Abstract:The estimability of quantized dynamic linear systems was discussed from information theoretic point of view. The presented definitions were reviewed and extended to more general systems. Criterions of estimability for systems with quantized outputs were proposed based on the measure of mutual information. These obtained condition of estimability consists with our intuition very well and provides us with intrinsic perspective for the quantizer design. Furthermore, the convergence property of the quantized estimability Gramian was analyzed. The mathematical analysis is verified by illustrative simulations.

Abstract:In a celebrated unpublished manuscript Beilinson and Drinfeld quantize the Hitchin integrable system by showing that the global sections of critically twisted differential operators on the moduli stack of G-bundles on an algebraic curve is identified with the ring of regular functions on the space of G-opers; they deduce existence of an automorphic D-module corresponding to a local system carrying a structure of an oper. In this note we show for G=GL(n) that those results admit a short proof by reduction to positive characteristic, where they are deduced from generic Langlands duality established earlier by the first author and A. Braverman. The appendix contains a proof of some properties of the p-curvature map restricted to the space of opers.

Abstract:We determine the summands of the decomposition theorem for the Hitchin system for $\mathrm{GL}_n$, in arbitrary degree, over the locus of reduced spectral curves. The key ingredient is an equivariant formula for lattice point counts in graphical zonotopes.

Abstract:A gauge system is a classical field theory where among the fields there are connections in a principal G-bundle over the space-time manifold and the classical action is either invariant or transforms appropriately with respect to the action of the gauge group. The lectures are focused on the path integral quantization of such systems. Here two main examples of gauge systems are Yang-Mills and Chern-Simons.

Abstract:Motivated by their appearance as Coulomb branch geometries of Class S theories, we study the image of the local Hitchin map in tame Hitchin systems of type-D with residue in a special nilpotent orbit $\mathcal{O}_H$. We describe two important features which distinguish it from the type A case studied in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2008.01020" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2008.01020">arXiv:2008.01020</a>. The first feature, which we term even type constraints, arise iff the partition label $[\mathcal{O}_H]$ has even parts. In this case, our Hitchin image is non-singular and thus different from the one studied by Baraglia and Kamgarpour. We argue that our Hitchin image always globalizes to being the Hitchin base of an integrable system. The second feature, which we term odd type constraints, is related to a particular finite group $\overline{A}_b(\mathcal{O}_H)$ being non-trivial. When this finite group is non-trivial, we have $\mid \overline{A}_b \mid$ choices for the local Hitchin base. Additionally, we also show that the finite group $\overline{A}_b(\mathcal{O}_H)$ encodes the size of the dual special piece.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study motivic aspects of the Hitchin system for $\mathrm{GL}_n$. Our results include the following. (a) We prove the motivic decomposition conjecture of Corti-Hanamura for the Hitchin system; in particular, the decomposition theorem associated with the Hitchin system is induced by algebraic cycles. This yields an unconditional construction of the motivic perverse filtration for the Hitchin system, which lifts the cohomological/sheaf-theoretic perverse filtration. (b) We prove that the inverse of the relative Hard Lefschetz symmetry is induced by a relative algebraic correspondence, confirming the relative Lefschetz standard conjecture for the Hitchin system. (c) We show a strong perversity bound for the normalized Chern classes of a universal bundle with respect to the motivic perverse filtration; this specializes to the sheaf-theoretic result obtained earlier by Maulik-Shen. (d) We prove a $\chi$-independence result for the relative Chow motives associated with Hitchin systems. Our methods combine Fourier transforms for compactified Jacobian fibrations associated with integral locally planar curves, nearby and vanishing cycle techniques, and a Springer-theoretic interpretation of parabolic Hitchin moduli spaces.

Abstract:To a complex symplectic manifold X we associate a canonical quantization algebroid. Our construction is similar to that of Polesello-Schapira's deformation-quantization algebroid, but the deformation parameter is no longer central. If X is compact, the triangulated category of regular holonomic quantization modules is a linear complex Calabi-Yau category of dimension 1 + dim X.

Compactifying the rank two Hitchin system via spectral data on semistable curves

Abstract:We study resolutions of the rational map to the moduli space of stable curves that associates with a point in the Hitchin base the spectral curve. In the rank two case the answer is given in terms of the space of quadratic multi-scale differentials introduced in [BCGGM3]. This space defines a compactification (of the projectivization) of the regular locus of the $\mathrm{GL}(2,\mathbb{C})$-Hitchin base and provides a compactification of the Hitchin system by compactified Jacobians of pointed stable curves. We show how the classical $\mathrm{GL}(2,\mathbb{C})$- and $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{C})$-spectral correspondence extend to the compactified Hitchin system by a correspondence along an admissible cover between torsion-free rank $1$ sheaves and (multi-scale) Higgs pairs of rank $2$.

Abstract:In this paper, we seek to prove the equality of the $q$-graded fermionic sums conjectured by Hatayama et al. in its full generality, by extending the results of Di Francesco and Kedem to the non-simply laced case. To this end, we will derive explicit expressions for the quantum $Q$-system relations, which are quantum cluster mutations that correspond to the classical $Q$-system relations, and write the identity of the $q$-graded fermionic sums as a constant term identity. As an application, we will show that these quantum $Q$-system relations are consistent with the short exact sequence of the Feigin-Loktev fusion product of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules obtained by Chari and Venkatesh.

