Abstract:In this manuscript, we study bounded positive solutions to the Finslerian Allen-Cahn equation. The Allen-Cahn equation is widely applied and connected to many mathematical branches. We find the Finslerian Allen-Cahn equation is also an Euler-Lagrange equation to a Liapunov entropy functional. We prove the global gradient estimates of its positive solutions on compact Finsler metric measure spaces adopting the lower bounds of the weighted Ricci curvature. Moreover, as application of a new comparison theorem developed by the author, we also get a local gradient estimates on noncompact forward complete Finsler metric measure spaces with locally finite misalignment, combining with the bounds of some non-Riemannian curvatures and the lower bound mixed weighted Ricci curvature. At last, we give a Liouville type theorem of such solutions.

Abstract:A generalized Einstein-Hilbert functional in Finsler geometry is defined and its Euler-Lagrange equation is derived, which depends on not only the Ricci scalar but also the mean Landsberg curvature. Such critical metrics include usual Riemann-Einstein metrics. Some non-Riemannian examples of critical metrics are given. Moreover, some rigidity theorems for a Finsler metric to be Riemannian are obtained.
Li-Yau Estimates for a Nonlinear Parabolic Equation on Finsler Manifolds

Abstract:In this paper, we explore the positive solutions to the Finslerian nonlinear equation $$\frac{\partial u}{\partial t} = \Delta^{\nabla u} u + au\log u + bu,$$ which is related to Ricci solitons and serves as the Euler-Lagrange equation to the Finslerian log-energy functional. We then obtain the global gradient estimate of its positive solution on a compact Finsler metric measure space with the weighted Ricci curvature bounded below. Furthermore, using a new comparison theorem developed by the first author, we also establish a local gradient estimate on a non-compact forward complete Finsler metric measure spaces with the mixed weighted Ricci curvature bounded below, as well as finite bounds of misalignment and some non-Riemannian curvatures. Lastly, we prove the Harnack inequalities and a Liouville-type theorem of such solutions.

Abstract:By using the volume form induced from the projective sphere bundle of the Fiusler manifold,the Finsler geometry of submanifolds is studied.The first variation formula of the volume functional for Fiusler submanifolds is derived.The second fundamental form and the mean curvature form for Finsler submanifolds are defined,which coincide with the usual notions for the Riemannian case.By deriving the divergence formula on the fiber of the projective sphere bundle,a simple equivalence expression of the mean curvature form is given.Some interesting results for Finsler submanifolds in the Minkowski space are established.

Abstract:We prove that for a compact Finsler manifold M with nonnegative weighted Ricci curvature,if its first closed(resp.Neumann)eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian attains the sharp lower bound,then M is isometric to a circle(resp.a segment).Moreover,a lower bound of the first eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian with Dirichlet boundary condition is also estimated.These generalize the corresponding results in recent literature.
Operators on nonlinear metric measure spaces I: A New Laplacian comparison theorem on Finsler manifolds and a generalized Li-Yau approach to gradient estimates of Finslerian Schrödinger equation

Abstract:This paper is the first in a series of paper where we describe the differential operators on general nonlinear metric measure spaces, namely, the Finsler spaces. We try to propose a general method for gradient estimates of the positive solutions to nonlinear parabolic (or elliptic) equations on both compact and noncompact forward complete Finsler manifolds. The key of this approach is to find a valid comparison theorem, and particularly, to find related suitable curvature conditions. Actually, we define some non-Riemannian tensors and a generalization of the weighted Ricci curvature, called the mixed weighted Ricci curvature. With the assistance of these concepts, we prove a new kind of Laplacian comparison theorem. As an illustration of such method, we apply it to Finslerian Schrödinger equation. The Schrödinger equation is a typical class of parabolic equations, and the gradient estimation of their positive solution is representative. In this paper, based on the new Laplacian comparison theorem, we give global and local Li-Yau type gradient estimates for positive solutions to the Finslerian Schrödinger equation with respect to two different mixed weighted Ricci curvature conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the sharp constants of quantitative Hardy and Rellich inequalities on nonreversible Finsler manifolds equipped with arbitrary measures. In particular, these inequalities can be globally refined by adding remainder terms like the Brezis–Vázquez improvement, if Finsler manifolds are of strictly negative flag curvature, vanishing S-curvature and finite uniformity constant. Furthermore, these results remain valid when Finsler metrics are reversible.

Abstract:We obtain almost optimal differential Harnack inequalities for a class of nonlinear parabolic equations on Riemannian manifolds with Bakry-Émery Ricci curvature bounded below, which includes the classical Fisher-KPP equation and Newell-Whitehead equation. Compared to existing research, we do not impose any additional conditions on the positive solutions. As its application, we derive some optimal Liouville properties.

