Abstract:In this paper, we first prove the parabolic Beauvile-Narasimhan-Ramanan correspondence over an arbitrary field which generalizes the corresponding results over algebraically closed fields in [SWW22]. We use the correspondence and the p-adic integration methods developed by Groechenig- Wyss-Ziegler [GWZ20b] to prove the topological mirror symmetry for parabolic Hitchin systems on curves with arbitrary parabolic structures.

Abstract:We prove the Strominger--Yau--Zaslow and topological mirror symmetries for parabolic Hitchin systems of types B and C. In contrast to type A, a geometric reinterpretation of Springer duality is necessary. Furthermore, unlike Hitchin's construction in the non-parabolic case, the map between generic fibers in type B and C needs more analysis due to the change of partitions of Springer dual nilpotent orbits, which is the main difficulty in this article. To tackle this challenge, we first construct and study the geometry of the generic Hitchin fibers of moduli spaces of Higgs bundles associated to the nilpotent orbit closures. Then we study their relation with the generic Hitchin fibers of parabolic Hitchin systems. Along this way, we establish intriguing connections between Springer duality, Kazhdan--Lusztig maps, and singularities of spectral curves, and uncover a new geometric interpretation of Lusztig's canonical quotient.

Abstract:We study the geometry of singular $\text{SL}_n$-Hitchin fibres over the elliptic locus. We show that orbifold singularities appear in the $\text{PGL}_n$-moduli space $M^{ell}(\text{PGL}_n)$ exactly when the $\text{SL}_n$ side $M^{ell}(\text{SL}_n)$ has a reducible Hitchin fibre. Our main theorem shows that the Fourier-Mukai transform of a skyscraper sheaf supported at an orbifold singularity in $M^{ell}(\text{PGL}_n)$ satisfies a version of the fractional Hecke eigenproperty, as conjectured by Frenkel and Witten.

Abstract:In this paper, we present an algebro-geometric construction of the Hitchin connection in the parabolic setting for a fixed determinant line bundle. Our strategy is based on Hecke modifications, where we provide a decomposition formula for the parabolic determinant line bundle and the canonical line bundle of the moduli space of parabolic bundles. As a special case, we construct a Hitchin connection on the moduli space of vector bundles with fixed non-trivial determinant.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study motivic aspects of the Hitchin system for $\mathrm{GL}_n$. Our results include the following. (a) We prove the motivic decomposition conjecture of Corti-Hanamura for the Hitchin system; in particular, the decomposition theorem associated with the Hitchin system is induced by algebraic cycles. This yields an unconditional construction of the motivic perverse filtration for the Hitchin system, which lifts the cohomological/sheaf-theoretic perverse filtration. (b) We prove that the inverse of the relative Hard Lefschetz symmetry is induced by a relative algebraic correspondence, confirming the relative Lefschetz standard conjecture for the Hitchin system. (c) We show a strong perversity bound for the normalized Chern classes of a universal bundle with respect to the motivic perverse filtration; this specializes to the sheaf-theoretic result obtained earlier by Maulik-Shen. (d) We prove a $\chi$-independence result for the relative Chow motives associated with Hitchin systems. Our methods combine Fourier transforms for compactified Jacobian fibrations associated with integral locally planar curves, nearby and vanishing cycle techniques, and a Springer-theoretic interpretation of parabolic Hitchin moduli spaces.

Abstract:We give a solution of the Inverse Scattering Problem for integrable systems with a finite number degrees of freedom, admitting a Lax representation with spectral parameter on a Riemann surface. While conventional approaches deal with the systems with $GL(n)$ symmetry, we focus on the problems arising in the case of symmetry with respect to a semi-simple group. Our main results apply to Hitchin systems of the types $B_n$, $C_n$, $D_n$.

Abstract:Abstract Let $\mathcal {G}$ be a parahoric group scheme over a complex projective curve X of genus greater than one. Let $\mathrm {Bun}_{\mathcal {G}}$ denote the moduli stack of $\mathcal {G}$-torsors on X. We prove several results concerning the Hitchin map on $T^{\ast }\!\mathrm {Bun}_{\mathcal {G}}$. We first show that the parahoric analogue of the global nilpotent cone is isotropic and use this to prove that $\mathrm {Bun}_{\mathcal {G}}$ is “very good” in the sense of Beilinson–Drinfeld. We then prove that the parahoric Hitchin map is a Poisson map whose generic fibres are abelian varieties. Together, these results imply that the parahoric Hitchin map is a completely integrable system.

Abstract:Sets of points giving spectral curves can be regarded as phase coordinates of Hitchin systems. We address the problem of finding out trajectories of Hitchin systems in those coordinates. The problem is being solved for the systems with structure groups $SO(4)$ and $SL(2)$ on genus 2 curves. Our method is a transfer of straight line windings of fibers of the Hitchin map, which are given by Prymians of the spectral curves for the systems with simple classical structure groups. The transfer is carried out by means of an analog of the Jacobi inversion map, which does not exist for Prymians in general but can be defined in the two cases in question.

Abstract:We argue that Hitchin’s equation determines not only the low energy effective theory but also describes the UV theory of four dimensional N = 2 superconformal field theories when we compactify six dimensional A N (0, 2) theory on a punctured Riemann surface. We study singular solutions to Hitchin’s equation and the Highs field of equation has a simple pole at the punctures; We show that the massless theory is associated with Higgs field whose residue is a nilpotent element; We identify the flavor symmetry associated with the puncture by studying the singularity of closure of the moduli space of solutions with the appropriate boundary conditions. For mass-deformed theory the residue of the Higgs field is a semi-simple element, we identify the semi-simple element by arguing that the moduli space of solutions of mass-deformed theory must be a deformation of the closure of the moduli space of massless theory. We also study the Seiberg-Witten curve by identifying it as the spectral curve of the Hitchin’s system. The results are all in agreement with Gaiotto’s results derived from studying the Seiberg-Witten curve of four dimensional quiver gauge theory.

Abstract:A generalized Hitchin equation was proposed as the BPS equation for a large class of four dimensional 𝒩 = 1 theories engineered using M5 branes. In this paper, we show how to write down the spectral curve for the moduli space of generalized Hitchin equations, and extract interesting 𝒩 = 1 dynamics out of it, such as deformed modui space, chiral ring relation, SUSY breaking, etc. Holomorphy plays a crucial role in our construction.

Abstract:The Hitchin-Simpson equations are first-order non-linear equations for a pair consisting of a connection and a Higgs field. In this paper, we study the behavior of sequences of solutions to the Hitchin-Simpson equations on closed Kähler manifolds with unbounded $L^2$ norms of the Higgs fields. We prove a compactness result for the connections and renormalized Higgs fields, which generalizes the work of Taubes and Mochizuki. As applications, we prove that every $\mathbb{Z}/2$ harmonic 1-form on a Kähler manifold can be deformed into a sequence of solutions to the Hitchin-Simpson equations. Additionally, we solve the generalized Hitchin's WKB problem on any Kähler manifold.

Abstract:We define even very stable Higgs bundles and study the Hitchin map restricted to their upward flows. In the [Formula: see text] case, we classify the type [Formula: see text] examples, and find that they are governed by a root system formed by the roots of even height. We discuss how the spectrum of equivariant cohomology of real and quaternionic Grassmannians, [Formula: see text]-spheres and the real Cayley plane appear to describe the Hitchin map on even cominuscule upward flows. The even upward flows in question are the same as upward flows in Higgs bundle moduli spaces for quasi-split inner real forms. The latter spaces have been pioneered by Oscar García-Prada and his collaborators.
