Abstract:The“new century literature”has surpassed“new literature”in two aspects:one is the possi- ble reflection on the“reality”,which leads to the new understanding of literary complexity,and the other is the focus on the details of everyday life,which reflects a series of troubles and worries,namely,how to face everydayness.The felt everydayness is of literary characteristic in the current situation.The troubles that everydayness has brought about are embodied in such literary phenomena of“base level”,“odd- jobbers”,“new juvenile writers”and others.This everydayness is one of the subjects in the new context of writing.

Abstract:The introduction of the concept of life\|world has served to intenasify enlightenment of the notion of praxis.but we are cautioned not to expect too much of it both in real life situations and in academic studies.After all,it is a concept introduced from the West without a definite idea even in the Western academic circle.Theoretical basis of modern philosophy,the author suggests,should aim to realize transformation of non\|Westernized cultural tradition through self\|criticism of life\|world,developing from individualism of existence to the social historic notion of survival of mankind.Only in this way can the stage of conscious construction of the existentia be arrived at.

Abstract:“Lying Flat” is the literal translation of the Chinese slang term “Tang Ping,” which alludes to the current youth culture of giving up and living a life without ambition. The term was coined against the backdrop of a worldwide economic downturn and reflects the mental confusion and disillusionment of young people. Multiple variables, including excessive social competition, unsuitable school education, and permissive parents, contribute to adolescents’ inactive life attitudes. This article presented some typical lying-flat cohorts, explored the underlying causes, and provided solutions for this problem in an effort to provide suggestions for encouraging the younger generation to regain hope in life and attain self-actualization.

Abstract:The white -collar workers' social s tatus has aroused greater concern in a general sense, given their more and more important role playing in modern market economy. However, many good theories originated in western academic world haven't yet been digested well by Chinese scholars. For this reason, this paper reviews each kind of important theory concerning white -collar working class of developed countries firstly. Then, it introduces the latest research findings on the white-collar workers in developing countries', and reveals the trend of theoretical transformation from labor-capital binary relations to the paradigm of labor politics in this research area. Finally, the researcher looks forwards to the future study of white-collar workers in China by providing some insights based on his own research work.

Abstract:In China in recent years,successive cases have been brought to court in which some university students required their parents to pay for their tuition or alimony.However,all the cases ended up failure,which is an alarming indication that something has gone wrong with the survival route of Chinese university students.The major cause for this is that the traditional Chinese culture is undergoing great changes,while the social financing policy constructed on the foundation of traditional culture is not well prepared for the survival route of college students.The writers of this article hold that the survival route of college students needs to be reconstructed by getting rid of the restrictions of the traditional culture.

Abstract:The requirement for “self-development” through the ceaseless acquisition of skills and credentials has long been central for young adults in China. However, due to the multiple and unpredictable demands of social institutions, many social actors also prime the cultivation of a self that does not succumb to immediate occupational and material impositions. In this article, I describe how young adults in a second-tier city pursue a model of personhood that brings together socio-economic competence and singular individuality. These individuals aspire to expand their range of experiences and their spatial mobility, thereby reifying an image of a self that transcends narrow social roles and networks. Drawing on Jean-Paul Sartre's dualistic philosophy, I analyse young adults’ attempts to realise individualised selves by destabilising their ontological ground. I argue that this phenomenon is magnified in China through widespread notions of a “moral crisis” and its supposable suppression of social actors’ agency.

Abstract:The so-called rational discourse of present-day society values individuals for their ability to see, speak and act. But this prioritisation of voice and bodily agency neglects the subjectivity of disabled people, especially the disabled elderly, and how they address their existential dilemma. Based on in-depth interviews and a survey of 260 disabled older adults in NT Township, Shanxi Province, China, this study explores 'productive ageing' among them. Drawing on the experience of rural older adults with disabilities, five aspects of productive ageing were identified and examined: economic productivity, caring for the family, volunteering, lifelong learning and community work. The results demonstrate that, given the current official discourse on elderly care, senior adults with disabilities see themselves as needing to become self-reliant by making themselves productive despite their age. They do this by acting within a personal social support network aimed at providing security and comfort in their old age.
