Abstract:We prove the self-improvement property of the Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator on quasi-Banach lattices with the Fatou property in the setting of spaces of homogeneous type. Our result is a generalization of the boundedness criterion obtained in 2010 by Lerner and Ombrosi for maximal operators on quasi-Banach function spaces over Euclidean spaces. The specialty of the proof for spaces of homogeneous type lies in using adjacent grids of Hytönen--Kairema dyadic cubes and studying the maximal operator alongside its dyadic version. Then we apply the obtained result to variable Lebesgue spaces over spaces of homogeneous type.

Abstract:Let L := -∆ + V be a Schrödinger operator with the nonnegative potential V belonging to the reverse Hölder class RHq 0 (R n ) for some q 0 ∈ [n, ∞) with n ≥ 3, and ϕ :the class of uniformly Muckenhoupt weights) and its uniformly critical lower type index i(ϕ) ∈ ( n n+1 , 1].In this article, the authors prove that the second order Riesz transform ∇ 2 L -1 associated with L is bounded from the Musielak-Orlicz-Hardy space associated with L, H ϕ, L (R n ), to the Musielak-Orlicz-Hardy space Hϕ(R n ), via establishing an atomic characterization of H ϕ, L (R n ).As an application, the authors prove that the operator V L -1 is bounded on the Musielak-Orlicz-Hardy space H ϕ, L (R n ), which further gives the maximal inequality associated with L in H ϕ, L (R n ).All these results are new even when ϕ(x, t) := t p , with p ∈ ( n n+1 , 1], for all x ∈ R n and t ∈ [0, ∞).

Abstract:The main goal of this paper is to provide a complete characterization of the weak-type boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator, $M$, on weighted Lorentz spaces $\Lambda^p_u(w)$, whenever $p>1$. This solves a problem left open in \cite{crs:crs}. Moreover, with this result, we complete the program of unifying the study of the boundedness of $M$ on weighted Lebesgue spaces and classical Lorentz spaces, which was initiated in the aforementioned monograph.

Abstract:We introduce a discrete version of weighted Morrey spaces, and discuss the inclusion relations of these spaces. In addition, we obtain the boundedness of discrete weighted Hardy-Littlewood maximal operators on discrete weighted Lebesgue spaces by establishing a discrete Calderón-Zygmund decomposition for weighted -sequences. Furthermore, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of the discrete Hardy-Littlewood maximal operators on discrete weighted Morrey spaces are discussed. Particularly, the necessary and sufficient conditions are also discussed for the discrete power weights.

On the Bounds of Weak $(1,1)$ Norm of Hardy-Littlewood Maximal Operator with $L\log L({\mathbb S^{n-1}})$ Kernels

Abstract: Let $\Omega\in L^1{({\mathbb S^{n-1}})}$, be a function of homogeneous of degree zero, and $M_\Omega$ be the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator associated with $\Omega$ defined by $M_\Omega(f)(x) = \sup_{r>0}\frac1{r^n}\int_{|x-y|<r}|\Omega(x-y)f(y)|dy.$ It was shown by Christ and Rubio de Francia that $\|M_\Omega(f)\|_{L^{1,\infty}({\mathbb R^n})} \le C(\|\Omega\|_{L\log L({\mathbb S^{n-1}})}+1)\|f\|_{L^1({\mathbb R^n})}$ provided $\Omega\in L\log L {({\mathbb S^{n-1}})}$. In this paper, we show that, if $\Omega\in L\log L({\mathbb S^{n-1}})$, then for all $f\in L^1({\mathbb R^n})$, $M_\Omega$ enjoys the limiting weak-type behaviors that $$\lim_{\lambda\to 0^+}\lambda|\{x\in{\mathbb R^n}:M_\Omega(f)(x)>\lambda\}| = n^{-1}\|\Omega\|_{L^1({\mathbb S^{n-1}})}\|f\|_{L^1({\mathbb R^n})}.$$ This removes the smoothness restrictions on the kernel $\Omega$, such as Dini-type conditions, in previous results. To prove our result, we present a new upper bound of $\|M_\Omega\|_{L^1\to L^{1,\infty}}$, which essentially improves the upper bound $C(\|\Omega\|_{L\log L({\mathbb S^{n-1}})}+1)$ given by Christ and Rubio de Francia. As a consequence, the upper and lower bounds of $\|M_\Omega\|_{L^1\to L^{1,\infty}}$ are obtained for $\Omega\in L\log L {({\mathbb S^{n-1}})}$.

