Abstract:We prove that every closed, smooth $n$-manifold $X$ admits a Riemannian metric together with a smooth, transversely oriented CMC foliation if and only if its Euler characteristic is zero, where by CMC foliation we mean a codimension-one, transversely oriented foliation with leaves of constant mean curvature and where the value of the constant mean curvature can vary from leaf to leaf. Furthermore, we prove that this CMC foliation of $X$ can be chosen so that the constant values of the mean curvatures of its leaves change sign. We also prove a general structure theorem for any such non-minimal CMC foliation of $X$ that describes relationships between the geometry and topology of the leaves, including the property that there exist compact leaves for every attained value of the mean curvature.

Abstract:In this paper, we show that any compact Kähler manifold homotopic to a compact Riemannian manifold with negative sectional curvature admits a Kähler–Einstein metric of general type. Moreover, we prove that, on a compact symplectic manifold X homotopic to a compact Riemannian manifold with negative sectional curvature, for any almost complex structure J compatible with the symplectic form, there is no non-constant J-holomorphic entire curve $f:{\mathbb C \,}\rightarrow X$.

Abstract: By using analytic method, we prove that there exist rational curves on compact Hermitian manifolds with positive holomorphic bisectional curvature. It confirms a question of S.-T. Yau. It is well-known that Mori proved in \cite{Mori79} that every compact complex manifold $N$ with $c_1(N)>0$ contains at least one rational curve. However, as a borderline example, we show that the standard Hopf surface $S^1\times S^3$ has a Hermitian metric with non-negative holomorphic bisectional curvature (in particular, $c_1(S^1\times S^3)\geq 0$), but it contains no rational curve.

Abstract:In this paper, we study some intrinsic characterization of conformally compact manifolds. We show that, if a complete Riemannian manifold admits an essential set and its curvature tends to −1 at infinity in certain rate, then it is conformally compactifiable and the compactified metrics can enjoy some regularity at infinity. As a consequence we prove some rigidity theorems for complete manifolds whose curvature tends to the hyperbolic one in a rate greater than 2.

Abstract:We construct an explicit example of a smooth isotopy $\{\xi_t\}_{t \in [0,1]}$ of volume- and orientation-preserving diffeomorphisms on $[0,1]^n$ ($n \geq 3$) that has infinite total kinetic energy. This isotopy has no self-cancellation and is supported on countably many disjoint tubular neighbourhoods of homothetic copies of the isometrically embedded image of $(M,g)$, a "topologically complicated" Riemannian manifold-with-boundary. However, there exists another smooth isotopy that coincides with $\{\xi_t\}$ at $t=0$ and $t=1$ but of finite total kinetic energy.

Rigidity and nonexistence of CMC hypersurfaces in 5-manifolds

Abstract:We prove that the nonnegative $3$-intermediate Ricci curvature and uniformly positive $k$-triRic curvature implies rigidity of complete noncompact two-sided stable minimal hypersurfaces in a Riemannian manifold $(X^5,g)$ with bounded geometry. The nonnegativity of $3$-intermediate Ricci curvature can be replaced by nonnegative Ricci and biRic curvature. In particular, there is no complete noncompact finite index CMC hypersurface in a closed $5$-dimensional manifold with positive sectional curvature. It extends result of Chodosh-Li-Stryker [to appear in J. Eur. Math. Soc (2024)] to $5$-dimensions. We also prove that complete constant mean curvature hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^5$ with finite index and the mean curvature greater than $\frac{\sqrt{65}}{8}$ must be compact. This improves the previous larger bound $\frac{\sqrt{175}}{\sqrt{148}}$ on the mean curvature.

Abstract:In this paper, we study physical measures for partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms with multi one-dimensional centers under the condition that all Gibbs $u$-states are hyperbolic. We prove the finiteness of ergodic physical measures. Then by building a criterion for the basin covering property of physical measures, we obtain the basin covering property for ergodic physical measures when there exists some limit measure of empirical measures for Lebesgue almost every point that admits the same sign of Lyapunov exponents on each center.

Abstract:We study the partially hyperbolic diffeomorphims whose center direction admits the u-definite property in the sense that all the central Lyapunov exponents of each ergodic Gibbs u-state are either all positive or all negative. We prove that for this kind of partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms, there are finitely many physical measures, whose basins cover a full Lebesgue measure subset of the ambient space.

