Abstract:Prolonged release dosage forms have application in veterinary medicine as it has many advantages including minimizing the need for repeated administration while achieving therapeutic effects.This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the various approaches in the veterinary field,such as devices designed for particular animals,newly sustained release systems,and so on.Further,the preparation,characteristics and the behavior of drug release are described in detail.Additionally,examples of application of controlled release technologies in the veterinary field are discussed.

Abstract:The eco-toxicological effects of veterinary drug residues in environment have received widespread attention,and the influence of veterinary drugs residue on the resistance of microbial was studied.The review describes the distribution of veterinary drugs residues and the resistance of bacteria to veterinary drugs in environment firstly;it secondly introduces the sources of resistance genes as well as transmission and finally the impact to drug resistant bacteria of elaborate veterinary drug residues in environment.The review can provide a reference to the veterinary drug resistance as well as resistance genes in environment.

Abstract:Spectinomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic produced by Streptomyces spectabilis. It has become one of the first-selected veterinary drugs because it exerts little toxic side-effects and it does almost not accumulated in animal bodies. However, studies on spectinomycin in our country are relatively few. In this paper we summarize the progresses in breeding, metabolism, determination of spectinomycin and its prospect as a veterinary drug.

Abstract:The research progress in ecological environmental impact of the veterinary drug residues was reviewed from the aspects of the environmental behavior of the veterinary drug residues such as transportation,accumulation and degradation and their influences on animals,plants and microorganisms,etc.The research priorities in the field of eco-toxicities of veterinary drug residues were prospected.It is pointed out that many veterinary drugs are adsorbed by soil and accumulated by plants,earthworms,and other organisms.The effects of veterinary drugs on plants and soil microbial community are mainly dependent on the properties of veterinary drugs and types of soil.The antimicrobials easily induce bacterial resistance and even pollution-induces community tolerance(PICT) in soil.So veterinary drug residues become long-term risks to ecosystem health including human beings.

Abstract:There is an urgent need to find new solutions for the global dilemma of increasing antibiotic resistance in humans and animals. Modifying the performance of existing antibiotics using the nanocarrier drug delivery system (DDS) is a good option considering economic costs, labor costs, and time investment compared to the development of new antibiotics. Numerous studies on nanomedicine carriers that can be used for humans are available in the literature, but relatively few studies have been reported specifically for veterinary pharmaceutical products. Polymer-based nano-DDS are becoming a research hotspot in the pharmaceutical industry owing to their advantages, such as stability and modifiability. This review presents current research progress on polymer-based nanodelivery systems for veterinary antimicrobial drugs, focusing on the role of polymeric materials in enhancing drug performance. The use of polymer-based nanoformulations improves treatment compliance in livestock and companion animals, thereby reducing the workload of managers. Although promising advances have been made, many obstacles remain to be addressed before nanoformulations can be used in a clinical setting. Some crucial issues currently facing this field, including toxicity, quality control, and mass production, are discussed in this review. With the continuous optimization of nanotechnology, polymer-based DDS has shown its potential in reducing antibiotic resistance to veterinary medicines.

Abstract:Sustained and controlled release preparations are new chemotherapy drug formulations that substitute for the various inadequacies of traditional ones. Many domestic and foreign researchers made anti- cancer drugs into a variety of sustained and controlled release preparations,like nanoparticles,in-situ gel.lipo-somes,microspheres,and so on. And by kinds of administration routes, these sustained and controlled release an- ti-cancer preparations, could reduce side effects,extend time that maintain the effective blood concentration, which may be valuable for clinical application.

Abstract:Veterinary drugs are used to treat livestock and aquatic diseases and thus are introduced into animal-derived foods, endangering consumer health and safety. Antibiotic resistance is rapidly becoming a major worldwide problem, and there has been a steady increase in the number of pathogens that show multi-drug resistance. Illegal and excessive use of veterinary drugs in animals and aquaculture has serious adverse effects on humans and on all other environmental organisms. It is necessary to develop simple extraction methods and fast analytical methods to effectively detect veterinary drug residues in animal-derived foods. This review summarizes the application of various sample extraction techniques and detection and quantification methods for veterinary drug residues reported in the last decade (2010-2020). This review compares the advantages and disadvantages of various extraction techniques and detection methods and describes advanced methods, such as those that use electrochemical biosensors, piezoelectric biosensors, optical biosensors, and molecularly imprinted polymer biosensors. Finally, the future prospects and trends related to extraction methods, detection methods and advanced methods for the analysis of veterinary drug residues in animal-derived foods are summarized.