Abstract:We summarize some results as well as we prove some new results about the Orlicz–Lorentz–Karamata spaces and martingale Hardy Orlicz–Lorentz–Karamata spaces. More precisely, Doob's maximal inequality for submartingales and Burkholder–Davis–Gundy inequality are presented. We also show some fundamental martingale inequalities and modular inequalities. Additionally, based on atomic decompositions, duality theorems and fractional integral operators are discussed. As applications in Fourier analysis, we consider the Walsh–Fourier series on Orlicz–Lorentz–Karamata spaces. The dyadic maximal operators on martingale Hardy Orlicz–Lorentz–Karamata spaces are presented. The boundedness of maximal Fejér operator is proved, which further implies some convergence results of the Fejér means.

Abstract:In this paper, using the method of stationary phase, we obtain the uniform asymptotic behavior of the Poisson kernel, associated to the canonical sub-Laplacian as well as the full Laplacian, on Heisenberg-type groups ℍ ( 2n, m ) . We prove that there exists a constant C > 0 , independent of (n, m), such that ‖ M_K ‖ _L^1 → L^1, ∞≤ C n , where M_K denotes the centered Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator defined by the Korányi norm. While for M = M_CC or M_R , the corresponding operator related to the canonical sub-Riemannian and Riemannian distance respectively, we obtain ‖ M ‖ _L^1 → L^1, ∞≤ C ( 3 / 2 )^ m / 2 n . In particular, we provide an affirmative answer to the question left open in Li and Qian (Trans Am Math Soc 366:1497–1524, 2014) [22] by means of a much simpler method. Besides, these bounds are perfectly matched with the associated Green function. Furthermore, the ( 3 / 2 )^ m / 2 n order bound remains uniformly valid, whenever the canonical Sub-Riemannian or Riemannian distance are replaced by a large class of Carnot-Carathéodory distances.

Abstract:Assume that L is a non-negative self-adjoint operator on L2(ℝn) with its heat kernels satisfying the so-called Gaussian upper bound estimate and that X is a ball quasi-Banach function space on ℝn satisfying some mild assumptions. Let HX, L(ℝn) be the Hardy space associated with both X and L, which is defined by the Lusin area function related to the semigroup generated by L. In this article, the authors establish various maximal function characterizations of the Hardy space HX,L(ℝn) and then apply these characterizations to obtain the solvability of the related Cauchy problem. These results have a wide range of generality and, in particular, the specific spaces X to which these results can be applied include the weighted space, the variable space, the mixed-norm space, the Orlicz space, the Orlicz-slice space, and the Morrey space. Moreover, the obtained maximal function characterizations of the mixed-norm Hardy space, the Orlicz-slice Hardy space, and the Morrey-Hardy space associated with L are completely new.

Let $H_{\varphi,\,L}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ be the Musielak-Orlicz-Hardy space introduced via the Lusin area function associated with the heat semigroup of $L$. In this article, the authors obtain several maximal function characterizations of the space $H_{\varphi,\,L}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, which, especially, answer an open question of L. Song and L. Yan under an additional mild assumption satisfied by Schr\"odinger operators on $\mathbb{R}^n$ with non-negative potentials belonging to the reverse H\"older class, and second-order divergence form elliptic operators on $\mathbb{R}^n$ with bounded measurable real coefficients.

Abstract:Abstract Let $$0<q\le \infty $$ 0 < q ≤ ∞ , b be a slowly varying function and $$ \Phi : [0,\infty ) \longrightarrow [0,\infty ) $$ Φ : [ 0 , ∞ ) ⟶ [ 0 , ∞ ) be an increasing function with $$\Phi (0)=0$$ Φ ( 0 ) = 0 and $$\lim \limits _{r \rightarrow \infty }\Phi (r)=\infty $$ lim r → ∞ Φ ( r ) = ∞ . In this paper, we introduce a new class of function spaces $$L_{\Phi ,q,b}$$ L Φ , q , b which unify and generalize the Lorentz-Karamata spaces with $$\Phi (t)=t^p$$ Φ ( t ) = t p and the Orlicz-Lorentz spaces with $$b\equiv 1$$ b ≡ 1 . Based on the new spaces, we introduce five new Hardy spaces containing martingales, the so-called Orlicz-Lorentz-Karamata Hardy martingale spaces and then develop a theory of these martingale Hardy spaces. To be precise, we first investigate several properties of Orlicz-Lorentz-Karamata spaces and then present Doob’s maximal inequalities by using Hardy’s inequalities. The characterization of these Hardy martingale spaces are constructed via the atomic decompositions. As applications of the atomic decompositions, martingale inequalities and the relation of the different martingale Hardy spaces are presented. The dual theorems and a new John-Nirenberg type inequality for the new framework are also established. Moreover, we study the boundedness of fractional integral operators on Orlicz-Lorentz-Karamata Hardy martingale spaces. The results obtained here generalize the previous results for Lorentz-Karamata Hardy martingale spaces as well as for Orlicz-Lorentz Hardy martingales spaces. Especially, we remove the condition that b is non-decreasing as in [38, 39] and the condition $$q_{\Phi ^{-1}}<1/q$$ q Φ - 1 < 1 / q in [24], respectively.