Abstract: In this article we prove that for a $C^{1+\alpha}$ diffeomorphism on a compact Riemannian manifold, if there is a hyperbolic ergodic measure whose support is not uniformly hyperbolic, then the topological entropy of the set of irregular points that are not uniformly hyperbolic is larger than or equal to the metric entropy of the hyperbolic ergodic measure. In the process of proof, we give an abstract general mechanism to study topological entropy of irregular points provided that the system has a sequence of nondecreasing invariant compact subsets such that every subsystem has shadowing property and is transitive.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the compactness of a boundary value problem for hyperkaehler 4-manifolds. We show that under certain topological conditions and the positive mean curvature condition on the boundary, a sequence of hyperkaehler triples converges smoothly up to diffeomorphisms if and only if their restrictions to the boundary converge smoothly up to diffeomorphisms. We also generalize this result to torsion-free hypersymplectic triples.

Abstract:In this note we prove three rigidity results for Einstein manifolds with bounded covering geometry. (1) An almost flat manifold $(M,g)$ must be flat if it is Einstein, i.e. $\operatorname{Ric}_g=\lambda g$ for some real number $\lambda$. (2) A compact Einstein manifolds with a non-vanishing and almost maximal volume entropy is hyperbolic. (3) A compact Einstein manifold admitting a uniform local rewinding almost maximal volume is isometric to a space form.

Abstract:We consider triholomorphic maps u from an almost hyper-Hermitian manifold M-4m into a (simply connected) hyperKahler manifold N-4n . This entails that the map u is an element of W-1,W-2 satisfies a quaternionic del-bar equation. We work under the assumption that u is locally strongly approximable in W-1,W-2 by smooth maps; such maps are almost stationary harmonic in a suitable sense (in the important special case that M is hyperKahler as well, they are stationary harmonic). We show, by means of the bmo-h(1) duality, that in this more general situation the classical epsilon-regularity result still holds and we establish the validity, for triholomorphic maps, of the W-2,W-1-conjecture (i.e. an a priori W-2,W-1-estimate in terms of the energy). We then address compactness issues for a weakly converging sequence u(l) -> u(infinity) of strongly approximable triholomorphic maps u(l) : M -> N with uniformly bounded Dirichlet energies. The blow-up analysis leads, as in the usual stationary setting, to the existence of a rectifiable blow-up set Sigma of codimension 2, away from which the sequence converges strongly. The defect measure Theta (x)H4m-2 left perpendicular Sigma encodes the loss of energy in the limit and we prove that for a.e. point on Sigma the value of Theta is given by the sum of the energies of a (finite) number of smooth non-constant holomorphic bubbles (here the holomorphy is understood with respect to a complex structure on N that depends on the chosen point on Sigma). When M is hyperKahler this quantization result was established by C. Y. Wang [41] with a different proof; our arguments rely on Lorentz spaces estimates. By means of a calibration argument and a homological argument we further prove that whenever the restriction of Sigma to an open ball B subset of M \ Sing(u infinity) is covered by a connected (4m - 2)-dimensional Lipschitz graph, then actually Sigma boolean AND B is a smooth submanifold and it is pseudo-holomorphic for a (unique) almost complex structure on M (with Theta constant on this portion); moreover the bubbles originating at points of Sigma boolean AND B are all holomorphic for a common complex structure on N.

Abstract:Let be a diffeomorphism on an -dimensional compact smooth Riemannian manifold M and a hyperbolic ergodic f-invariant probability measure. This paper obtains an upper bound for the stable (unstable) pointwise dimension of , which is given by the unique solution of an equation involving the sub-additive measure-theoretic pressure. If is a Sinai–Ruelle–Bowen (SRB) measure, then the Kaplan–Yorke conjecture is true under some additional conditions and the Lyapunov dimension of can be approximated gradually by the Hausdorff dimension of a sequence of hyperbolic sets . The limit behaviour of the Carathéodory singular dimension of on the unstable manifold with respect to the super-additive singular valued potential is also studied.

Abstract:We construct examples illustrating that dynamically-defined distributions of holomorphic diffeomorphisms on compact complex manifolds are not necessarily holomorphic in any open subset. More precisely, for any $n\geq 5$, we construct a holomorphic fibered partially hyperbolic system on a complex $n$-fold, where the center distribution is not holomorphic in any open subset. For $n=3$ we demonstrate a contrast: the center distribution of any fibered holomorphic partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism on a complex $3$-fold is holomorphic. In particular, any such a system is a holomorphic skew product over a linear automorphism on a complex $2$-torus.

In this article, we prove that, for every robustly transitive set Lambda, f vertical bar(Lambda) satisfies a C-1-generic-stable shadowable property (resp., C-1-generic-stable transitive specification property or C-1-generic-stable barycenter property) if and only if Lambda is a hyperbolic basic set.
