Numerical Simulation on Residual Stress in T-joint Weld Toe Remelted by TIG

Abstract:The residual stress field in T-joint weld toe remelted by TIG was simulated using ABAQUS finite element software.The blind-hole residual stress in the toe area was tested by bind-hole method.The results show that after TIG arc remelting treatment,the T-joint weld toe area can improve the shape of the weld toe,however,the area till shows a tensile residual stress state.The residual stress tests in actual welding also verify the calculation results.
