Abstract:The conformai properties of complex Finsler metrics are studied. We first give a characterization of a compact complex Finsler manifold to be globally conformai Kahler. By considering the total holomorphic curvature and total Ricci curvature in the volume preserved conformal classes, we then study the variational properties of Kahler Finsler metrics. By studying the spectral properties of two average metrics, the stabilities of critical Kähler Finsler metrics are verified. Finally, a Yamabe type problem for mean holomorphic Ricci curvature is considered, and a partial existence result is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a Gauss–Bonnet–Chern formula for real Finsler vector bundles with respect to any metric-compatible connection. The key idea is to modify any given metric-compatible connection to be a new metric-compatible connection with some special properties. As a corollary, a Gauss–Bonnet–Chern formula for Finsler manifolds with respect to any metric-compatible connection is established.

Abstract:In this paper, we present two kinds of total Chern forms $c(E,G)$ and $\mathcal{C}(E,G)$ as well as a total Segre form $s(E,G)$ of a holomorphic Finsler vector bundle $\pi:(E,G)\to M$ expressed by the Finsler metric $G$, which answers a question of J. Faran (\cite{Faran}) to some extent. As some applications, we show that the signed Segre forms $(-1)^ks_k(E,G)$ are positive $(k,k)$-forms on $M$ when $G$ is of positive Kobayashi curvature; we prove, under an extra assumption, that a Finsler-Einstein vector bundle in the sense of Kobayashi is semi-stable; we introduce a new definition of a flat Finsler metric, which is weaker than Aikou's one (\cite{Aikou}) and prove that a holomorphic vector bundle is Finsler flat in our sense if and only if it is Hermitian flat.

Abstract:In this short note, we prove that a complex Finsler vector bundle with positive Kobayashi curvature must be ample, which partially solves a problem of S. Kobayashi posed in 1975. As applications, a strongly pseudoconvex complex Finsler manifold with positive Kobayashi curvature must be biholomorphic to the complex projective space; we also show that all Schur polynomials are numerically positive for complex Finsler vector bundles with positive Kobayashi curvature.

Abstract:A generalized Einstein-Hilbert functional in Finsler geometry is defined and its Euler-Lagrange equation is derived, which depends on not only the Ricci scalar but also the mean Landsberg curvature. Such critical metrics include usual Riemann-Einstein metrics. Some non-Riemannian examples of critical metrics are given. Moreover, some rigidity theorems for a Finsler metric to be Riemannian are obtained.

Abstract:Finsler manifolds are differentiable manifolds equipped with Riemannian metrics without the quadratic restriction. In this paper, some recent developments and new results on curvatures and fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds are summarized briefly. Abstract:In this paper the relationship between the Ricci curvature and the fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds are studied. We give an estimate of the first Betti number of a compact Finsler manifold. Two finiteness theorems for fundamental groups of compact Finsler manifolds are proved. Moreover, the growth of fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds with almost-nonnegative Ricci curvature are considered.

Abstract:This is the third and final article in a series which prove the fact that a K-stable Fano manifold admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. In this paper we consider the Gromov-Hausdorff limits of metrics with cone singularities in the case when the limiting cone angle approaches 2 π \pi . We also put all our technical results together to complete the proof of the main theorem.
Characterization of invariant complex Finsler metrics and Schwarz lemma on the classical domains

Abstract:Our goal of this paper is to give a complete characterization of all holomorphic invariant strongly pseudoconvex complex Finsler metrics on the classical domains and establish a corresponding Schwarz lemma for holomorphic maps with respect to these invariant metrics. We prove that every $\mbox{Aut}(\mathfrak{D})$-invariant strongly pseudoconvex complex Finsler metric $F$ on a classical domain $\mathfrak{D}$ of rank $\geq 2$ is a Kähler-Berwald metric which is not necessary Hermitian quadratic, but it enjoys very similar curvature property as that of the Bergman metric on $\mathfrak{D}$. In particular, if $F$ is Hermitian quadratic, then $F$ is must be a constant multiple of the Bergman metric on $\mathfrak{D}$. This actually answers the $4$-th open problem posed by Bland and Kalka in [7]. We also obtain a general Schwarz lemma for holomorphic maps from a classical domain $\mathfrak{D}_1$ into another classical domain $\mathfrak{D}_2$ whenever $\mathfrak{D}_1$ and $\mathfrak{D}_2$ are endowed with arbitrary holomorphic invariant Kähler-Berwald metrics $F_1$ and $F_2$, respectively. The method used to prove the Schwarz lemma is purely geometric. Our results show that the Lu constant of $(\mathfrak{D},F)$ is both an analytic invariant and a geometric invariant which can only be more clearly seen in the complex Finsler setting. This also gives a nontrivial generalization of the classical Schwarz lemma on the classical domains previously established case-by-case by Look [31] with respect to the Bergman metric.

