Abstract:In this paper, we present new presentations of group inverse for the sum of two group invertible elements in a Banach algebra. We then apply these results to block complex matrices. The group invertibility of certain block complex matrices is thereby obtained.

Abstract:We present necessary and sufficient conditions under which the sum of two group invertible elements in a ring is group invertible. As applications, we establish the existence of group inverses of certain 2 × 2 block-operator matrices over a Banach space. These generalize the known results, e.g., Zhou, Chen and Zhu ( Comm. Algebra 48 (2020), 676–690) and Benítez, Liu and Zhu ( Linear Multilinear Algebra 59 (2011), 279–289).

Abstract:In this paper, the sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of the group inverse for a class of 2×2 anti-triangular block matrices M with some certain conditions satisfied, and representations of the group inverse of M are obtained, which can be regarded as the extension of Bu et al. [C. Bu, J. Zhao, J. Zheng, Group inverse for a class 2×2 block matrices over skew fields, Appl. Math. Comput. 204 (2008) 45–49] and [C. Bu, J. Zhao, K. Zhang, Some results on group inverses of block matrices over skew fields, Electron. J. Linear Algebra, 18 (2009) 117–125]. Further, we use these results to determine the expressions of the Drazin inverse of M. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate our results.

Abstract:Let a,b be two commutative generalized Drazin invertible elements in a Banach algebra; the expressions for the generalized Drazin inverse of the product ab and the sum a + b were studied in some current literature on this subject. In this paper, we generalize these results under the weaker conditions a(2)b = aba and b(2)a = bab. As an application of our results, we obtain some new representations for the generalized Drazin inverse of a block matrix with the generalized Schur complement being generalized Drazin invertible in a Banach algebra, extending some recent works.

Abstract:We present new additive results for the pseudo core inverse in a Banach algebra with involution. The necessary and sufficient conditions under which the sum of two pseudo core invertible elements in Banach *-algebra is pseudo core invertible are obtained. As an application, the pseudo core invertibility for block complex matrices is investigated. These extend the main results of pseudo core invertibility of Gao and Chen [Comm. Algebra, 46(2018), 38--50].

Abstract:This paper presents a full rank factorization of a 2×2 block matrix without any restriction concerning the group inverse. Applying this factorization, we obtain an explicit representation of the group inverse in terms of four individual blocks of the partitioned matrix without certain restriction. We also derive some important coincidence theorems, including the expressions of the group inverse with Banachiewicz-Schur forms.

Abstract:We present new additive properties of the g-Drazin inverse of a linear operator on a Banach space. The g-Drazin invertibility of certain block operator matrices on a Banach space is thereby established. These results extend many known results, e.g., by Yang and Liu [J. Comput. Applied Math. 235 , 1412–1417 (2011)] and Dopazo and Martinez-Serrano [Linear Algebra Appl. 432 , 1896–1904 (2010)].

Abstract:In a Banach algebra, we introduce a new type of generalized inverse called g$\pi$-Hirano inverse. Firstly, several existence criteria and the equivalent definition of this inverse are investigated. Then, we discuss the relationship between the g$\pi$-Hirano invertibility of $a$, $b$ and that of the sum $a+b$ under some weaker conditions. Finally, as applications to the previous additive results, some equivalent characterizations for the g$\pi$-Hirano invertibility of the anti-triangular matrix over Banach algebras are <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://obtained.In" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> particular, some results in this paper are different from the corresponding ones of classical generalized inverses, such as Drazin inverse and generalized Drazin inverse.

Abstract:Representations of {1,2,3}-inverses, {1,2,4}-inverses, and Drazin inverse of a partitioned matrix M = [GRAPHICS] related to the generalized Schur complement are studied. First, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions under which {1,2,3}-inverses, {1,2,4}-inverses, and group inverse of a 2 x 2 block matrix can be represented in the Banachiewicz-Schur forms. Some results from the paper of Cvetkovic-ilic, 2009, are generalized. Also, we expressed the quotient property and the first Sylvester identity in terms of the generalized Schur complement.

Abstract:We present necessary and sufficient conditions under which the anti-triangular matrix $\left( \begin{array}{cc} a&b 1&0 \end{array} \right)$ over a Banach algebra has g-Drazin inverse. New additive results for g-Drazin inverse are obtained.
