Abstract:Low-temperature selective catalytic reduction with NH3 (LT-SCR) is a promising approach for NOx remediation. This work utilized bimetallic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to prepare CeMOx (M=Ti, Cu) catalysts allowing the homogeneous distribution of promoters to investigate LT-SCR explicitly. The strong interfacial interaction between nanoscale-mixed components was characterized on CeTiOx by HRTEM, micro-Raman, and XPS, resulting in high acidity and good redox properties with abundant Ce3+ and Ti4+. It obtained over 80% conversion from 180 degrees C to 300 degrees C with 100% N2 selectivity, and maintained stable performance in SO2/H2O at a high GHSV of 150,000 h-1. In situ DRIFTS reveals that NH3 adsorption was promoted on CeTiOx, which accelerated reaction between NOx and adsorbed NH3 via Eley-Rideal mechanism. Meanwhile, the aliovalent substitution of ceria by Cu2+ was observed on CeCuOx, forming oxygen vacancies. Its high redox properties enhanced NOx conversion by Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism, but triggered NH3 peroxidation, leading to poor N2 selectivity.
Mnox/Ceo2/Sio2 Catalysts Prepared by Adsorption Phase Reaction Technique for Selective Catalytic Reduction of Nox at Low-Temperature

Abstract:MnOx/CeO2/SiO2 catalysts were prepared by the adsorption phase reaction technique and were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and Raman spectroscopy. HRTEM showed that MnOx and CeO2 particles were uniformly coated on the surface of SiO2. The XRD spectra showed that the intensity of the Mn3O4 diffraction peaks gradually decreased and then completely disappeared with the increasment of the CeO2 content, which indicated that CeO2 reduced the crystallinity of MnOx and improved the dispersibility of MnOx. Raman spectroscopy indicated that Mn ions on the surface of catalysts could enter into the lattice of CeO2, replace oxygen ions, and form oxygen vacancies. With the increasment of CeO2 content, the density of oxygen vacancies initially increased and then decreased. We used the catalysts for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx with NH3. The catalytic activity initially increased and then decreased with the increasment of CeO2 content, similar to the change in the density of oxygen vacancies. Thus, the catalytic activity of the MnOx/CeO2/SiO2 catalysts increases with increasing the density of oxygen vacancies.

Abstract:A series of MoO3-doped CeO2–ZrO2 catalysts were investigated for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH3 (NH3-SCR). It was found that the added MoO3 significantly enhanced the activity of CeO2–ZrO2 catalyst for NH3-SCR of NOx in a wide temperature range and the optimum MoO3 loading is 5%. The highly dispersed MoO3 not only resulted in more Lewis acid and Brønsted acid sites formed on the catalyst surface, but also increased the redox property of the catalyst, all of which account for the enhanced SCR activity.

Abstract:Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO x with NH3 has been widely used for the removal of NO x . Because of the inevitable disadvantages of conventional V2O5-WO3(MoO3)/TiO2 catalysts such as poor low-temperature SCR activity and toxicity of vanadium, as well as the high-cost and over-strong NH3 adsorption of zeolite catalysts, the development of efficient and non-toxic metal oxide SCR catalysts is highly demanded. Previously, we have developed an environmentally-benign CeO2-SiO2 mixed-oxide SCR catalyst (CeSi2), which exhibited superior SO2 resistance ability. However, the low-temperature SCR activity on CeSi2 was not that satisfactory. In this work, we proposed a new strategy of Mo doping to improve the low-temperature SCR activity on CeSi2, which was very crucial for its practical application. By a simple co-precipitation method, a homogenous Mo-Ce-Si mixed-oxide catalyst was prepared. The Mo doping could significantly enhance the NH3-SCR activity on CeSi2 below 250 °C, and the optimal catalyst was Mo0.1CeSi2, which could achieve 80% NO x conversion at 200 °C. Mo0.1CeSi2 also exhibited superior N2 selectivity and resistance to SO2/H2O poisoning. Via a series of characterizations, it was found that the redox properties and surface acidity on CeSi2 by Mo doping, which accounted for the enhanced low-temperature NH3-SCR activity on Mo0.1CeSi2. The reaction mechanism on Mo0.1CeSi2 was also fully revealed by in situ DRIFTS experiments. This work provided a new insight for the development of efficient low-temperature SCR catalysts with superior SO2 resistance ability.

