Abstract:Goncharov proved an explicit formula for the coproduct in the Hopf algebra of motivic iterated integrals. Yamamoto introduced Yamamoto's integral which generalizes iterated integrals and gave a new integral expression for multiple zeta star values using Yamamoto's integral. In this paper, we consider the motivic version of Yamamoto's integral and generalize Goncharov's coproduct formula to those motivic integrals. As an example, we will compute the coproduct of a certain type of Schur multiple zeta values.

Abstract:This article presents two key computations in MW-motivic cohomology. Firstly, we compute the MW-motivic cohomology of the symplectic groups $Sp_{2n}$ for any $n\in\mathbb{N}$ using the $Sp$-orientation and the associated Borel classes. Secondly, following the classical computations and using the analogue in $\mathbb{A}^1$-homotopy of the Leray spectral sequence, we compute the $\eta$-inverted MW-motivic cohomology of general Stiefel varieties, obtaining in particular the computation of the $\eta$-inverted MW-motivic cohomology of the general linear groups $GL_n$ and the special linear groups $SL_n$ for any $n\in\mathbb{N}$. Finally, we determine the multiplicative structures of these total cohomology groups.

Abstract:We consider the generating function $\Phi^{(N)}$ for the reciprocals $N$-th power of factorials. We show a connection of product formulas for such series with the periods for certain families of algebraic hypersurfaces. For these families we describe their singular loci. We show that these singular loci are given by zeros of the Buchstaber-Rees polynomials, which define $N$-valued group laws. We describe a generalized Frobenius method and use it to obtain special expansions for multiplication kernels in the sense of Kontsevich. Using these expansions we provide some experimental results that connect $N$-Bessel kernels and the hierarchies of the palindromic unimodal polynomials. We study the properties of such polynomials and conjecture positivity of their roots. We also discuss the connection with Kloosterman motives as a version of the mirror duality.

Abstract:Already in the 1960s Grothendieck understood that one could obtain an almost entirely satisfactory theory of motives over a finite field when one assumes the full Tate conjecture. In this note we prove a similar result for motivic complexes. In particular Beilinson's Q-algebra of "correspondences at the generic point" is then defined for all connected varieties. We compute this for all smooth projective varieties (hence also for varieties birational to such a variety).

Abstract:In this paper, we recall Lepowsky's and Wakimoto's product character formulas formulated in a new way by using arrays of specialized weighted crystals of negative roots for affine Lie algebras of type $C_l^{(1)}$, $D_{l+1}^{(2)}$ and $A_{2l}^{(2)}$. Lepowsky-Wakimoto's infinite periodic products appear as one side of (conjectured) Rogers-Ramanujan-type combinatorial identities for affine Lie algebras of type $C_l^{(1)}$.

Motivic Gauss and Jacobi sums

Abstract:We study the Gauss and Jacobi sums from a viewpoint of motives. We exhibit isomorphisms between Chow motives arising from the Artin-Schreier curve and the Fermat varieties over a finite field, that can be regarded as (and yield a new proof of) classically known relations among Gauss and Jacobi sums such as Davenport-Hasse's multiplication formula. As a key step, we define motivic analogues of the Gauss and Jacobi sums as algebraic correspondences, and show that they represent the Frobenius endomorphisms of such motives. This generalizes Coleman's result for curves. These results are applied to investigate the group of invertible Chow motives with coefficients in a cyclotomic field.

Abstract:We employ combinatorial techniques to present an explicit formula for the coefficients in front of Chern classes involving in the Hattori-Stong integrability conditions. We also give an evenness condition for the signature of stably almost-complex manifolds in terms of Chern numbers. As an application, it can be showed that the signature of a $2n$-dimensional stably almost-complex manifold whose possibly nonzero Chern numbers being $c_n$ and $c_ic_{n-i}$ is even, which particularly rules out the existence of such structure on rational projective planes. Some other related results and remarks are also discussed in this article.

Positive formula for the product of conjugacy classes on the unitary group

Abstract:The convolution product of two conjugacy classes of the unitary group $U_n$ is described by a probability distribution on the space of central measures. Relating this convolution to the quantum cohomology of Grassmannians and using recent results describing the structure constants of the latter, we give a manifestly positive formula for the density of the probability distribution for the product of generic conjugacy classes. In the same flavor as the hive model of Knutson and Tao, this formula is given in terms of a subtraction-free sum of volumes of explicit polytopes. As a consequence, this expression also provides a positive and explicit formula for the volume of $SU_n$-valued flat connections on the three-holed two dimensional sphere, which was first given by Witten in terms of an infinite sum of characters.

