Abstract:In this short paper we present our solution for the Hello World case study of the Transformation Tool Contest (TTC) 2011 using the QVTR-XSLT tool. The tool supports editing and execution of the graphical notation of QVT Relations language. The case study consists of a set of simple transformation tasks which covers the basic functions required for a transformation language, such as creating, reading/querying, updating and deleting of model elements. We design a transformation for each of the tasks.

Abstract:This case for the Transformation Tool Contest 2013 is about evaluating the scope and usability of transformation languages and tools for a set of four tasks requiring very different capabilities. One task deals with typical model-to-model transformation problem, there's a model-to-text problem, there are two in-place transformation problems, and finally there's a task dealing with validation of models resulting from the transformations. The tasks build upon each other, but the transformation case project also provides all intermediate models, thus making it possible to skip tasks that are not suited for a particular tool, or for parallelizing the work among members of participating teams.

VT-revolution: Interactive Programming Tutorials Made Possible.

Abstract:Programming video tutorials showcase programming tasks and associated workflows. Although video tutorials are easy to create, it is often difficult to explore the captured workflows and interact with the programs in the videos. In this work, we propose a tool named VTRevolution -- an interactive programming video tutorial authoring system. VTRevolution has two components: 1) a tutorial authoring system leverages operating system level instrumentation to log workflow history while tutorial authors are creating programming video tutorials; 2) a tutorial watching system enhances the learning experience of video tutorials by providing operation history and timeline-based browsing interactions. Our tutorial authoring system does not require any special recording tools or instrumentation of target applications. Neither does it incur any additional burden on tutorial authors to add interactions to video tutorials. Given a video tutorial enriched with synchronously-logged workflow history, our tutorial watching system allows tutorial watchers to explore the captured workflows and interact with files and code in a way that is impossible for video data alone. We conduct a user study of 90 developers to evaluate the design and effectiveness of our system in helping developers learn programming knowledge in video tutorials.

Abstract:Recently model transformations quickly become large size and complex in structure. It is necessary to apply the modeling technique when developing transformations to manage the complexity. The paper proposes VisTML-a visual modeling language for model transformations. It provides six diagrams, which cover the whole lifecycle of transformation development and enable us to specify a transformation from various views and in different phases, i.e. the goal diagram, the transformation diagram, the rule diagram, the composition diagram, the test diagram, and the deployment diagram. We also provide a tool support and a real case of VisTML to illustrate the feasibility of VisTML. Besides, a comparison of VisTML, UML, and transML is presented at last.
HTR-VT: Handwritten Text Recognition with Vision Transformer

Abstract:We explore the application of Vision Transformer (ViT) for handwritten text recognition. The limited availability of labeled data in this domain poses challenges for achieving high performance solely relying on ViT. Previous transformer-based models required external data or extensive pre-training on large datasets to excel. To address this limitation, we introduce a data-efficient ViT method that uses only the encoder of the standard transformer. We find that incorporating a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for feature extraction instead of the original patch embedding and employ Sharpness-Aware Minimization (SAM) optimizer to ensure that the model can converge towards flatter minima and yield notable enhancements. Furthermore, our introduction of the span mask technique, which masks interconnected features in the feature map, acts as an effective regularizer. Empirically, our approach competes favorably with traditional CNN-based models on small datasets like IAM and READ2016. Additionally, it establishes a new benchmark on the LAM dataset, currently the largest dataset with 19,830 training text lines. Abstract:Epsilon is an extensible platform of integrated and task-specific languages for model management. With solutions to the 2011 TTC Hello World case, this paper demonstrates some of the key features of the Epsilon Object Language (an extension and reworking of OCL), which is at the core of Epsilon. In addition, the paper introduces several of the task-specific languages provided by Epsilon including the Epsilon Generation Language (for model-to-text transformation), the Epsilon Validation Language (for model validation) and Epsilon Flock (for model migration).

