Abstract:By using Bochner technique and gradient estimate, we give the lower bound estimates of the first eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian on Finsler manifolds. These results generalize the corresponding famous theorems in the Riemannian geometry.

Abstract:We prove that for a compact Finsler manifold M with nonnegative weighted Ricci curvature,if its first closed(resp.Neumann)eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian attains the sharp lower bound,then M is isometric to a circle(resp.a segment).Moreover,a lower bound of the first eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian with Dirichlet boundary condition is also estimated.These generalize the corresponding results in recent literature.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the growth of fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds. Some relationships between the growth of fundamental groups and the volume growth of universal covers of Finsler manifolds are found. Some estimates of entropies and the number of generators of fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds are given. Moreover, the quasi-isometry and the geometric norm in Finsler geometry are considered.

Abstract:By using the volume form induced from the projective sphere bundle of the Fiusler manifold,the Finsler geometry of submanifolds is studied.The first variation formula of the volume functional for Fiusler submanifolds is derived.The second fundamental form and the mean curvature form for Finsler submanifolds are defined,which coincide with the usual notions for the Riemannian case.By deriving the divergence formula on the fiber of the projective sphere bundle,a simple equivalence expression of the mean curvature form is given.Some interesting results for Finsler submanifolds in the Minkowski space are established.

Abstract:Finsler manifolds are differentiable manifolds equipped with Riemannian metrics without the quadratic restriction. In this paper, some recent developments and new results on curvatures and fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds are summarized briefly. The contents contain the growth of fundamental groups, the entropy of manifolds and fundamental groups, the first Betti number and the finiteness of fundamental groups.

Abstract:By simplifying the first and the second variation formulas of the energy functional and generalizing the Weitzenbock formula, we study the stability and the rigidity of harmonic maps between Finsler manifolds. It is proved that any nondegenerate harmonic map from a compact Einstein Riemannian manifold with nonnegative scalar curvature to a Berwald manifold with nonpositive flag curvature is totally geodesic and there is no nondegenerate stable harmonic map from a Riemannian unit sphere S-n (n > 2) to any Finsler manifold.

Abstract:We prove the Bochner-Weitzenboeck formula for the (nonlinear) Laplacian on general Finsler manifolds and derive Li-Yau type gradient estimates as well as parabolic Harnack inequalities. Moreover, we deduce Bakry-Emery gradient estimates. All these estimates depend on lower bounds for the weighted flag Ricci tensor.

Abstract:In this paper the relationship between the Ricci curvature and the fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds are studied. We give an estimate of the first Betti number of a compact Finsler manifold. Two finiteness theorems for fundamental groups of compact Finsler manifolds are proved. Moreover, the growth of fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds with almost-nonnegative Ricci curvature are considered.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the sharp constants of quantitative Hardy and Rellich inequalities on nonreversible Finsler manifolds equipped with arbitrary measures. In particular, these inequalities can be globally refined by adding remainder terms like the Brezis–Vázquez improvement, if Finsler manifolds are of strictly negative flag curvature, vanishing S-curvature and finite uniformity constant. Furthermore, these results remain valid when Finsler metrics are reversible.

Abstract:A generalized Einstein-Hilbert functional in Finsler geometry is defined and its Euler-Lagrange equation is derived, which depends on not only the Ricci scalar but also the mean Landsberg curvature. Such critical metrics include usual Riemann-Einstein metrics. Some non-Riemannian examples of critical metrics are given. Moreover, some rigidity theorems for a Finsler metric to be Riemannian are obtained.

Abstract:This paper is to study further some properties of harmonic maps between Finsler manifolds. Some rigidity theorems for harmonic maps between Finsler manifolds are given. By introducing the stress-energy tensor of maps between Finsler manifolds, some integral formulas are obtained. Moreover, it is proved that any conformal strongly harmonic map from an n(>2)-dimensional Finsler manifold to a Finsler manifold must be homothetic.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a logarithmic Sobolev inequality in complete Finsler measure spaces. As its applications, we prove the existence of solutions of eigenvalue problem for the Finsler Laplacian. Finally, we obtain a Lichnerowicz type theorem which shows that for a complete Finsler measure space with Ric∞≥K>0, the first eigenvalue has lower bound K2.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish several new Lyapunov-type inequalities for two classes of one-dimensional quasilinear elliptic systems of resonant type, which generalize or improve all related existing ones. Abstract:In this manuscript, we study bounded positive solutions to the Finslerian Allen-Cahn equation. The Allen-Cahn equation is widely applied and connected to many mathematical branches. We find the Finslerian Allen-Cahn equation is also an Euler-Lagrange equation to a Liapunov entropy functional. We prove the global gradient estimates of its positive solutions on compact Finsler metric measure spaces adopting the lower bounds of the weighted Ricci curvature. Moreover, as application of a new comparison theorem developed by the author, we also get a local gradient estimates on noncompact forward complete Finsler metric measure spaces with locally finite misalignment, combining with the bounds of some non-Riemannian curvatures and the lower bound mixed weighted Ricci curvature. At last, we give a Liouville type theorem of such solutions.

