Abstract:This paper is to study cotorsion pairs and abelian model structures on some Morita rings \ $\Lambda =\left(\begin{smallmatrix} A & {}_AN_B {}_BM_A & B\end{smallmatrix}\right)$. From cotorsion pairs $(\mathcal U, \mathcal X)$ and $(\mathcal V, \mathcal Y)$, respectively in $A$-Mod and $B$-Mod, one constructs 4 kinds of cotorsion pairs in $\Lambda$-Mod. There even exists an algebra $\Lambda$ such that the four cotorsion pairs above are pairwise different. The heredity and completeness of these cotorsion pairs are studied. The problem of identifications, namely, when the first two cotorsion pairs are the same, and when the second two cotorsion pairs are the same, is investigated. Various model structures on $\Lambda$\mbox{-}{\rm Mod} are obtained, by explicitly giving the corresponding Hovey triples and Quillen's homotopy categories. In particular, cofibrantly generated Hovey triples, and the Gillespie-Hovey triples induced by compatible generalized projective (respectively, injective) cotorsion pairs, are explicitly contructed.

Abstract:We present the notion of "cyclic double multicategory", as a structure in which to organise multivariable adjunctions and mates. The classic example of a 2-variable adjunction is the hom/tensor/cotensor trio of functors; we generalise this situation to n+1 functors of n variables. Furthermore, we generalise the mates correspondence, which enables us to pass between natural transformations involving left adjoints to those involving right adjoints. While the standard mates correspondence is described using an isomorphism of double categories, the multivariable version requires the framework of "double multicategories". Moreover, we show that the analogous isomorphisms of double multicategories give a cyclic action on the multimaps, yielding the notion of "cyclic double multicategory". The work is motivated by and applied to Riehl's approach to algebraic monoidal model categories.

Abstract:Considering commutator monomials of the non-commutative associative variables $X_1,\ldots,X_n$; we determine the maximal possible number of alternating associative monomials in their noncommutative polynomial expansions. This is achieved by replacing generating functions with polytope sequences, which turn out to be finitely generated in some sense.

Abstract:In this paper, we produce a cellular motivic spectrum of motivic modular forms over $\R$ and $\C$, answering positively to a conjecture of Dan Isaksen. This spectrum is constructed to have the appropriate cohomology, as a module over the relevant motivic Steenrod algebra. We first produce a $\G$-equivariant version of this spectrum, and then use a machinery to construct a motivic spectrum from an equivariant one. We believe that this machinery will be of independent interest.

Cyclotomic nil-Brauer and Singular Soergel bimodules of type D

Abstract:We introduce a new family of monoidal categories which are cyclotomic quotients of the nil-Brauer category. We construct a monoidal functor from the cyclotomic nil-Brauer category to another monoidal category constructed from singular Soergel bimodules of type D. We conjecture that our functor is an equivalence of categories. Although we can prove neither fullness nor faithfulness at this point, we are able to show that the functor induces an isomorphism at the level of Grothendieck rings. We compute these rings and their canonical bases over any field of characteristic different from 2, and give diagrammatic descriptions of the corresponding primitive idempotents.

Abstract:We describe a structure on a commutative ring (pre)cyclotomic spectrum $R$ that gives rise to a (pre)cyclotomic structure on topological Hochschild homology ($THH$) relative to its underlying commutative ring spectrum. This lets us construct $TC$ relative to $R$, denoted $TC^{R}$, and we prove some descent results relating $TC^{R}$ and $TC$. We explore several examples of this structure on familiar $\mathbb{T}$-equivariant commutative ring spectra including the periodic $\mathbb{T}$-equivariant complex cobordism spectrum $MUP_{\mathbb{T}}$ and a new (connective) equivariant version of the complex cobordism spectrum $MU$.

A Categorical Approach to Möbius Inversion via Derived Functors

Abstract:We develop a cohomological approach to Möbius inversion using derived functors in the enriched categorical setting. For a poset $P$ and a closed symmetric monoidal abelian category $\mathcal{C}$, we define Möbius cohomology as the derived functors of an enriched hom functor on the category of $P$-modules. We prove that the Euler characteristic of our cohomology theory recovers the classical Möbius inversion, providing a natural categorification. As a key application, we prove a categorical version of Rota's Galois Connection. Our approach unifies classical ideas from combinatorics with homological algebra.

Abstract:We look at classes of semiassociative algebras, with an emphasis on those that canonically generalize associative (generalized) cyclic algebras, and at their behaviour in the semiassociative Brauer monoid defined by Blachar, Haile, Matzri, Rein, and Vishne. A possible way to generalize this monoid in characteristic $p$ that includes nonassociative differential algebras is briefly considered.

