Abstract:We show that the number of isomorphism classes of left braces of order~$64$ with additive group isomorphic to $C_2\times C_2\times C_4\times C_4$ is $10\,326\,821$. This completes the classification of left braces of order~$64$, that turn out to fall into $15\,095\,601$ isomorphism classes.

Abstract:We establish strong constraints on the kernel of the (reduced) Burau representation $\beta_4:B_4\to \text{GL}_3\left(\mathbb{Z}\left[q^{\pm 1}\right]\right)$ of the braid group $B_4$. We develop a theory to explicitly determine the entries of the Burau matrices of braids in $B_4$, and this is an important step toward demonstrating that $\beta_4$ is faithful (a longstanding question posed in the 1930s). The theory is based on a novel combinatorial interpretation of $\beta_4\left(g\right)$, in terms of the Garside normal form of $g\in B_4$ and a new product decomposition of positive braids. We develop cancellation results for words in matrix groups to show that if $\sigma$ is a generic positive braid in $B_4$ and if $t\neq 2$ is a prime number, then the leading coefficients in at least one row of the matrix $\beta_4\left(\sigma\right)$ are non-zero modulo $t$. We exploit these cancellation results to deduce that the Burau representation of $B_4$ is faithful almost everywhere.

Abstract:We determine right nilpotency of braces of cardinality $p^4$. If a brace of cardinality $p^4$ has an abelian multiplicative group, then it is left and right nilpotent, so we only consider braces with non-abelian multiplicative groups. We show right nilpotency in all cases using the sufficient condition of $A\ast c=0$ for some central element $c$ of a brace $A$.

Abstract:Left braces, introduced by Rump, have turned out to provide an important tool in the study of set theoretic solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. In particular, they have allowed to construct several new families of solutions. A left brace $(B,+,\cdot )$ is a structure determined by two group structures on a set $B$: an abelian group $(B,+)$ and a group $(B,\cdot)$, satisfying certain compatibility conditions. The main result of this paper shows that every finite abelian group $A$ is a subgroup of the additive group of a finite simple left brace $B$ with metabelian multiplicative group with abelian Sylow subgroups. This result complements earlier unexpected results of the authors on an abundance of finite simple left braces.

Abstract:Let $p>3$ be a prime number and let $A$ be a brace whose additive group is a direct sum of cyclic groups of cardinalities larger than $p^{\alpha }$ for some $\alpha $. Suppose that either (i) $A^{\lfloor{\frac {p-1}4}\rfloor}\subseteq pA$ or that (ii) the additive group of brace $A$ has rank smaller than ${\lfloor{\frac {p-1}4}\rfloor}$. It is shown that for every natural number $i\leq \alpha- {\frac {4\alpha }{p-1}}$ the factor brace $A/p^{i}A$ is obtained by a formula similar to the group of flows from a left nilpotent pre-Lie ring.

Abstract:In this article the right nilpotent $\mathbb{F}_p$-braces of cardinality $p^5$ has been classified. We use the connection between nilpotent $\mathbb{F}_p$-braces of cardinality $p^5$ and nilpotent pre-Lie algebras of the same order, building on the known relationship between pre-Lie algebras and braces. Leveraging insights from the classification of nilpotent pre-Lie algebras over $\mathbb{F}_p$, we aim to provide a comprehensive classification of right nilpotent $\mathbb{F}_p$-braces of cardinality $p^5$.

Abstract:Let $T_{4p}=\langle a,b\mid a^{2p}=1,a^p=b^2, b^{-1}ab=a^{-1}\rangle$ be the dicyclic group of order $4p$. A Cayley digraph over $T_{4p}$ is called a dicirculant digraph. In this paper, we calculate the number of (connected) dicirculant digraphs of order $4p$ ($p$ prime) up to isomorphism by using the Pólya Enumeration Theorem. Moreover, we get the number of (connected) dicirculant digraphs of order $4p$ ($p$ prime) and out-degree $k$ for every $k$.

Abstract:A left brace is a triple $(\mathcal{B},+,\cdot)$, where $(\mathcal{B},+)$ is an abelian group, $(\mathcal{B},\cdot)$ is a group, and there is a left-distributivity-like axiom that relates between the two operations in $\mathcal{B}$. In analogy with a left brace, we define a left $\mathscr{M}$-brace to be a triple $(\mathcal{B},+,\cdot)$, where $(\mathcal{B},+)$ is a commutative monoid, $(\mathcal{B},\cdot)$ is a monoid, and the axiom of left distributivity holds. A lcm-monoid $M$ is a left-cancellative monoid such that $1$ is the unique invertible element in $M$, and every pair of elements in $M$ admit a lcm with respect to left-divisibility. The class of lcm-monoids contains the Gaussian, quasi-Garside and Garside monoids. We show that every lcm-monoid induces a left $\mathscr{M}$-brace. Furthermore, we show that every Gaussian group induces a partial left brace.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a nonabelian group. We show how a collection of compatible endomorphisms $\psi_i:G\to G$ such that $\psi_i([G,G])\le Z(G)$ for all $i$ allows us to construct a family of bi-skew braces called a brace block. We relate this construction to other brace block constructions and interpret our results in terms of Hopf-Galois structures on Galois extensions. We give special consideration to the case where $G$ is of nilpotency class two, and we provide several examples, including finding the maximal brace block containing the group of quaternions.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to introduce and study the class of all left braces in which every subbrace is an ideal. We call them Dedekind left braces. It is proved that every finite Dedekind left brace is centrally nilpotent. Structural results about Dedekind left braces and a complete description of those ones whose additive group is elementary abelian are also shown. As a consequence, every hypermultipermutational Dedekind left brace whose additive group is elementary abelian is multipermutational of level $2$. A new class of left braces, the extraspecial left braces, is introduced and plays a prominent role in our approach.

Abstract:We introduce two common divisor graphs associated with a finite skew brace, based on its $\lambda$- and $\theta$-orbits. We prove that the number of connected components is at most two and the diameter of a connected component is at most four. Furthermore, we investigate their relationship with isoclinism. Similarly to its group theoretic inspiration, the skew braces with a graph with two disconnected vertices are very restricted and are determined. Finally, we classify all finite skew braces with a graph with one vertex, where four infinite families arise.
