Abstract:For a category with subobjects and factorization, here we describe a new category which we call category of chain bundles and it is shown that this new category is also a category with subobjects and admits factorization under certain restriction. Further we provide several examples of bundle categories and discuss some interesting properties of these categories.

Abstract:We pursue the study of Ultracategories initiated by Makkai and more recently Lurie by looking at properties of Ultracategories of complete metric structures, i.e. coming from continuous model theory, instead of ultracategories of models of first order theories. Our main result is that for any continuous theory $\mathbb{T}$, there is an equivalence between the category of left ultrafunctors from a compact Hausdorff space $X$ to the category of $\mathbb{T}$-models and a notion of bundle of $\mathbb{T}$-models over $X$. The notion of bundle of $\mathbb{T}$-models is new but recovers many classical notions like Bundle of Banach spaces, or (semi)-continuous field of $\mathrm{C}^*$-algebras or Hilbert spaces.

Chain duality for categories over complexes

Abstract:We show that the additive category of chain complexes parametrized by a finite simplicial complex $K$ forms a category with chain duality. This fact, never fully proven in the original reference, is fundamental for Ranicki's algebraic formulation of the surgery exact sequence of Sullivan and Wall, and his interpretation of the surgery obstruction map as the passage from local Poincaré duality to global Poincaré duality. Our paper also gives a new, conceptual, and geometric treatment of chain duality on $K$-based chain complexes.

Abstract:We introduce a category of Kuranishi presentations, whose objects are a variant of the Kuranishi structures introduced by Fukaya and Ono, and which can be seen as a refinement of the version studied by Pardon. We then formulate the notion of virtual chains categorically as a natural transformation between two functors from this category to the category of chain complexes; we call such a datum 'a theory of virtual counts'. To show that this definition carries non-trivial content, we then construct a multicategory whose objects are Kuranishi flow categories, and show that a theory of virtual counts determines a multifunctor to the multicategory of chain complexes. We then implement this construction in the setting of Hamiltonian Floer theory, borrowing from some joint work with Groman and Varolgunes, yielding a construction of Hamiltonian Floer groups (and operations on them) as an output of this machine. We plan to provide a similar account for Lagrangian Floer theory in subsequent joint work.

On Double Vector Bundles

Abstract:In this paper, we construct a category of short exact sequences of vector bundles and prove that it is equivalent to the category of double vector bundles. Moreover, operations on double vector bundles can be transferred to operations on the corresponding short exact sequences. In particular, we study the duality theory of double vector bundles in term of the corresponding short exact sequences. Examples including the jet bundle and the Atiyah algebroid are discussed.

Abstract:In this paper we propose unifying the categories of cochain complexes $\text{Ch}(\mathcal{C})$ and modules $\widehat{A}\text{-mod}$ over a repetitive algebra $\widehat{A}$. Motivated by their striking similarities and importance, we introduce a novel category encompassing both. Our analysis explores key properties of this unified category, highlighting its parallels and divergences from the original structures. We study whether it preserves crucial aspects like limits, colimits, products, coproducts, and abelianity. Besides, we establish a family of projective and injective indecomposable objects within this framework. Moving beyond theoretical foundations, we examine the influence and interaction over these novel categories of the category of endofunctors and its monoidal structure. Finally, we explore the implications of our constructions over representation theory of algebras and algebraic geometry.

Abstract:Connections between heaps of modules and (affine) modules over rings are explored. This leads to explicit, often constructive, descriptions of some categorical constructions and properties that are implicit in universal algebra and algebraic theories. In particular, it is shown that the category of groups with a compatible action of a truss T (also called pointed T-modules) is isomorphic to the category of modules over the ring R(T) universally associated to the truss. This is widely used in the explicit description of free objects. Next, it is proven that the category of heaps of modules over T is isomorphic to the category of affine modules over R(T) and, in order to make the picture complete, that (in the unital case) these are in turn equivalent to a specific subcategory of the slice category of pointed T-modules over R(T). These correspondences and properties are then used to describe explicitly various (co)limits and to compare short exact sequences in the Barr-exact category of heaps of T-modules with short exact sequences as defined previously.

Abstract:We obtain criteria for when a ring with enough idempotents is left/right artinian or noetherian in terms of local criteria defined by the associated complete set of idempotents for the ring. We apply these criteria to object unital category graded rings in general and, in particular, to the class of skew category algebras. Thereby, we generalize results by Nastasescu-van Oystaeyen, Bell, Park, and Zelmanov from the group graded case to groupoid, and in some cases category, gradings.

