans and animals. Modifying the performance of existing antibiotics using the nanocarrier drug delivery system (DDS) is a good option considering economic costs, labor costs, and time investment compared to the development of new antibiotics. Numerous studies on nanomedicine carriers that can be used for humans are available in the literature, but relatively few studies have been reported specifically for veterinary pharmaceutical products. Polymer-based nano-DDS are becoming a research hotspot in the pharmaceutical industry owing to their advantages, such as stability and modifiability. This review presents current research progress on polymer-based nanodelivery systems for veterinary antimicrobial drugs, focusing on the role of polymeric materials in enhancing drug performance. The use of polymer-based nanoformulations improves treatment compliance in livestock and companion animals, thereby reducing the workload of managers. Although promising advances have been made, many obstacles remain to be addressed before nanoformulations can be used in a clinical setting. Some crucial issues currently facing this field, including toxicity, quality control, and mass production, are discussed in this review. With the continuous optimization of nanotechnology, polymer-based DDS has shown its potential in reducing antibiotic resistance to veterinary medicines.

Abstract:Veterinary drugs are used to treat livestock and aquatic diseases and thus are introduced into animal-derived foods, endangering consumer health and safety. Antibiotic resistance is rapidly becoming a major worldwide problem, and there has been a steady increase in the number of pathogens that show multi-drug resistance. Illegal and excessive use of veterinary drugs in animals and aquaculture has serious adverse effects on humans and on all other environmental organisms. It is necessary to develop simple extraction methods and fast analytical methods to effectively detect veterinary drug residues in animal-derived foods. This review summarizes the application of various sample extraction techniques and detection and quantification methods for veterinary drug residues reported in the last decade (2010-2020). This review compares the advantages and disadvantages of various extraction techniques and detection methods and describes advanced methods, such as those that use electrochemical biosensors, piezoelectric biosensors, optical biosensors, and molecularly imprinted polymer biosensors. Finally, the future prospects and trends related to extraction methods, detection methods and advanced methods for the analysis of veterinary drug residues in animal-derived foods are summarized.
