Abstract:We define a new cyclic module, dual to the Connes-Moscovici cyclic module, for Hopf algebras, and give a characteristric map for the coaction of Hopf algebras. We also compute the resulting cyclic homology for cocommutative Hopf algebras, and some quantum groups.

Abstract:Let H be a Hopf algebra over a base field. If H has an ℕ-filtration such that the associated graded ring is connected graded noetherian and has enough normal elements, then H is Gorenstein. This gives a partial solution to a question of Brown and Brown-Goodearl. As a consequence, every quotient Hopf algebra of a generic quantized coordinate ring of a connected semisimple Lie group is Auslander-Gorenstein and Cohen-Macaulay. The last statement answers a question of Goodearl-Zhang.
A model structure and Hopf-cyclic theory on the category of coequivariant modules over a comodule algebra

Abstract:Let H be a coFrobenius Hopf algebra over a field k. Let A be a right H-comodule algebra over k. We recall that the category of right H-comodules admits a certain model structure whose homotopy category is equivalent to the stable category of right H-comodules given in Farina's paper. In the first part of this paper, we show that the category of left A-module objects in the category of right H-comodules admits a model structure, which becomes a model subcategory of the category of H*-equivariant A-modules endowed with a model structure given in the author's previous paper if H is finite dimensional with a certain assumption. Note that this category is not a Frobenius category in general. We also construct a functorial cofibrant replacement by proceeding the similar argument as in Qi's paper. In the latter half of this paper, we see that cyclic H-comodules which give Hopf-cyclic (co)homology with coefficients in Hopf H-modules are contructible in the homotopy category of right H-comodules, and we investigate a Hopf-cyclic (co)homology in slightly modified setting by assuming A a right H-comodule k-Hopf algebra with H-colinear bijective antipode in stable category of right H-comodules and give an analogue of the characteristic map. We remark that, as an expansion of an idea of taking trivial comodule k as the coefficients, if we take an A-coinvariant part of M assuming M a Hopf A-module in the category of right H-comodules, we have the degree shift of cyclic modules.

Measurings of Hopf algebroids and morphisms in cyclic (co)homology theories

Abstract:In this paper, we consider measurings between Hopf algebroids and show that they induce morphisms on cyclic homology and cyclic cohomology. We also consider comodule measurings between SAYD modules over Hopf algebroids. These give an enrichment of the global category of SAYD modules over comodules. These measurings also induce morphisms on cyclic (co)homology of Hopf algebroids with SAYD coefficients, which are compatible with Hopf-Galois maps. Finally, we consider non-$\Sigma$ operads with multiplication. We obtain an enrichment of cyclic unital comp modules over non-$\Sigma$ operads, as well as morphisms on cyclic homology induced by measurings of comp modules over operads with multiplication.

Abstract:This is the first one in a series of two papers on the continuation of our study in cup products in Hopf cyclic cohomology. In this note we construct cyclic cocycles of algebras out of Hopf cyclic cocycles of algebras and coalgebras. In the next paper we consider producing Hopf cyclic cocycle from "equivariant" Hopf cyclic cocycles. Our approach in both situations is based on (co)cyclic modules and bi(co)cyclic modules together with Eilenberg-Zilber theorem which is different from the old definition of cup products defined via traces and cotraces on DG algebras and coalgebras.
Cocyclic Complexes of Hopf Algebras with Special Antipodes

Abstract:We show that for any bimodule M and bicomodule C of a Hopf algebra H with involutive antipode, Hochschild complex C*(H,M) and C*(C,H) are cocyclic K-modules. Their para-cocyclic operators are compatible in Gerstenhaber-Schack bicomplex of a Hopf algebra morphism phi:A -> B, which is a combination of Hochschild complex C*(A,B-circle times q) and coHochschild complex C*(A(circle times p),B) for any p,q >= 0, and make the bicomplex into a cylindrical K-module under appropriate conditions. From this bicomplex, we get a cocyclic structure of the diagonal complex. With these cocyclic operators, the operadic structure of the diagonal complex is cyclic, so that the Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the diagonal cohomology evolves into a Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra. Hence we obtain the structure of Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomology of phi, which is isomorphic to the diagonal cohomology. Our results can be applied to group algebra KG and arbitrary G-graded Hopf algebra A. Let phi be epsilon(A) (resp. u(B), id(A)). Then we can get the Gerstenhaber structure on Hochschild cohomology C*(A,K) (resp. Adams Cobar construction of B, Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomology of A). Moreover, the Gerstenhaber structure operators of epsilon(A) and u(B) commute with composition.