Abstract:In this paper, we explain how the abstract notion of a differential bundle in a tangent category provides a new way of thinking about the category of modules over a commutative ring and its opposite category. MacAdam previously showed that differential bundles in the tangent category of smooth manifolds are precisely smooth vector bundles. Here we provide characterizations of differential bundles in the tangent categories of commutative rings and (affine) schemes. For commutative rings, the category of differential bundles over a commutative ring is equivalent to the category of modules over that ring. For affine schemes, the category of differential bundles over the Spec of a commutative ring is equivalent to the opposite category of modules over said ring. Finally, for schemes, the category of differential bundles over a scheme is equivalent to the opposite category of quasi-coherent sheaves of modules over that scheme.

Abstract:A braided Ann-category [Formula: see text] is an Ann-category [Formula: see text] together with the braiding c such that ([Formula: see text], ⊗, a, c, (1, l, r)) is a braided tensor category, and c is compatible with the distributivity constraints. The paper shows the dependence of the left (or right) distributivity constraint on other axioms. Hence, the paper shows the relation to the concepts of distributivity category due to M. L. Laplaza and ring-like category due to A. Fröhlich and C.T.C Wall. The center construction of an almost strict Ann-category is an example of a non-symmetric braided Ann-category.

Abstract:A Riemannian metric bundle G(M) is a fiber bundle over a smooth manifold M, whose fibers are the spaces of symmetric, positive-definite bilinear forms on the tangent spaces of M, which represent the Rieman?nian metrics. In this work, we aim to study the category of Riemannian metric bundles and explore their connections with K-theory and other areas of mathematics. Our main motivation comes from the idea of multi-norms in Banach spaces, which have found applications in di?verse fields such as functional analysis, geometric group theory, and noncommutative geometry. The novelty of our work lies in the rigorous development of the theory of Riemannian metric bundles, and the application of this theory to the study of K-theory and other geometric invariants of manifolds. We hope that our work will contribute to a deeper understanding of the geometry and topology of manifolds equipped with Riemannian metric bundles, and provide new insights into the interplay between geometry, topology, and analysis.

Structures on the Category of N-Complexes

Abstract:The theory of $N$-complexes is a generalization of both ordinary chain complexes and graded objects. Hence it yields deeper insight in the structure of these and offers a broader range of applications. This work generalizes the tensor product of chain complexes and graded objects to the case of $N$-complexes using the structures of $q$-binomial coefficients. We then study different approaches to realize the derived category of $N$-complexes. In particular we realize it as the Verdier quotient of the homotopy category of $N$-complexes, as the $\mathrm{h}$-projective objects and as the homotopy category of a category admitting a Quillen model structure.

Abstract:In this paper, we define the derived category of weak chain U -complexes, and we give a characterization of any weak chain U -complex as an object in the right bounded homotopy category of weak chain U -complexes of projective modules. Then, we show that the homology functor between the category of chain complexes and weak chain U -complexes is a natural isomorphism by constructing an adjoint pair between these two categories.

Abstract:Each Ann-category $\A$ is equivalent to an Ann-category of the type $(R,M),$ where $M$ is an $R$-bimodule. The family of constraints of $A$ induces a {\it structure} on $(R,M).$ The main result of the paper is: 1. {\it There exists a bijection between the set of structures on $(R,M)$ and the group of Mac Lane 3-cocycles $Z^{3}_{MaL}(R, M).$} 2. {\it There exists a bijection between $C(R,M)$ of congruence classes of Ann-categories whose pre-stick is of the type $(R,M)$ and the Mac Lane cohomology group $H^3_{\textrm{MaL}}(R,M).$}

Abstract:In this paper, we study upper bounds for the topological complexity of the total spaces of some classes of fibre bundles. We calculate a tight upper bound for the topological complexity of an $n$-dimensional Klein bottle. We also compute the exact value of the topological complexity of $3$-dimensional Klein bottle. We describe the cohomology rings of several classes of generalized projective product spaces with $\mathbb{Z}_2$-coefficients. Then we study the LS-category and topological complexity of infinite families of generalized projective product spaces. We reckon the exact value of these invariants in many specific cases. We calculate the equivariant LS-category and equivariant topological complexity of several product spaces equipped with $\mathbb{Z}_2$-action.

Derived Braids of Decreasing Products and their Categories

Abstract:Derived braids have been used to classify categorical structures based on the braid underlying a braided monoidal category V. With four-strand braids underlying the composition morphisms of tensor products of categories enriched over V, equality of derived braids has been seen to correspond with the results of Joyal and Street on coherence for braided monoidal categories, namely that diagrams commute when the braids underlying the legs of the diagram are equal. Equality of derived braids can then be seen as a generalization of the Yang-Baxter equation that appears in the work of Joyal and Street. The main result is a proof that decreasing products, which are braids formed from component braids with even numbers of strands, have equivalent derived braids. Plans for future work include interpreting what categorical structures correspond to decreasing products.