Abstract:These lecture notes survey some joint work with Samson Abramsky as it was presented by me at several conferences in the summer of 2005. It concerns `doing quantum mechanics using only pictures of lines, squares, triangles and diamonds'. This picture calculus can be seen as a very substantial extension of Dirac's notation, and has a purely algebraic counterpart in terms of so-called Strongly Compact Closed Categories (introduced by Abramsky and I in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="quant-ph/0402130" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/quant-ph/0402130">quant-ph/0402130</a> and [4]) which subsumes my Logic of Entanglement <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="quant-ph/0402014" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/quant-ph/0402014">quant-ph/0402014</a>. Abstract:We relate Berezin-Toeplitz quantization of higher rank vector bundles to quantum-classical hybrid systems and quantization in stages of symplectic fibrations. We apply this picture to the analysis and geometry of vector bundles, including the spectral gap of the Berezin transform and the convergence rate of Donaldson's iterations towards balanced metrics on stable vector bundles. We also establish refined estimates in the scalar case to compute the rate of Donaldson's iterations towards balanced metrics on Kähler manifolds with constant scalar curvature.

Quantum Analytic Langlands Correspondence

Abstract:The analytic Langlands correspondence describes the solution to the spectral problem for the quantised Hitchin Hamiltonians. It is related to the S-duality of $\cal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory. We propose a one-parameter deformation of the Analytic Langlands Correspondence, and discuss its relations to quantum field theory. The partition functions of the $H_3^+$ WZNW model are interpreted as the wave-functions of a spherical vector in the quantisation of complex Chern-Simons theory. Verlinde line operators generate a representation of two copies of the quantised skein algebra on generalised partition functions. We conjecture that this action generates a basis for the underlying Hilbert space, and explain in which sense the resulting quantum theory represents a deformation of the Analytic Langlands Correspondence.

Geometric realizations of the Bethe ansatz equations

Abstract:These lecture notes are devoted to the recent progress in the geometric aspects of quantum integrable systems based on quantum groups solved using the Bethe ansatz technique. One part is devoted to their enumerative geometry realization through the quantum K-theory of Nakajima quiver varieties. The other part describes a recently studied $q$-deformation of the correspondence between oper connections and Gaudin models. The notes are based on a minicourse at C.I.M.E. Summer School ``Enumerative geometry, quantisation and moduli spaces," September 04-08, 2023.

Abstract:We argue that Hitchin’s equation determines not only the low energy effective theory but also describes the UV theory of four dimensional N = 2 superconformal field theories when we compactify six dimensional A N (0, 2) theory on a punctured Riemann surface. We study singular solutions to Hitchin’s equation and the Highs field of equation has a simple pole at the punctures; We show that the massless theory is associated with Higgs field whose residue is a nilpotent element; We identify the flavor symmetry associated with the puncture by studying the singularity of closure of the moduli space of solutions with the appropriate boundary conditions. For mass-deformed theory the residue of the Higgs field is a semi-simple element, we identify the semi-simple element by arguing that the moduli space of solutions of mass-deformed theory must be a deformation of the closure of the moduli space of massless theory. We also study the Seiberg-Witten curve by identifying it as the spectral curve of the Hitchin’s system. The results are all in agreement with Gaiotto’s results derived from studying the Seiberg-Witten curve of four dimensional quiver gauge theory.

Abstract:Quantum integrable systems and their classical counterparts are considered. We show that the symplectic structure and invariant tori of the classical system can be deformed by a quantization parameter $\hbar$ to produce a new (classical) integrable system. The new tori selected by the $\hbar$-equidistance rule represent the spectrum of the quantum system up to $O(\hbar^\infty)$ and are invariant under quantum dynamics in the long-time range $O(\hbar^{-\infty})$. The quantum diffusion over the deformed tori is described. The analytic apparatus uses quantum action-angle coordinates explicitly constructed by an $\hbar$-deformation of the classical action-angles.

Abstract:Expository notes which combine a historical survey of the development of quantum physics with a review of selected mathematical topics in quantization theory (addressed to students that are not complete novices in quantum mechanics). After recalling in the introduction the early stages of the quantum revolution, and recapitulating in Sect. 2.1 some basic notions of symplectic geometry, we survey in Sect. 2.2 the so called prequantization thus preparing the ground for an outline of geometric quantization (Sect. 2.3). In Sect. 3 we apply the general theory to the study of basic examples of quantization of Kaehler manifolds. In Sect. 4 we review the Weyl and Wigner maps and the work of Groenewold and Moyal that laid the foundations of quantum mechanics in phase space, ending with a brief survey of the modern development of deformation quantization. Sect. 5 provides a review of second quantization and its mathematical interpretation. We point out that the treatment of (nonrelativistic) bound states requires going beyond the neat mathematical formalization of the concept of second quantization. An appendix is devoted to Pascual Jordan, the least known among the creators of quantum mechanics and the chief architect of the "theory of quantized matter waves".