Abstract:In this paper, a class of holomorphic invariant metrics is introduced on the irreducible classical domains of type I-IV, which are strongly pseudoconvex complex Finsler metrics in the strict sense of M. Abate and G. Patrizio[2]. These metrics are of particular interest in several complex variables since they are holomorphic invariant complex Finsler metrics found so far in literature which enjoy good regularity as well as strong pseudoconvexity and can be explicitly expressed so as to admit differential geometric studies. They are, however, not necessarily Hermitian quadratic as that of the Bergman metrics. These metrics are explicitly constructed via deformation of the corresponding Bergman metric on the irreducible classical domains of type I-IV, respectively, and they are all proved to be complete Kahler-Berwald metrics. They enjoy very similar curvature properties as that of the Bergman metric on the irreducible classical domains, namely their holomorphic sectional curvatures are bounded between two negative constants, and their holomorphic bisectional curvatures are always non positive and bounded below by negative constants, respectively. From the viewpoint of complex analysis, these metrics are analogues of Bergman metrics in complex Finsler geometry which do not necessarily have Hermitian quadratic restrictions in the viewpoint of S.-S. Chern[7].

Abstract:In this paper, first of all, according to Lu's and Zhang's works about the curvature of the Bergman metric on a bounded domain and the properties of the squeezing functions, we obtain that Bergman curvature of the Bergman metric on a bounded strictly pseudoconvex domain with $C^2$-boundary or bounded convex domain is bounded. Secondly, by the property of curvature symmetry on a Kähler manifold, we have the property: if holomorphic sectional curvature of a Kähler manifold is bounded, we can deduce that its sectional curvature is bounded. After that, applying to the Schwarz lemma from a complete Kähler manifold into a complex Finsler manifold, we get that a bounded strictly pseudoconvex domain with $C^2$-boundary or bounded convex domain admit complete strongly pseudoconvex complex Finsler metrics such that their holomorphic sectional curvature is bounded from above by a negative constant. Finally, by the Schwarz lemma from a complete Kähler manifold into a complex Finsler manifold, we prove the uniform equivalences of the Kobayashi metric and Carathéodory metric on a bounded strongly convex domain with smoothly boundary.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove a structure theorem for projectively flat Finsler metrics of negative constant flag curvature. We show that for such a Finsler metric if the orthogonal group acts as isometries, then the Finsler metric is a slight generalization of Chern–Shen's construction Riemann–Finsler geometry, Nankai Tracts in Mathematics, Vol. 6 (World Scientific Publishing, Hackensack, NJ, 2005), x+192 pp.
A metrical approach to Finsler geometry

Abstract:In the standard approach to Finsler geometry the metric is defined as a vertical Hessian and the Chern or Cartan connections appear as just two among many possible natural linear connections on the pullback tangent bundle. Here it is shown that the Hessian nature of the metric, the non-linear connection and the Chern or Cartan connections can be derived from a few compatibility axioms between metric and Finsler connection. This result provides a metrical formulation of Finsler geometry which is well adapted to field theory, and which has proved useful in Einstein-Cartan-like approaches to Finsler gravity.

Abstract:We prove the existence of Kahler-Einstein metric on a K-stable Fano manifold using the recent compactness result on Kahler-Ricci flows. The key ingredient is an algebro-geometric description of the asymptotic behavior of Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. This is in turn based on a general finite dimensional discussion, which is interesting in its own and could potentially apply to other problems. As one application, we relate the asymptotics of the Calabi flow on a polarized Kahler manifold to K-stability assuming bounds on geometry.