Abstract:A series of Ce-Mo-Ti mixed oxide catalysts prepared by a homogeneous precipitation method were evaluated for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with NH3. These catalysts were characterized by BET, XRD, XPS, SEM, TEM and H-2-TPR. The experimental results indicated that the optimal Ce-Mo-Ti mixed oxide catalyst (Ce40Mo10Ti) exhibited excellent SCR activity in a wide temperature range of 250-450 degrees C as well as strong resistance to high gas hourly space velocity, 10% H2O or/and 1000 ppm SO2. The introduction of Mo could enhance redox property and increase the amount of Ce3+, accompanied by the increment of oxygen vacancies and adsorbed oxygen species on the catalyst surface, which were advantageous to the SCR reaction over Ce-Mo-Ti oxide catalyst. In addition, good dispersion of Ce and Mo species on TiO2 and their synergetic interaction also contributed to its remarkable NH3-SCR performance. (C) 2018 Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers. Abstract:Mo-doped Ce/GE catalysts with different loading amounts were prepared by impregnation method, which were examined as catalysts in the selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH3 (NH3-SCR). Furthermore, the intrinsic mechanism of Mo-doped Ce/GE catalysts for enhancing SCR activity was preliminarily investigated. It was found that the addition of Mo can increase the ratio of n(Ce)(3+)/(n(Ce)(3+)+n(Ce)(4+)), the oxygen content on the surface and the acid sites of the catalyst, thus enhancing SCR activity. Compared with 5Ce/GE and 5Mo/GE, 5Ce-5Mo/GE catalyst showed more outstanding catalytic activity. In addition, the catalyst exhibited the best activity and almost 99% conversion of NOx at 250 degrees C, when the loading amount is 5%. 5Ce-5Mo/GE catalyst exhibited good sulfur resistance performance.
In Situ DRIFTS Studies of NH3-SCR Mechanism over V2O5-CeO2/TiO2-ZrO2 Catalysts for Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx

Abstract:TiO2-ZrO2 (Ti-Zr) carrier was prepared by a co-precipitation method and 1 wt. % V2O5 and 0.2 CeO2 (the Mole ratio of Ce to Ti-Zr) was impregnated to obtain the V2O5-CeO2/TiO2-ZrO2 catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH3. The transient activity tests and the in situ DRIFTS (diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy) analyses were employed to explore the NH3-SCR (selective catalytic reduction) mechanism systematically, and by designing various conditions of single or mixing feeding gas and pre-treatment ways, a possible pathway of NOx reduction was proposed. It was found that NH3 exhibited a competitive advantage over NO in its adsorption on the catalyst surface, and could form an active intermediate substance of -NH2. More acid sites and intermediate reaction species (-NH2), at lower temperatures, significantly promoted the SCR activity of the V2O5-0.2CeO2/TiO2-ZrO2 catalyst. The presence of O2 could promote the conversion of NO to NO2, while NO2 was easier to reduce. The co-existence of NH3 and O2 resulted in the NH3 adsorption strength being lower, as compared to tests without O2, since O2 could occupy a part of the active site. Due to CeO2’s excellent oxygen storage-release capacity, NH3 adsorption was weakened, in comparison to the 1 wt. % V2O5-0.2CeO2/TiO2-ZrO2 catalyst. If NOx were to be pre-adsorbed in the catalyst, the formation of nitrate and nitro species would be difficult to desorb, which would greatly hinder the SCR reaction. All the findings concluded that NH3-SCR worked mainly through the Eley-Rideal (E-R) mechanism.
Promoting Metal Oxides–zeolite Electron Interaction on MnCeOx/HY Catalyst for Boosting Nitrogen Oxides Reduction

