Abstract:In this paper we describe all invariant complex Dirac structures with constant real index on a maximal flag manifold in terms of the roots of the Lie algebra which defines the flag manifold. We also completely classify these structures under the action of $B$-transformations.

Abstract:In recent work, Lusztig's positive root vectors (with respect to a distinguished choice of reduced decomposition of the longest element of the Weyl group) were shown to give a quantum tangent space for every $A$-series Drinfeld--Jimbo full quantum flag manifold $\mathcal{O}_q(\mathrm{F}_n)$. Moreover, the associated differential calculus $\Omega^{(0,\bullet)}_q(\mathrm{F}_n)$ was shown to have classical dimension, giving a direct $q$-deformation of the classical anti-holomorphic Dolbeault complex of $\mathrm{F}_n$. Here we examine in detail the rank two case, namely the full quantum flag manifold of $\mathcal{O}_q(\mathrm{SU}_3)$. In particular, we examine the $*$-differential calculus associated to $\Omega^{(0,\bullet)}_q(\mathrm{F}_3)$ and its non-commutative complex geometry. We find that the number of almost-complex structures reduces from $8$ (that is $2$ to the power of the number of positive roots of $\frak{sl}_3$) to $4$ (that is $2$ to the power of the number of simple roots of $\frak{sl}_3$). Moreover, we show that each of these almost-complex structures is integrable, which is to say, each of them is a complex structure. Finally, we observe that, due to non-centrality of all the non-degenerate coinvariant $2$-forms, none of these complex structures admits a left $\mathcal{O}_q(\mathrm{SU}_3)$-covariant noncommutative Kähler structure.

Abstract:For the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebra $U_q(\frak{sl}_{n+1})$, we show that the span of Lusztig's positive root vectors, with respect to Littlemann's nice reduced decompositions of the longest element of the Weyl group, form quantum tangent spaces for the full quantum flag manifold $\mathcal{O}_q(\mathrm{F}_{n+1})$. The associated differential calculi are direct $q$-deformations of the anti-holomorphic Dolbeault complex of the classical full flag manifold $\mathrm{F}_{n+1}$. As an application we establish a quantum Borel-Weil theorem for the $A_n$-series full quantum flag manifold, giving a noncommutative differential geometric realisation of all the finite-dimensional type-$1$ irreducible representations of $U_q(\frak{sl}_{n+1})$. Restricting this differential calculus to the quantum Grassmannians is shown to reproduce the celebrated Heckenberger-Kolb anti-holomorphic Dolbeault complex. Lusztig's positive root vectors for non-nice decompositions of the longest element of the Weyl group are examined for low orders, and are exhibited to either not give tangents spaces, or to produce differential calculi of non-classical dimension.

Abstract:We prove that the moduli space of regular stable maps in a complex manifold admits a natural complex orbifold structure. Our proof is based on Hardy decompositions and Fredholm intersection theory.

Abstract:By using moving frames and directred digraphs, we study invariant (1,2)-symplectic structures on complex Rag manifolds. Let F be a Rag manifold with height k - 1. We show that there is a k-dimensional family of invariant (1,2)-symplectic metrics of any parabolic structure on F. We also prove any invariant almost complex structure J on F with height 4 admits an invariant (1,2)-symplectic metric if and only ii J is parabolic or integrable.

Abstract:This is an introduction and a survey on geometric structures modelled on closed orbits of real forms acting on spaces of flags. We focus on 3-manifolds and the flag space of all pairs of a point and a line containing it in $${\mathbb{P}}({\mathbb{C}}^3)$$ . It includes a description of general flag structures which are not necessarily flat and a combinatorial description of flat structures through configurations of flags in closed orbits of real forms. We also review volume and Chern–Simons invariants for those structures.
On complex Lie algebroids with constant real rank

Abstract:We associate a real distribution to any complex Lie algebroid that we call distribution of real elements and a new invariant that we call real rank given by the pointwise rank of this distribution. When the real rank is constant we obtain a real Lie algebroid inside the original complex Lie algebroid. Under another regularity condition we associate a complex Lie subalgebroid that we call the minimum complex subalgebroid. We also we provide a local splitting for complex Lie algebroids with constant real rank. In the end, we introduce the complex matched pair of skew-algebroids, these pairs produce complex Lie algebroid structures on the complexification of a vector bundle. We use this operation to characterize all the complex Lie algebroid structures on the complexification of real vector bundles.

Cohomology of complete unordered flag manifolds

Abstract:We consider quotients of complete flag manifolds in Cn and Rn by an action of the symmetric group on n objects. We compute their cohomology with field coefficients of any characteristic. Specifically, we show that these topological spaces exhibit homological stability and we provide a closed-form description of their stable cohomology rings. We also describe a simple algorithmic procedure to determine their unstable cohomology additively.

Abstract:We show that, inside the Shilov boundary of any given Hermitian symmetric space of tube type, there is, up to isomorphism, only one proper domain whose action by its automorphism group is cocompact. This gives a classification of all closed proper manifolds locally modelled on such Shilov boundaries, and provides a positive answer, in the case of flag manifolds admitting a $\Theta$-positive structure, to a rigidity question of Limbeek and Zimmer.

Abstract:For a general affine connection with parallel torsion and curvature, we show that a post-Lie algebra structure exists on its space of vector fields, generalizing previous results for flat connections. However, for non-flat connections, the vector fields alone are not enough, as the presence of curvature also necessitates that we include endomorphisms corresponding to infinitesimal actions of the holonomy group. We give details on the universal Lie algebra of this post-Lie algebra and give applications for solving differential equations on manifolds.

Abstract:An almost Abelian group is a non-Abelian Lie group with a codimension 1 Abelian subgroup. This paper investigates invariant Hermitian and Kähler structures on connected complex almost Abelian groups. We find explicit formulas for the left and right Haar measures, the modular function, and left and right generator vector fields on simply connected complex almost Abelian groups. From the generator fields, we obtain invariant vector and tensor field frames, allowing us to find an explicit form for all invariant tensor fields. Namely, all such invariant tensor fields have constant coefficients in the invariant frame. From this, we classify all invariant Hermitian forms on complex simply connected almost Abelian groups, and we prove the nonexistence of invariant Kähler forms on all such groups. Via constructions involving the pullback of the quotient map, we extend the explicit description of invariant Hermitian structures and the nonexistence of Kähler structures to connected almost Abelian groups.

Abstract:In this paper the notion of Dirac structure in finite dimension is extended to the convenient setting. In particular, we introduce the notion of partial Dirac structure on convenient Lie algebroids and manifolds. We then look for those structures whose classical geometrical results in finite dimension can be extended to this infinite dimensional context. Finally, we are interested in the projective and direct limits of such structures.

Abstract:In the present paper we consider two related problems, i.e. the description of geodesics and the calculation of the spectrum of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on a flag manifold. We show that there exists a family of invariant metrics such that both problems can be solved simply and explicitly. In order to determine the spectrum of the Laplace-Beltrami operator, we construct natural, finite-dimensional approximations (of spin chain type) to the Hilbert space of functions on a flag manifold.

Abstract:In this paper, we study Toeplitz operators on generalized flag manifolds of compact Lie groups using a representation-theoretic point of view. We prove several basic properties of these Toeplitz operators, including an abstract formula for their matrix coefficients in terms of the decomposition of certain tensor product representations. We also show how to identify large commuting families of Toeplitz operators based on invariance of their symbols under certain subgroups. Finally, we realize the Berezin transform as a convolution with certain functions that form an approximate identity on the generalized flag manifold, which allows us to prove a Szegö Limit Theorem using certain results due to Hirschman, Liang, and Wilson.