Waldspurger formulas in higher cohomology

Abstract:The classical Waldspurger formula, which computes periods of quaternionic automorphic forms in maximal torus, has been used in a wide variety of arithmetic applications, such as the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture in rank 0 situations. This is why this formula is considered the rank 0 analogue of the celebrated Gross-Zagier formula. On the other hand, Eichler-Shimura correspondence allows us to interpret this quaternionic automorphic form as a cocycle in higher cohomology spaces of certain arithmetic groups. In this way we can realize the corresponding automorphic representation in the etale cohomology of certain Shimura varieties. In this work we find a formula, analogous to that of Waldspurger, which relates cap-products of this cocycle and fundamental classes associated with maximal torus with special values of Rankin-Selberg L-functions.

Abstract:Milne's correcting factor is a numerical invariant playing an important role in formulas for special values of zeta functions of varieties over finite fields. We show that Milne's factor is simply the Euler characteristic of the derived de Rham complex (relative to $\mathbb{Z}$) modulo the Hodge filtration.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, Lawson homology and morphic cohomology are defined for Chow motives. As consequences, we rederive the projective bundle formula proved by Friedlander and Gabber, the blowup formula for Lawson homology by the first author, and a formula for certain homogeneous projective varieties, including those admitting cellular decompositions. We also define rational coefficient Lawson homology and morphic cohomology for Chow motives of finite quotient varieties. As a consequence, we obtain a formula for the Hilbert scheme of points on a smooth complex projective surface. We also discuss generic finite maps, in particular, we give examples of self‐product of smooth projective curves with nontrivial Griffiths groups by using a result of Ceresa. © 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Abstract:The well-known Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff theorem in Lie theory says that the logarithm of a noncommutative product e X e Y can be expressed in terms of iterated commutators of X and Y. This paper provides a gentle introduction t{ó} Ecalle's mould calculus and shows how it allows for a short proof of the above result, together with the classical Dynkin explicit formula [Dy47] for the logarithm, as well as another formula recently obtained by T. Kimura [Ki17] for the product of exponentials itself. We also analyse the relation between the two formulas and indicate their mould calculus generalization to a product of more exponentials.

Explicit formulas for the Grothendieck class of $\overline{\mathcal M}_{0,n}$

Abstract:We obtain explicit expressions for the class in the Grothendieck group of varieties of the moduli space of genus 0 stable curves with n marked points. This information is equivalent to the Poincaré polynomial; it implies explicit expressions for the Betti numbers of the moduli space in terms of Stirling numbers or, alternatively, Bernoulli numbers. The expressions are obtained by solving a differential equation characterizing the generating function for the Grothendieck class as shown in work of Yuri Manin from the 1990s. This differential equation is equivalent to S. Keel's recursion for the Betti numbers of these moduli spaces. Our proof reduces the solution to two combinatorial identities which follow from applications of Lagrange series. We also study generating functions for the individual Betti numbers. In previous work it had been shown that these functions are determined by a set of polynomials with positive rational coefficients, which are conjecturally log-concave. We verify this conjecture for many infinite families of these polynomials, corresponding to the generating functions for the $2k$-Betti numbers of the moduli spaces for all $k\le 100$. Further, studying these polynomials allows us to prove that the generating function for the Grothendieck class of the moduli spaces may be written as a series of rational functions in the Lefschetz motive and the principal branch of the Lambert W-function. We include an interpretation of the main result in terms of Stirling matrices and a discussion of the Euler characteristic of the moduli space.

Additivity and Double Coset formulae for the Motivic and Étale Becker-Gottlieb transfer

Abstract:In this paper, which is a continuation of earlier work by the first author and Gunnar Carlsson, one of the first results we establish is the additivity of the motivic Becker-Gottlieb transfer, as well as their étale realizations. This extends the additivity results the authors already established for the corresponding traces. We then apply this to derive several important consequences: for example, in addition to obtaining the analogues of various double coset formulae known in the classical setting of algebraic topology, we also obtain applications to Brauer groups of homogeneous spaces associated to reductive groups over separably closed fields. We also consider the relationship between the transfer on schemes provided with a compatible action by a $1$-parameter subgroup and the transfer associated to the fixed point scheme of the $1$-parameter subgroup.

Abstract:We develop Milne's theory of Lefschetz motives for general adequate equivalence relations and over a not necessarily algebraically closed base field. The corresponding categories turn out to enjoy all properties predicted by standard and less standard conjectures, in a stronger way: algebraic and numerical equivalences agree in this context. We also compute the Tannakian group associated to a Weil cohomology in a different and more conceptual way than Milne's case-by-case approach.