Abstract:The MnOx-CeO2 metal oxides are considered as promising alternative catalysts for selective catalytic reduction with NH3 (NH3-SCR) to remove NOx due to its excellent low-temperature performance. However, their strong oxidative ability can lead to NH3 over-oxidation, narrowing the active temperature range and reducing N2 selectivity. Moreover, their weak surface acidity hampers medium to high-temperature activity and alkali metal resistance. Hence, in this study, MnCeOx metal oxides were coupled with HY zeolite to create MnCeOx/HY, demonstrating excellent NH3-SCR performance. The high dispersion of metal oxides on the zeolite surface and their close integration promoted strong electron interaction, effectively reducing oxygen vacancies and surface adsorbed oxygen concentrations. Consequently, the oxidative ability of active metal oxides was appropriately weakened, suppressing undesirable side reactions. MnCeOx/HY also notably suppressed NO adsorption and nitrate formation, promoting the catalytic reaction solely through the E-R mechanism and enhancing N2 selectivity. The abundant strong acid sites on the zeolite surface facilitates NH3 adsorption at moderate to high temperatures, notably expanding the active temperature window. Furthermore, the acid sites of HY zeolite serve as sacrificial sites, preferentially reacting with alkali metals, thus exhibiting excellent resistance to alkali metal poisoning on MnCeOx/HY. Combining with the DFT results, the structure-activity relationships in this study also reveal the importance of the effective synergy between acid sites and redox sites for optimal catalytic performance, offering valuable insights into the development of highly active and alkali-resistant denitrification catalysts.
Modification of CrCeOx with Mo: Improved SO2 resistance and N2 selectivity for NH3-SCR at medium-low temperature

Abstract:Medium and low temperature NH3-SCR is an effective method for the nitrogen oxides (NOx) removal in industrial furnaces. The chromium (Cr) and cerium (Ce) based catalysts perform excellent NH3-SCR potential at medium and low temperature, but its sulfur resistance and N2 selectivity need to be further improved. In this manuscript, Mo(0.3)-CrCeOx catalyst was synthesized via citric acid method, showed high catalytic activity with excellent sulfur resistance and N2 selectivity. The mechanism of Mo doping was investigated. The highly dispersed amorphous MoO3 was found, forming Mo-O-Ce structure and generating more strong acid sites. The mechanism of Mo doping for enhanced SO2 resistance and N2 selectivity was further investigated by in-situ DRIFTS. By effectively modulating the catalyst basicity, the generation of the active intermediate cis-N2O22- species was promoted. The change from E-R to L-H mechanism is the key. The strong oxidation of Cr6+ species was appropriately suppressed, thus the N2 selectivity was improved. It also prevents SO2 from competing for basic sites on Cr species. In a word, all the improved performance were attributed to Mo doping. Finally, the SCR process is proposed.

Selective Catalytic Reduction of NO over Mo/ZSM-5 Catalyst

Abstract:The objective of this work is to study the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx from diesel engine emissions over a new catalyst system and to find out the relationship between the activity of the catalyst and its surface structure. The catalysts doped with different metal elements (Mo, Sn and Ni) on HZSM-5 were prepared by using impregnation method. It was found that the Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst is the best one for NO decomposition reaction among Sn/ZSM-5, Mo/ZSM-5 and Ni/ZSM-5. Thus, four catalyst samples with Mo as active component were also prepared through different methods (ion-migration, impregnation, physically mixing and synthesizing). The results showed that, with NH3 as a reductant, and under the conditions of 0.06% NO-3.5 O-2-0.06%NH3-96.38%Ar and q(V)(feed)=300 ml/min, the catalyst prepared through ion-migration has the highest activity for SCR of NO and the NO conversion reaches to 95% at 360degreesC. The Mo/ZSM-5 samples were characterized by using XRD, SEM, ICP and EDS techniques respectively. The results indicated that the catalyst prepared through ion-migration has better dispersion of Mo on the inner surface of ZSM-5 than those prepared through other methods. This is probably responsible for its higher catalytic activity in SCR of NO. Then it was tentatively supposed that some special structure, which can favor the SCR of NO, may be in existence on the catalyst surface. On the other hand, the catalyst prepared through synthesis method showed good catalytic performance at low temperature, although its catalytic activity is lower than that of the sample prepared through ion-migration.
Effect of metal elements doping on the CePO4 catalysts for selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3