Abstract:Veterinary drug residues of common food (milk, meat) have posed serious threats to the environment and human health, making the quality and safety of agricultural, livestock, and aquatic products increasingly prominent. With the widespread use of veterinary drugs and the requirements for food safety, it has become urgent to detect veterinary drug residues in animal-derived foods. So far, few studies have systematically reviewed the progresses, challenges, and future directions in veterinary drug residue detection. A thorough review on the current advancements, challenges, and potential future directions of veterinary drug residue detection will be extremely beneficial and timely. This study reviewed recent developments of detection technology of veterinary drug residues. The current issues and challenges in veterinary drug residue detection were examined and highlighted. Finally, future proposals on directions and prospects for veterinary drug residue detection were suggested. High-throughput and high-sensitivity veterinary drug detection technology, sample pretreatment technology for rapid processing, and the fusion of multiple detection methods were recommended as the main directions for the future development of veterinary drug residue detection. It was suggested to develop the analysis and detection technologies of veterinary drug residue towards high automation, high sensitivity, and high throughput in the future. This review provides new ideas and strategies for the rapid development of animal husbandry industry and protecting consumers’ physical health and food safety.

Abstract:Abstract Liposomal technology has become a significant advancement in the field of veterinary therapeutics, offering increased performance and safety in the delivery of treatments such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and anti-cancer medications. With their superior stability, improved encapsulation of drugs, and more efficient transport mechanisms, nanoparticles are becoming a key tool for future uses in veterinary applications. This review article explores the latest developments and potential future applications of liposomes for delivering drugs and vaccines in veterinary medicine. Furthermore, we delve into the potential of liposomes for ground-breaking applications. These include delivering drugs precisely to specific tissues and organs, alongside the incorporation of immunomodulatory agents to boost vaccine effectiveness in veterinary medicine. It will emphasize the critical role of liposomes in the administration of vaccines and pharmaceuticals, as well as their potential as nanoscale carriers in veterinary applications. Abstract:Extracellular vesicles are nanoscale vesicles that transport signals between cells, mediating both physiological and pathological processes. EVs facilitate conserved intercellular communication. By transferring bioactive molecules between cells, EVs coordinate systemic responses, regulating homeostasis, immunity, and disease progression. Given their biological importance and involvement in pathogenesis, EVs show promise as biomarkers for veterinary diagnosis, and candidates for vaccine production, and treatment agents. Additionally, different treatment or engineering methods could be used to boost the capability of extracellular vesicles. Despite the emerging veterinary interest, EV research has been predominantly human-based. Critical knowledge gaps remain regarding isolation protocols, cargo loading mechanisms, in vivo biodistribution, and species-specific functions. Standardized methods for veterinary EV characterization and validation are lacking. Regulatory uncertainties impede veterinary clinical translation. Advances in fundamental EV biology and technology are needed to propel the veterinary field forward. This review introduces EVs from a veterinary perspective by introducing the latest studies, highlighting their potential while analyzing challenges to motivate expanded veterinary investigation and translation.

The production and sale of counterfeit and inferior veterinary drugs, the illegal use of prohibited drugs, and the non-prescribed use of veterinary drugs have affected the prevention of animal epidemics and affected the quality of animal products, which will finally affect people's physical health. The intelligent management system for veterinary drug production and supervision (the system) can supervise the production, management and use of veterinary drug in an all-dimensional and multi-level manner in a wide range of fields. It has great research significance and broad application prospects. This paper mainly analyzes the significance of the system from three perspectives, studies its application prospects in different market entities, and analyzes the application and promotion of the system from two aspects.

Abstract:As an excellent pharmaceutical carrier,liposomes exhibit characteristics of wide drug loading range,high efficiency and low toxicity.Besides increasing stability and solubility of load-ing drugs,liposomes can ascribe targeting and sustained release features to loading drugs.Mean-while,it can improve bioavailability of loading drugs.Based on the above characteristics,liposomes is becoming hot spot of research and application.This article reviewed construction methods of li-posomes based on structure,particle design and chosen of preparation method.Combined with ap-plication and demands of veterinary medicine,research progress on application of liposome in the field of veterinary medicine was submitted.It is expected that this article will provide reference for the development of new drug delivery systems used in the field of veterinary medicine.

Abstract:The overuse and misuse of veterinary drugs, particularly antimicrobials, in food animal production in China cause environmental pollution and wide food safety concerns, and pose public health risk with the selection of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) that can spread from animal populations to humans. Elevated abundance and diversity of antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) and resistant bacteria (including multi drug resistant strains) in food-producing animals, food products of animal origin, microbiota of human gut, and environmental media impacted by intensive animal farming have been reported. To rein in drug use in food animal production and protect public health, the government made a total of 227 veterinary drugs, including 150 antimicrobial products, available only by prescription from licensed veterinarians for curing, controlling, and preventing animal diseases in March 2014. So far the regulatory ban on non-therapeutic use has failed to bring major changes to the long-standing practice of drug overuse and misuse in animal husbandry and aquaculture, and significant improvement in its implementation and enforcement is necessary. A range of measures, including improving access to veterinary services, strengthening supervision on veterinary drug production and distribution, increasing research and development efforts, and enhancing animal health management, are recommended to facilitate transition toward rational use of veterinary drugs, particularly antimicrobials, and to reduce the public health risk arising from AMR development in animal agriculture.