Abstract:We prove a lower bound estimate for the first non-zero eigenvalue of the Witten–Laplacian on compact Riemannian manifolds. As an application, we derive a lower bound estimate for the diameter of compact gradient shrinking Ricci solitons. Our results improve some previous estimates which were obtained by the first author and Sano (Asian J Math, to appear), and by Andrews and Ni (Comm Partial Differential Equ, to appear). Moreover, we extend the diameter estimate to compact self-similar shrinkers of mean curvature flow.
Li-Yau Estimates for a Nonlinear Parabolic Equation on Finsler Manifolds

Abstract:In this paper, we explore the positive solutions to the Finslerian nonlinear equation $$\frac{\partial u}{\partial t} = \Delta^{\nabla u} u + au\log u + bu,$$ which is related to Ricci solitons and serves as the Euler-Lagrange equation to the Finslerian log-energy functional. We then obtain the global gradient estimate of its positive solution on a compact Finsler metric measure space with the weighted Ricci curvature bounded below. Furthermore, using a new comparison theorem developed by the first author, we also establish a local gradient estimate on a non-compact forward complete Finsler metric measure spaces with the mixed weighted Ricci curvature bounded below, as well as finite bounds of misalignment and some non-Riemannian curvatures. Lastly, we prove the Harnack inequalities and a Liouville-type theorem of such solutions.

Operators on nonlinear metric measure spaces I: A New Laplacian comparison theorem on Finsler manifolds and a generalized Li-Yau approach to gradient estimates of Finslerian Schrödinger equation

Abstract:This paper is the first in a series of paper where we describe the differential operators on general nonlinear metric measure spaces, namely, the Finsler spaces. We try to propose a general method for gradient estimates of the positive solutions to nonlinear parabolic (or elliptic) equations on both compact and noncompact forward complete Finsler manifolds. The key of this approach is to find a valid comparison theorem, and particularly, to find related suitable curvature conditions. Actually, we define some non-Riemannian tensors and a generalization of the weighted Ricci curvature, called the mixed weighted Ricci curvature. With the assistance of these concepts, we prove a new kind of Laplacian comparison theorem. As an illustration of such method, we apply it to Finslerian Schrödinger equation. The Schrödinger equation is a typical class of parabolic equations, and the gradient estimation of their positive solution is representative. In this paper, based on the new Laplacian comparison theorem, we give global and local Li-Yau type gradient estimates for positive solutions to the Finslerian Schrödinger equation with respect to two different mixed weighted Ricci curvature conditions.

Abstract:Let M be an n -dimensional compact Riemannian manifold with or without boundary, and its Ricci curvature Ric M ⩾ n −1. The paper obtains an inequality for the first eigenvalue η 1 of M with mixed boundary condition, which is a generalization of the results of Lichnerowicz, Reilly, Escobar and Xia. It is also proved that η 1 ⩾ n for certain n -dimensional compact Riemannian manifolds with boundary, which is an extension of the work of Cheng, Li and Yau.

Abstract:We study the first nonzero eigenvalues for the p -Laplacian on quaternionic Kähler manifolds. Our first result is a lower bound for the first nonzero closed (Neumann) eigenvalue of the p -Laplacian on compact quaternionic Kähler manifolds. Our second result is a lower bound for the first Dirichlet eigenvalue of the p -Laplacian on compact quaternionic Kähler manifolds with smooth boundary. Our results generalize corresponding results for the Laplace eigenvalues on quaternionic Kähler manifolds proved in Li and Wang (J Geom Anal 33(3):20, 2023).