Abstract:A series of Metals doped M-CePO4 (M=Zr, Co, Mo, Cu) catalysts were prepared via the coprecipitation method for selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3 (NH3-SCR). The results showed that the NOx conversion of M-CePO4 were higher than that of CePO4, especially the Mo-CePO4 catalysts exhibited the best low-temperature activity and N2 selectivity, the Mo-CePO4 catalysts can reach about 99% at 300 °C and excellent 70 h long stability with the coexistence of SO2 and H2O. The effect of metal elements doping on physiochemical properties of catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, Raman, TEM, XPS, H2-TPR and NH3-TPD. SEM and TEM analysis. The results showed that part of M ions doped into CePO4 lattice resulted in lattice shrinkage. More importantly, the MOx species could not only increased the relative content of Ce3+ and surface adsorption oxygen (O′) of M-CePO4 catalysts, but also increased the specific surface area of the catalysts. It could provide more reaction sites for active gas to promote the activation of NH3 and enhance oxidation–reduction performance. The in-situ DRIFTS results suggested that NH3 were adsorbed on both Lewis and Bronsted acid sites which can easily react with NOx gas. The NO species were adsorbed on Mo-CePO4 in the form of bidentate nitrate. The main reactants of Mo-CePO4 catalysts were NH3 linked to Lewis acid sites and bidentate nitrate species on the catalytic surface. The Eley–Rideal and Langmuir–Hinshelwood mechanisms coexisted in the SCR reaction route.

Abstract:Cu/ZSM-5 and CeO2-modified Cu/ZSM-5 catalysts were prepared by a wetness impregnation method. The addition of CeO2 was found to enhance the NOx selective catalytic reduction (SCR) activity of the catalyst at low temperatures, but the high-temperature activity was weakened. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen physisorption, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), H2 temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and NH3 temperature-programmed desorption (TPD). The results showed that more CuO clusters instead of isolated Cu2+ species were obtained on the modified catalyst. These active CuO clusters, as well as the Cu-Ce synergistic effect, improved the redox property of the catalyst and low-temperatures SCR activity via promoting the oxidation of NO to NO2 and fast SCR reaction. The loss in high-temperatures activity was attributed to the enhanced competitive oxidation of NH3 by O2 and decreased surface acidity of the catalyst.
Effect of Mo contents on properties of Mo/ZSM-5 zeolite catalyst for NOx reduction

Abstract:Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts with different Mo content were prepared by impregnation method. The effect of Mo content on the property of Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts and their performance for selective catalytic reduction(SCR) of NO with ammonia was investigated by XRD, ICP, XPS and NO-TPD respectively. The results showed that the catalytic activity of Mo/ZSM-5 for SCR of NO is strongly influenced by the Mo loading in HZSM-5 zeolites. The NOx conversion reached the highest value of 64.2% at 375 degrees C when Mo content is about 10.9%, and the temperatures at which the maximum of NOx conversion obtained were declined with the increase of Mo content. From XRD results, it can be seen that it exhibits the distinct interaction between Mo and HZSM-5 when Mo content is about 10.9% . This may result in a suitable phase structure in Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst, which is advantageous for NO reduction. XPS and NO-TPD results also showed that the catalytic activity of Mo/ZSM-5 may be related to the Mo percent on the surface.
Novel shielding and synergy effects of Mn-Ce oxides confined in mesoporous zeolite for low temperature selective catalytic reduction of NOx with enhanced SO2/H2O tolerance

Abstract:Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are a primary source of air pollutants from combustion of fossil fuels. Though Mn-Ce based catalysts exhibit superior low temperature activities, their water and SO2 tolerance is inferior to other metal oxide catalysts, due to their strong water adsorption and sulfate species formation tendency at low reaction temperatures. Herein, a confinement strategy was adopted to design and synthesize a novel Mn-Ce based catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3. The confined MnCeOx catalyst was assembled with a simple one pot method, using a mesoporous zeolite (ZSM-5) as the shell and Mn-Ce oxides as the active core (MnCeOx@Z5). Owing to the zeolite shell's shielding effect and the synergy between the alumina-silica zeolite shell's acidic properties and the mixed oxide cores' redox properties, the novel MnCeOx@Z5 catalyst displayed enhanced water and SO2 resistance as compared to the MnCeOx supported on ZSM-5 (MnCeOx/Z5) and its precursor (MnCeOx@Al-SiO2). Evidently, the zeolite sheath hinders sulfate species formation, and this phenomenon was further investigated by in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (In situ DRIFTS). The novel shielding and acid-redox synergy effect/strategy adopted in this work can be applied to design other high performance deNOx catalysts for air pollution control.

