Abstract:In this paper, we resolve the planar dual Minkowski problem, proposed by Huang et al. (2016) [31] for all positive indices without any symmetry assumption. More precisely, given any q>0, and function f on S1, bounded by two positive constants, we show that there exists a convex body Ω in the plane, containing the origin in its interior, whose dual curvature measure C˜q(Ω,⋅) has density f. In particular, if f is smooth, then ∂Ω is also smooth.

Abstract:This paper concerns the Lp dual Minkowski problem, which amounts to solving a class of Monge-Ampère type equations on the sphere. Our main purpose is to show the existence of solutions to the problem for all p>0 via the study of related parabolic flows. We also discuss the problem when p<0. Abstract:In this paper, we first introduce a new concept of {\it dual quermassintegral sum function} of two star bodies and establish Minkowski's type inequality for dual quermassintegral sum of mixed intersection bodies, which is a general form of the Minkowski inequality for mixed intersection bodies. Then, we give the Aleksandrov--Fenchel inequality and the Brunn--Minkowski inequality for mixed intersection bodies and some related results. Our results present, for intersection bodies, all dual inequalities for Lutwak's mixed prosection bodies inequalities.

Abstract:We generalize the construction of affine polar graphs in two different ways to obtain partial difference sets and amorphic association schemes. In the first generalization we replace the quadratic form in the affine polar graph construction by higher degree homogeneous functions that are p-ary weakly regular bent. The second generalization uses a combination of quadratic forms and uniform cyclotomy. The negative Latin square type partial difference sets arising from the second generalization seem to be new.
Complex $L_p$-Intersection Bodies

Abstract:Interpolating between the classic notions of intersection and polar centroid bodies, (real) $L_p$-intersection bodies, for $-1<p<1$, play an important role in the dual $L_p$-Brunn--Minkowski theory. Inspired by the recent construction of complex centroid bodies, a complex version of $L_p$-intersection bodies, with range extended to $p>-2$, is introduced, interpolating between complex intersection and polar complex centroid bodies. It is shown that the complex $L_p$-intersection body of an $\mathbb{S}^1$-invariant convex body is pseudo-convex, if $-2<p<-1$ and convex, if $p\geq-1$. Moreover, intersection inequalities of Busemann--Petty type in the sense of Adamczak--Paouris--Pivovarov--Simanjuntak are deduced.

Abstract:Lutwak, Yang and Zhang \cite{LYZ2018} introduced the $L_p$ dual curvature measure that unifies several other geometric measures in dual Brunn-Minkowski theory and Brunn- Minkowski theory. Motivated by works in \cite{LYZ2018}, we consider the uniqueness and continuity of the solution to the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem. To extend the important work (Theorem \ref{uniquepolytope}) of LYZ to the case for general convex bodies, we establish some new Minkowski-type inequalities which are closely related to the optimization problem associated with the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem. When $q< p$, the uniqueness of the solution to the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem for general convex bodies is obtained. Moreover, we obtain the continuity of the solution to the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem for convex bodies.

Abstract:Lutwak, Yang and Zhang [23] introduced the concept of Lp dual curvature measure for convex bodies and star bodies, and studied the Minkowski problem. We in this paper establish a new unified concept, in briefly, the (p,q)-mixed quermassintegrals, via (p,q)-dual mixed curvature measure, and further have a deep discussion on Minkowski problem with respect to the (p,q)-dual mixed curvature measure. By the way, we derive at some important properties and geometric inequalities for (p,q)-mixed quermassintegrals.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduced the concept of $ C $-star bodies in a fixed pointed closed convex cone $ C $ and studied the dual mixed volume for $ C $-star bodies. For $ C $-star bodies, we established the corresponding dual Brunn-Minkowski inequality, dual Minkowski inequality, and dual Aleksandrov-Fenchel inequality. Moveover, we found that the dual Brunn-Minkowski inequality for $ C $-star bodies can strengthen the Brunn-Minkowski inequality for $ C $-coconvex sets.

Abstract:Wang and Ma introduced the notion of asymmetric -difference bodies. They further gave the extrema of volumes for the asymmetric -difference body and its polar. Thereafter, Shi and Wang obtained their versions of quermassintegrals and dual quermassintegrals. In this paper, we determine the extrema of the -quermassintegrals and dual -quermassintegrals for the asymmetric -difference bodies.

Abstract:Given a real number $q$ and a star body in the $n$-dimensional Euclidean space, the generalized dual curvature measure of a convex body was introduced by Lutwak-Yang-Zhang [43]. The corresponding generalized dual Minkowski problem is studied in this paper. By using variational methods, we solve the generalized dual Minkowski problem for $q<0$, and the even generalized dual Minkowski problem for $0\leq q\leq1$. We also obtain a sufficient condition for the existence of solutions to the even generalized dual Minkowski problem for $1<q<n$.

Abstract:We investigate a duality relation between floating and illumination bodies. The definitions of these two bodies suggest that the polar of the floating body should be similar to the illumination body of the polar. We consider this question for the class of centrally symmetric convex bodies. We provide precise estimates for $(B_p^n)$ and for centrally symmetric convex bodies with everywhere positive Gauss curvature. Our estimates show that equality of the polar of the floating body and the illumination body of the polar can only be achieved in the case of ellipsoids.

Polar Duality and Quasi-States: a Geometric Picture of Quantum Indeterminacy

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to suggest a new interpretation of quantum indeterminacy using the notion of polar duality from convex geometry. Our approach does not involve the usual variances and covariances, whose use to describe quantum uncertainties has been questioned by Uffink and Hilgevoord. We introduce instead the geometric notion of "quasi-states" which are related in a way that will be explained to the notion of "quantum blob" we have introduced in previous work. Considering the symmetries of the quasi-states leads to the definition of the canonical group of a quasi-state, which allows to classify them.

Abstract:Polar duality is a well-known concept from convex geometry and analysis. In the present paper, we study two symplectically covariant versions of polar duality keeping in mind their applications to quantum mechanics. The first variant makes use of the symplectic form on phase space and allows a precise study of the covariance matrix of a density operator. The latter is a fundamental object in quantum information theory., The second variant is a symplectically covariant version of the usual polar duality highlighting the role played by Lagrangian planes. It allows us to define the notion of "geometric quantum states" with are in bijection with generalized Gaussians.