Abstract:In this paper we study gradient estimates for the positive solutions of the porous medium equation: \documentclass[12pt]{minimal}\usepackage{amsmath}\usepackage{wasysym}\usepackage{amsfonts}\usepackage{amssymb}\usepackage{amsbsy}\usepackage{mathrsfs}\usepackage{upgreek}\setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt}\begin{document}$$u_t=\Delta u^m$$\end{document} where m>1, which is a nonlinear version of the heat equation. We derive local gradient estimates of the Li–Yau type for positive solutions of porous medium equations on Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded from below. As applications, several parabolic Harnack inequalities are obtained. In particular, our results improve the ones of Lu, Ni, Vázquez, and Villani (in J. Math. Pures Appl. 91:1–19, 2009). Moreover, our results recover the ones of Davies (in Cambridge Tracts Math vol. 92, 1989), Hamilton (in Comm. Anal. Geom. 1:113–125, 1993) and Li and Xu (in Adv. Math. 226:4456–4491, 2011).

Abstract:In this article we derive gradient estimation for positive solution of the equation \begin{equation*} (\partial_t-\Delta_f)u = A(u)p(x,t) + B(u)q(x,t) + \mathcal{G}(u) \end{equation*} on a weighted Riemannian manifold evolving along the $(k,m)$ super Perelman-Ricci flow \begin{equation*} \frac{\partial g}{\partial t}(x,t)+2Ric_f^m(g)(x,t)\ge -2kg(x,t). \end{equation*} As an application of gradient estimation we derive a Harnack type inequality along with a Liouville type theorem.

Abstract:We prove the Bochner-Weitzenboeck formula for the (nonlinear) Laplacian on general Finsler manifolds and derive Li-Yau type gradient estimates as well as parabolic Harnack inequalities. Moreover, we deduce Bakry-Emery gradient estimates. All these estimates depend on lower bounds for the weighted flag Ricci tensor.

Abstract:Recently, we have studied evolution of a family of Finsler metrics along Finsler Ricci flow and proved its convergence in short time. Here, evolution equation of the reduced $hh$-curvature and the Ricci scalar along the Finslerian Ricci flow is obtained and it is proved that the Ricci flow preserves positivity of reduced $hh$-curvature on finite time. Next, it is shown that the evolution of Ricci scalar is a parabolic-type equation and if the initial Finsler metric is of positive flag curvature, then the flag curvature and the Ricci scalar remain positive as long as the solution exists. Finally, a lower bound for the Ricci scalar along the Ricci flow is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of Finsler metrics defined by a vector field on a gradient Ricci soliton. We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for these Finsler metrics on a compact gradient Ricci soliton to be of isotropic S-curvature by establishing a new integral inequality. Then we determine the Ricci curvature of navigation Finsler metrics of isotropic S-curvature on a gradient Ricci soliton generalizing result only known in the case when such soliton is of Einstein type. As its application, we obtain the Ricci curvature of all navigation Finsler metrics of isotropic S-curvature on Gaussian shrinking soliton.

Abstract:The conformai properties of complex Finsler metrics are studied. We first give a characterization of a compact complex Finsler manifold to be globally conformai Kahler. By considering the total holomorphic curvature and total Ricci curvature in the volume preserved conformal classes, we then study the variational properties of Kahler Finsler metrics. By studying the spectral properties of two average metrics, the stabilities of critical Kähler Finsler metrics are verified. Finally, a Yamabe type problem for mean holomorphic Ricci curvature is considered, and a partial existence result is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we carry out in-depth research centering around the Harnack inequality for positive solutions to nonlinear heat equation on Finsler metric measure manifolds with weighted Ricci curvature ${\rm Ric}_{\infty}$ bounded below. Aim on this topic, we first give a volume comparison theorem of Bishop-Gromov type. Then we prove a weighted Poincaré inequality by using Whitney-type coverings technique and give a local uniform Sobolev inequality. Further, we obtain two mean value inequalities for positive subsolutions and supersolutions of a class of parabolic differential equations. From the mean value inequality, we also derive a new local gradient estimate for positive solutions to heat equation. Finally, as the application of the mean value inequalities and weighted Poincaré inequality, we get the desired Harnack inequality for positive solutions to heat equation.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of Finsler measure spaces whose weighted Ricci curvature satisfies R i c ∞ = c F 2 {\mathbf {Ric}}_{\infty }=cF^{2} . This class contains all gradient Ricci solitons and Finsler Gaussian shrinking solitons. Thus Finsler measure spaces in this class are called Finsler gradient Ricci solitons. For a Randers measure space, we find sufficient and necessary conditions for this space to be a Finsler gradient Ricci soliton. In particular, we show that Randers-Finsler gradient Ricci solitons must have isotropic S S -curvature. Finally, we give an equivalent condition for a Randers measure space to be a Finsler gradient Ricci soliton of constant S S -curvature.