Abstract:We state results from noncommutative deformation theory of modules over an associative $k$-algebra $A,$ $k$ a field, necessary for this work. We define a set of $A$-modules $\operatorname{aSpec}A$ containing the simple modules, whose elements we call spectral, for which there exists a topology where the simple modules are the closed points. Applying results from deformation theory we prove that there exists a sheaf of associative rings $\mathcal O_X$ on the topological space $X=\operatorname{aSpec}A$ giving it the structure of a pointed ringed space. In general, an associative variety $X$ is a ringed space with an open covering $\{U_i=\operatorname{aSpec}{A_i}\}_{i\in I}.$ When $A$ is a commutative $k$-algebra, $\operatorname{aSpec}A\simeq\spec A,$ and so the category $\cat{aVar}_k$ of associative varieties is an extension of the category of varieties $\cat{Var}_k,$ i.e. there exists a faithfully full functor $I:\cat{Var}_k\rightarrow\cat{aVar}_k.$ Our main result says that any associative variety $X$ is $\operatorname{aSpec}(\mathcal O_X(X))$ for the $k$-algebra $\mathcal O_X(X),$ and so any study of varieties can be reduced to the study of the associative algebra $\mathcal O_X(X).$

The cyclotomic double shuffle torsor in terms of Betti and de Rham coproducts

Abstract:To describe the double shuffle relations between multiple polylogarithm values at $N$th roots of unity, Racinet attached to each finite cyclic group $G$ of order $N$ and each group embedding $\iota : G \to \mathbb{C}^{\times}$, a $\mathbb{Q}$-scheme $\mathsf{DMR}^{\iota}$ which associates to each commutative $\mathbb{Q}$-algebra $\mathbf{k}$, a set $\mathsf{DMR}^{\iota}(\mathbf{k})$ that can be decomposed as a disjoint union of sets $\mathsf{DMR}^{\iota}_{\lambda}(\mathbf{k})$ with $\lambda \in \mathbf{k}$. He also exhibited a $\mathbb{Q}$-group scheme $\mathsf{DMR}_0^G$ and showed that $\mathsf{DMR}^{\iota}_{\lambda}(\mathbf{k})$ is a torsor for the action of $\mathsf{DMR}_0^G(\mathbf{k})$. Then, Enriquez and Furusho showed for $N=1$ that a subscheme $\mathsf{DMR}^{\iota}_{\times}$ of $\mathsf{DMR}^{\iota}$ is a torsor of isomorphisms relating de Rham and Betti objects. In previous work, we reformulated Racinet's construction in terms of crossed products and identified his coproduct with a coproduct $\widehat{\Delta}^{\mathcal{M}, \mathrm{DR}}_G$ defined on a module $\widehat{\mathcal{M}}_G^{\mathrm{DR}}$ over an algebra $\widehat{\mathcal{W}}_G^{\mathrm{DR}}$ equipped with its own coproduct $\widehat{\Delta}^{\mathcal{W}, \mathrm{DR}}_G$. In this paper, we provide a generalization of Enriquez and Furusho's result to any $N \geq 1$: we exhibit a module $\widehat{\mathcal{M}}_N^{\mathrm{B}}$ over an algebra $\widehat{\mathcal{W}}_N^{\mathrm{B}}$ and show the existence of compatible coproducts $\widehat{\Delta}^{\mathcal{W}, \mathrm{B}}_N$ and $\widehat{\Delta}^{\mathcal{M}, \mathrm{B}}_N$ such that $\mathsf{DMR}^{\iota}_{\times}$ is contained in the torsor of isomorphisms relating $\widehat{\Delta}^{\mathcal{W}, \mathrm{B}}_N$ (resp. $\widehat{\Delta}^{\mathcal{M}, \mathrm{B}}_N$) to $\widehat{\Delta}^{\mathcal{W}, \mathrm{DR}}_G$ (resp. $\widehat{\Delta}^{\mathcal{M}, \mathrm{DR}}_G$).

Motivic nearby cycles functors, local monodromy and universal local acyclicity

Abstract:In this thesis we give two applications of Ayoub's motivic nearby cycles functor: First we give a generalization of Grothendieck's classical local monodromy theorem. In the classical setup we show that the inertia group acts quasi-unipotently on the étale cohomology of sheaves 'coming from motives'. Second we study the notion of universal local acyclicity for motives and show that for étale motives universal local acyclicity over an excellent 1- dimensional regular base scheme is detected by the motivic nearby cycles functor. Along the way we prove properties of the motivic nearby cycles functor which might be of independent interest. In particular we show that with rational coefficients the unipotent motivic nearby cycles functor is a direct summand of the total motivic nearby cycles functor.