Abstract:The three dimensional ordered macroporous (3DOM) Ce0.75Zr0.2M0.05O2-delta (M = Fe, Cu, Mn, Co) is synthesized by a colloidal crystal template method for comparative study on selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with NH3. The obtained catalysts are mainly investigated by the measurements of X-ray diffraction (XRD), N-2 sorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), temperature-programmed reduction by hydrogen (H-2-TPR), as well as temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD). The XRD, XPS and TPR analysis clarified the dopants are effectively doped into the Ce-Zr oxide solid solution, which contribute to the strong synergistic effect between the dopants and Ce-Zr oxides. Moreover, higher O-alpha/(O-alpha + O-beta) ratio, improved surface reducibility and enhanced surface acidity are observed after the in situ doping. These facts lead to a better low temperature catalytic performance for the Ce0.75Zr0.2M0.05O2-delta catalysts. Particularly, the Co doped catalysts exhibit the highest active oxygen species, the highest reducibility as well as the strongest NH3 absorption ability, which corresponds to the significant increase of low temperature activity. Meanwhile, the specific surface area and pore volume are increased efficiently by Fe and Mn doping, which broadens the operating temperature window. Moreover, the strong interaction between the dopants and the Ce-Zr oxide solid solution could be ascribed to the good stability of those catalysts doped with Fe, Mn and Co.

Abstract:Sb-containing catalysts (SbZrOx (SbZr), SbCeOx (SbCe), SbCeZrOx (SbCeZr)) were prepared by citric acid method and investigated for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx with NH3 (NH3-SCR). SbCeZr outperformed SbZr and SbCe and exhibited the highest activity with 80% NO conversion in the temperature window of 202–422 °C. Meanwhile, it also had good thermal stability and resistance against H2O and SO2. Various characterization methods, such as XRD, XPS, H2-TPR, NH3-TPD, and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform (DRIFT), were applied to understand their different behavior in NOx removal. The presence of Sb in the metal oxides led to the difference in acid distribution and redox property, which closely related with the NH3 adsorption and NO oxidation. Brønsted acid and Lewis acid were evenly distributed on SbCe, while Brønsted acid dominated on SbCeZr. Compared with Brønsted acid, Lewis acid was slightly active in NH3-SCR. The competition between NH3 adsorption and NO oxidation was dependent on SbOx and metal oxides, which were found on SbCe while not on SbCeZr.

Improved Activity and SO 2 Resistance by Sm-Modulated Redox of MnCeSmTiO x Mesoporous Amorphous Oxides for Low-Temperature NH 3 -SCR of NO

