Abstract:We find a precise relationship between the minimal extensions in $L^2$ and $L^p$ Ohsawa-Takegoshi extension theorems. This relationship also gives another proof to the $L^p$ version of the Ohsawa-Takegoshi extension theorem, which is different from the original proof due to Berndtsson-Păun.

Abstract:In this article, we consider the minimal $L^2$ integrals for the Hardy spaces and the Bergman spaces, and we present some relations between them, which can be regarded as the solutions of the finite points versions of Saitoh's conjecture for conjugate Hardy kernels. As applications, we give optimal $L^2$ extension theorems for the Hardy spaces, and characterizations for the holding of the equality in the optimal $L^2$ extension theorems.

Abstract:The celebrated Ohsawa--Takegoshi extension theorem for $L^2$ holomorphic functions on bounded pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb C^n$ is a fundamental result in several complex variables and complex geometry. Ohsawa conjectured in 1995 that the same theorem still holds for more general bounded complete Kähler domains in $\mathbb C^n$. Recently, Chen--Wu--Wang confirmed this conjecture in a special case. In this paper we extend their result to the case of holomorphic sections of twisted canonical bundles over relatively compact complete Kähler domains in Stein manifolds. As an application we prove a Hartogs type extension theorem for plurisubharmonic functions across a compact complete pluripolar set, which is complementary to a classical result of Shiffman and can be seen as an analogue of the Skoda--El Mir extension theorem for plurisubharmonic functions -- a result that has been vacant since at least 1985.

$L^2$-extension indices, sharper estimates and curvature positivity

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a new concept of $L^2$-extension indices. This index is a function that gives the minimum constant with respect to the $L^2$-estimate of an Ohsawa--Takegoshi-type extension at each point. By using this notion, we propose a new way to study the positivity of curvature. We prove that there is an equivalence between how sharp the $L^2$-extension is and how positive the curvature is. New examples of sharper $L^2$-extensions are also systematically given. As applications, we use the $L^2$-extension index to study Prékopa-type theorems and to study the positivity of a certain direct image sheaf. We also provide new characterizations of pluriharmonicity and curvature flatness.

Abstract:For a continuous function, we prove that the function is pluriharmonic if and only if the equality part of the optimal Ohsawa--Takegoshi $L^2$-extension theorem is satisfied with respect to the metric having the function as a weight. This partially resolves the conjecture proposed by the author.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the existence of a bounded linear extension operator $T: L^{2,p}(E) \rightarrow L^{2,p}(\mathbb{R}^2)$ when $1<p<2$, where $E \subset \mathbb{R}^2$ is a certain discrete set with fractal structure. Our proof makes use of a theorem of Fefferman-Klartag on the existence of linear extension operators for radially symmetric binary trees.

Abstract:We introduce the homogeneous and piecewise multilinear extensions and the eigenvalue problem for locally Lipschitz function pairs, in order to develop a systematic framework for relating discrete and continuous min-max problems. This also enables us to investigate spectral properties for pairs of $p$-homogeneous functions and to propose a critical point theory for zero-homogeneous functions. The main contributions are: (1) We provide several min-max relations between an original discrete formulation and its piecewise multilinear extension. We introduce the concept of perfect domain pairs to view comonotonicity on vectors as an extension of inclusion chains on sets. The piecewise multi-linear extension is (slice-)rank preserving, which closely relates to Tao's lemma on diagonal tensors. More discrete-to-continuous equalities are obtained, including a general form involving log-concave polynomials. And by employing these fundamental correspondences, we get further results and applications on tensors, Turán's problem, signed (hyper-)graphs, etc. (2) We derive the mountain pass characterization, linking theorems, nodal domain inequalities, inertia bounds, duality theorems and distribution of eigenvalues for pairs of $p$-homogeneous functions. We establish a new property on the subderivative of a convex function which relates to the Gauss map of the graph of the convex function. Based on these fundamental results, we can analyze the structure of eigenspaces in depth. For example, we show a simple one-to-one correspondence between the nonzero eigenvalues of the vertex p-Laplacian and the edge $p^*$-Laplacian of a graph. We also apply the theory to Cheeger inequalities and $p$-Laplacians on oriented hypergraphs and simplicial complexes. Also, the first nonlinear analog of Huang's approach for hypergraphs is provided.