A combinatorial approach to categorical Möbius inversion and pseudoinversion

Abstract:We use Cramer's formula for the inverse of a matrix and a combinatorial expression for the determinant in terms of paths of an associated digraph (which can be traced back to Coates) to give a combinatorial interpretation of Möbius inversion whenever it exists. Every Möbius coefficient is a quotient of two sums, each indexed by certain collections of paths in the digraph. Our result contains, as particular cases, previous theorems by Hall (for posets) and Leinster (for skeletal categories whose idempotents are identities). A byproduct is a novel expression for the magnitude of a metric space as sum over self-avoiding paths with finitely many terms. By means of Berg's formula, our main constructions can be extended to Moore-Penrose pseudoinverses, yielding an analogous combinatorial interpretation of Möbius pseudoinversion and, consequently, of the magnitude of an arbitrary finite category.

Eisenstein cocycles in motivic cohomology

Abstract:Several authors have studied homomorphisms from first homology groups of modular curves to the second K-group of a cyclotomic ring or a modular curve X. These maps send Manin symbols in the homology groups to Steinberg symbols of cyclotomic or Siegel units. We give a new construction of these maps and a direct proof of their Hecke equivariance, analogous to the construction of Siegel units using the universal elliptic curve. Our main tool is a 1-cocycle from GL_2(Z) to the second K-group of the function field of a suitable group scheme over X, from which the maps of interest arise by specialization.

On the motive of quotients of induced actions

Abstract:We explore computational tools that allow to compute the class on the Grothendieck ring of varieties of finite cyclic quotients in some interesting examples. As an main application, we determine the motive of low rank character varieties associated with torus knots and general linear groups using an equivariant analogue of the strategy for special linear groups due to A.González-Prieto and V.Muñoz.

Associativity and Commutativity of Partially Ordered Rings

Abstract:Consider a commutative monoid $(M,+,0)$ and a biadditive binary operation $\mu \colon M \times M \to M$. We will show that under some additional general assumptions, the operation $\mu$ is automatically both associative and commutative. The main additional assumption is localizability of $\mu$, which essentially means that a certain canonical order on $M$ is compatible with adjoining some multiplicative inverses of elements of $M$. As an application we show that a division ring $\mathbb F$ is commutative provided that for all $a \in \mathbb F$ there exists a natural number $k$ such that $a-k$ is not a sum of products of squares. This generalizes the classical theorem that every archimedean ordered division ring is commutative to a more general class of formally real division rings that do not necessarily allow for an archimedean (total) order. Similar results about automatic associativity and commutativity are well-known for special types of partially ordered extended rings (``extended'' in the sense that neither associativity nor commutativity of the multiplication is required by definition), namely in the uniformly bounded and the lattice-ordered cases, i.e.~for (extended) $f$-rings. In these cases the commutative monoid in question is the positive cone of the partially ordered extended ring. We also discuss how these classical results can be obtained from our main theorem.

Abstract:We construct a family of Drinfeld associators interpolating between the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov associator, the Alekseev-Torossian associator and the anti-Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov associator. We give explicit integral formulæ for the family of elements of the Grothendieck-Teichmüller Lie algebra tangent to the family of associators. As an application, we settle a conjecture of Pavel Etingof about the Alekseev-Torossian associator. Furthermore, we give explicit integral formulæ for the family of stable formality morphisms corresponding (in a precise way) to the above family of associators, and for the family of graph cohomology classes corresponding to the above family of elements of the Grothendieck-Teichmüller Lie algebra. It follows in particular that the ``logarithmic'' Kontsevich formality morphism corresponds to the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov associator.

A new approach to formal moduli problems

Abstract:The main goal of this paper is to introduce a framework for infinitesimal deformation problems, using new methods coming from operadic calculus. We construct an adjunction between infinitesimal deformation problems over some type of algebras and their Koszul dual algebras, in any characteristic. This adjunction is an equivalence if and only if some algebras are equivalent to their completions. We give a concrete homological criterion for it. It gives us a new proof of the celebrated Lurie--Pridham theorem, as well as of many other generalizations of it. Our methods are effective, meaning they directly produce point-set models for the algebras that encode infinitesimal deformation problems.

Abstract:Let A, B be two rings and T = ( A(0)M(B)) with M an A-B-bimodule. Suppose that we are given two complete hereditary cotorsion pairs (A(A),B-A) and (C-B,D-B) in A-Mod and B-Mod, respectively. We define two cotorsion pairs (Phi(A(A),C-B), Rep(B-A,D-B)) and (Rep(A(A),C-B), Psi (B-A,D-B)) in T-Mod and show that both of these cotorsion pairs are complete and hereditary. If we are given two cofibrantly generated model structuresMA andMB on A-Mod and B-Mod, respectively, then using the result above, we investigate when there exists a cofibrantly generated model structure MT on T-Mod and a recollement of Ho(M-T) relative to Ho(M-A) and Ho(M-B). Finally, some applications are given in Gorenstein homological algebra.