Abstract:The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technique that converts NOx from the outlet of industrial boilers at low temperature (<200 °C) requires catalysts that possess both the oxidization property of NOx and the adsorption ability to NH3. However, owing to unsuitable redox capacity, most NH3-SCR catalysts such as MnO2/TiO2 and MnO2–CeO2/TiO2 suffer from poor activity and N2 selectivity and SO2 poisoning. Benefiting from constructing mesoporous MnCeSmTiOx amorphous mixed oxides by the coprecipitation method, enhanced SO2-tolerant low-temperature NH3-SCR performance was achieved. The MnCeSmTiOx catalysts have an amorphous and mesoporous structure with a BET surface area of 214 m2·g–1. The NO conversion could reach nearly 100% at 140–320 °C and maintain >90% at 400 °C and a gas hourly space velocity of 80,000 h–1. The selectivity of N2 could be maintained at ≈100% at 100–320 °C and stay at >90% up to 400 °C. Besides, the MnCeSmTiOx catalyst preserves higher catalytic performance after introducing H2O and SO2 compared with the catalysts without adding Sm. The redox properties, acidic properties, and reaction intermediates of catalysts were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction, ammonia temperature-programmed desorption (NH3-TPD), O2-TPD, pyridine-IR, thermogravimetry–differential scanning calorimetry, and diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform. The synergistic effect of the Lewis acid sites and oxidation catalytic sites of mixed oxides serves for the conversion of NO to N2 by following the Langmuir–Hinshelwood mechanism. Doping Sm into MnCeSmTiOx can increase oxygen vacancies and transfer electrons to Mn4+ and Ce4+, which facilities the formation of active adsorbed NO2, bidentate nitrate, and bridging nitrate intermediates and suppresses SO2 poisoning by inhibiting the oxidation of SO2 by Mn4+ and Ce4+. Abstract:In this work, the Co–Al spinel catalyst and M–Co–Al (M = Fe and Ce) catalysts were synthesized to explore their catalytic performance for the NH 3 -SCR reaction. The physicochemical properties of these catalysts were further characterized utilizing N 2 -physisorption, XRD, NH 3 -TPD, H 2 -TPR, XPS, SEM, and EDS mapping. The results show that Fe/Ce addition has a significant influence on the catalytic performance and physicochemical properties of catalysts. The Co-Al spinel catalyst yields the lowest catalytic performance, while the Fe–Co–Al catalyst exhibits the best catalytic performance and more than 93% NO x conversion can be obtained in the range of 240–270 °C. Meanwhile, Fe or Ce addition can promote the oxidation of NO to NO 2 and inhibit the NH 3 oxidation reaction. The characterization results indicate that the addition of Fe or Ce remarkably reduces the crystallinity of spinel oxides and facilitates the dispersion of active species. Furthermore, the synergistic interaction between Fe/Ce and Co increases the ratio of O β /(O α + O β ) and Co 3+ /(Co 3+ + Co 2+ ), which can accelerate the catalytic performance of catalysts. Finally, better redox properties and moderate surface acidity of catalysts can be obtained with the addition of Fe or Ce. All of the mentioned above contribute to the promoted catalytic performance of catalysts and such an effect is more pronounced with Fe doping.

A novel Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst for NOx catalytic reduction with ammonia

Abstract:The Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts with different Cu/Mo ratios were prepared by wet impregnation method, and their catalytic performance for SCR of NO was studied. Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 was effective for NOx catalytic reduction with ammonia, especially when Cu/Mo ratio was ∼ 1.5:1. It not only exhibited an extremely high catalytic activity, but also showed good stability for O2. The highest activity could be kept at 300°-550°C, in which the NO conversion reached at least 91%. The highest value reached 96.4%. XRD showed that there is a maximum dispersion for Cu species when Cu/Mo ratio was 1.5:1, and an interaction between Cu and Mo along with HZSM-5 in Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 might be present. This might result in a special crystalline-structure, favorable for SCR of NOx over Cu-Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst. NO2 could not be produced under the reaction condition, indicating that NO was directly reduced to nitrogen, not by a route in which NO was first oxidated to NO2 and then reduced.

Abstract:In this paper, the Co x Mn1Ce y composite oxide catalyst was synthesized by the co-precipitation method. The structure–activity relationship of the catalyst was analyzed by characterization methods such as XRD, Raman, H 2 -TPR, NH 3 /NO x -TPD, XPS, and in situ DRIFTS. The results showed that the Co3Mn1Ce1 catalyst resisted high space velocity, water, and sulfur. In addition, Ce doping could effectively increase the specific surface area of the catalyst. In a sulfur-containing atmosphere, Ce could preferentially react with SO 2 and act as a sacrifice site to protect the active components from toxicity. Co-doping greatly enhanced the redox capacity of the catalyst and increased the chemisorbed oxygen (O S ) content on the surface of catalysts. Co-presence of Co and Ce increased the content of surface-active Mn species, which further effectively improved the adsorption capacity of the catalyst for NH 3 and NO reactants. In situ DRIFTS results showed that the reaction on the Co3Mn1Ce1 catalyst followed both the Langmuir–Hinshelwood and Eley–Rideal mechanisms.