Abstract:We obtain a general Ohsawa-Takegoshi extension theorem by using the Ross-Witt Nyström correspondence for deformation to the normal cones. In particular, our result gives a sharp lower bound of the Bergman kernel in terms of Witt Nyström's canonical growth condition for ample line bundles.

Abstract:We show that, for a certain large class of power-bounded $o$-minimal $\mathcal{L}_T$-theories $T$ whose field of exponents is infinite-dimensional as a vector space over the rationals, any definable set in a $T$-convex valued field $(\mathcal{R}, \mathfrak{O})$ is in a precise sense the limit of a family of $\mathcal{L}_T$-definable sets indexed over the residue field. Alternatively, in the mainstream model-theoretic language, this says that if $(\mathcal{R}', \mathfrak{O}')$ is an elementary substructure of $(\mathcal{R}, \mathfrak{O})$ and if the residue field of $\mathfrak{O}$ contains an element that is infinitesimal relative to the residue field of $\mathfrak{O}'$ then any set $A \subseteq (\mathcal{R}')^m$ definable in $(\mathcal{R}', \mathfrak{O}')$ is the trace of a set definable in $\mathcal{R}$.

Abstract:We give a new proof of Kollár’s conjecture on the derived pushforward of the dualizing sheaf twisted by a variation of Hodge structure. This conjecture has been settled by M. Saito via the theory of mixed Hodge modules and has various applications in the investigation of Albanese maps. Our technique is L^2 theoretic which gives concrete constructions and proofs to the conjecture. The L^2 point of view allows us to generalize Kollár’s conjecture to the context of non-abelian Hodge theory.

Abstract:Let $L^{s,p}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ denote the homogeneous Sobolev-Slobodeckij space. In this paper, we demonstrate the existence of a bounded linear extension operator from the jet space $J^{\lfloor s \rfloor}_E L^{s,p}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ to $L^{s,p}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ for any $E \subseteq \mathbb{R}^n$, $p \in [1, \infty)$, and $s \in (0, \infty)$ satisfying $\frac{n}{p} < \{s\}$, where $\{s\}$ represents the fractional part of $s$. Our approach builds upon the classical Whitney extension operator and uses the method of exponentially decreasing paths.

Abstract: In this short paper we study $L_f^p$-Liouville property with $0<p<1$ for nonnegative $f$-subharmonic functions on a complete noncompact smooth metric measure space $(M,g,e^{-f}dv)$ with $\mathrm{Ric}_f^m$ bounded below for $0<m\leq\infty$. Abstract:Recently, variable selection and sparse reconstruction are solved by finding an optimal solution of a minimization model, where the objective function is the sum of a data-fitting term in l(2) norm and a regularization term in l(p) norm (0 < p < 1). Since it is a nonconvex model, most algorithms for solving the problem can provide only an approximate local optimal solution, where nonzero entries in the solution cannot be identified theoretically. In this paper, we establish lower bounds for the absolute value of nonzero entries in every local optimal solution of the model, which can be used to indentify zero entries precisely in any numerical solution. Therefore, we have developed a lower bound theorem to classify zero and nonzero entries in every local solution. These lower boundsclearly show the relationship between the sparsity of the solution and the choice of the regularization parameter and norm so that our theorem can be used for selecting desired model parameters and norms. Furthermore, we also develop error bounds for verifying the accuracy of numerical solutions of the l(2)-(p) minimization model. To demonstrate applications of our theory, we propose a hybrid orthogonal matching pursuit-smoothing gradient (OMP-SG) method for solving the nonconvex, non-Lipschitz continuous l(2)-l(p) minimization problem. Computational results show the effectiveness of the lower bounds for identifying nonzero entries in numerical solutions and the OMP-SG method for finding a high quality numerical solution.