Abstract:Model transformations ,the core operations within model‐driven development ,are usually realized as special kinds of programs .They can be used to achieve diverse conversions among models , codes ,and even structural documents .With the rapid progress in model‐driven methodology ,model transformations are being applied to more and more complicated problems in industrial projects .As a result ,they become large in scale and have complex structures .To handle the development complexity of large transformation ,a graphical modeling language that can serve as a user‐friendly notation for analyzing and designing transformations is required . This paper proposes VisTML (the visual transformation modeling language) ,a visual modeling language for model transformation programs . VisTML is comprised by seven diagrams , including goal diagram , transformation declaration diagram ,model type diagram ,rule diagram ,composite transformation diagram ,testing diagram ,and configuration diagram ,each of which includes a set of concepts derived from concrete transformation technologies .VisT M L is able to cover all the major phases w hen a transformation is being developed . It supports developers to describe a transformation from various viewpoints at different abstraction level .Modeling a transformation using VisTML can help developers control the complexity and facilitate their communication .Then ,the tool support of VisTML named TModeler is also presented . At last ,three case studies are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and the effectiveness of VisTML .
GRoundTram: an Integrated Framework for Developing Well-Behaved Bidirectional Model Transformations

Abstract:Bidirectional model transformation is useful for maintaining consistency between two models, and has many potential applications in software development including model synchronization, round-trip engineering, and software evolution. Despite these attractive uses, the lack of a practical tool support for systematic development of well-behaved and efficient bidirectional model transformation prevents it from being widely used. In this paper, we solve this problem by proposing an integrated framework called GRoundTram, which is carefully designed and implemented for compositional development of well-behaved and efficient bidirectional model transformations. GRoundTram is built upon a well-founded bidirectional framework, and is equipped with a user-friendly language for coding bidirectional model transformation, a new tool for validating both models and bidirectional model transformations, an optimization mechanism for improving efficiency, and a powerful debugging environment for testing bidirectional behavior. GRoundTram has been used by people of other groups and their results show its usefulness in practice.
VT-Former: An Exploratory Study on Vehicle Trajectory Prediction for Highway Surveillance through Graph Isomorphism and Transformer

Abstract:Enhancing roadway safety has become an essential computer vision focus area for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). As a part of ITS, Vehicle Trajectory Prediction (VTP) aims to forecast a vehicle's future positions based on its past and current movements. VTP is a pivotal element for road safety, aiding in applications such as traffic management, accident prevention, work-zone safety, and energy optimization. While most works in this field focus on autonomous driving, with the growing number of surveillance cameras, another sub-field emerges for surveillance VTP with its own set of challenges. In this paper, we introduce VT-Former, a novel transformer-based VTP approach for highway safety and surveillance. In addition to utilizing transformers to capture long-range temporal patterns, a new Graph Attentive Tokenization (GAT) module has been proposed to capture intricate social interactions among vehicles. This study seeks to explore both the advantages and the limitations inherent in combining transformer architecture with graphs for VTP. Our investigation, conducted across three benchmark datasets from diverse surveillance viewpoints, showcases the State-of-the-Art (SotA) or comparable performance of VT-Former in predicting vehicle trajectories. This study underscores the potential of VT-Former and its architecture, opening new avenues for future research and exploration.

Instant and Incremental QVT Transformation for Runtime Models

Abstract:As a dynamic representation of the running system, a runtime model provides a model-based interface to monitor and control the system. A key issue for runtime models is to maintain their causal connections with the running system. That means when the systems change, the models should change accordingly, and vice versa. However, for the abstract runtime models that are heterogeneous to their target systems, it is challenging to maintain such causal connections. This paper presents a model-transformation-based approach to maintaining causal connections for abstract runtime models. We define a new instant and incremental transformation semantics for the QVT-Relational language, according to the requirements of runtime models, and develop the transformation algorithm following this semantics. We implement this approach on the mediniQVT transformation engine, and apply it to provide the runtime model for an intelligent office system named SmartLab.