Abstract:We introduce a Hopf algebroid associated to a proper Lie group action on a smooth manifold. We prove that the cyclic cohomology of this Hopf algebroid is equal to the de Rham cohomology of invariant differential forms. When the action is cocompact, we develop a generalized Hodge theory for the de Rham cohomology of invariant differential forms. We prove that every cyclic cohomology class of the Hopf algebroid is represented by a generalized harmonic form. This implies that the space of cyclic cohomology of the Hopf algebroid is finite dimensional. As an application of the techniques developed in this paper, we discuss properties of the Euler characteristic for a proper cocompact action.

Abstract:We study the Moore complex of a simplicial cocommutative Hopf algebra through Hopf kernels. The most striking result to emerge from this construction is the coherent definition of 2-crossed modules of cocommutative Hopf algebras. This unifies the 2-crossed module theory of groups and of Lie algebras when we take the group-like and primitive functors into consideration.

Abstract:We use Hopf algebroids to formulate a notion of a noncommutative and non-cocommutative Hopf 2-algebra. We show how these arise from a bicrossproduct Hopf algebra with Peiffer identities. In particular, we show that for a Hopf algebra $H$ with bijective antipode, the mirror bicrossproduct Hopf algebra $H\triangleright\!\!\!\blacktriangleleft H_{cop}$ is a Hopf 2-algebra. We apply the theorem on Sweedler's Hopf algebra as an example.

Abstract:Let X be a manifold on which a discrete (pseudo)group of diffeomorphisms Γ acts, and let E be a Γ-equivariant vector bundle on X. We give a construction of cyclic cocycles on the cross product algebra C0∞(X)⋊Γ representing the equivariant characteristic classes of E. Our formulas can be viewed as a higher-dimensional analogue of Connes’ Godbillon–Vey cyclic cocycle. An essential tool for our construction, which allows us to overcome difficulties arising in the higher-dimensional case, is Connes–Moscovici's theory of cyclic cohomology of Hopf algebras.

Abstract:For an algebra B with an action of a Hopf algebra H we establish the pairing between even equivariant cyclic cohomology and equivariant K-theory for B. We then extend this formalism to compact quantum group actions and show that equivariant cyclic cohomology is a target space for the equivariant Chern character of equivariant summable Fredholm modules. We prove an analogue of Julg's theorem relating equivariant K-theory to ordinary K-theory of the C*-algebra crossed product, and characterize equivariant vector bundles on quantum homogeneous spaces.

A study of nil Hecke algebras via Hopf algebroids

Abstract:Hopf algebroids are generalizations of Hopf algebras to less commutative settings. We show how the comultiplication defined by Kostant and Kumar turns the affine nil Hecke algebra associated to a Coxeter system into a Hopf algebroid without an antipode. The proof relies on mixed dihedral braid relations between Demazure operators and simple reflections. For researchers new to Hopf algebroids we include additional examples from ring theory, representation theory, and algebraic geometry.

Abstract:We develop the categorical algebra of the noncommutative base change of a comodule category by means of a Grothendieck category S . We describe when the resulting category of comodules is locally finitely generated, locally noetherian or may be recovered as a coreflective subcategory of the noncommutative base change of a module category. We also introduce the category SHA of relative (A,H) -Hopf modules in S , where H is a Hopf algebra and A is a right H -comodule algebra. We study the cohomological theory in SHA by means of spectral sequences. Using coinduction functors and functors of coinvariants, we study torsion theories and how they relate to injective resolutions in SHA . Finally, we use the theory of associated primes and support in noncommutative base change of module categories to give direct sum decompositions of minimal injective resolutions in SHA .

Abstract:We construct Fredholm modules over an algebra taking values in generalized Hilbert spaces over a rigid $C^*$-tensor category. Using methods of Connes, we obtain Chern characters taking values in cyclic cohomology. These Chern characters are well behaved with respect to the periodicity operator, and depend only on the homotopy class of the Fredholm module.

Abstract:We present a rich source of Hopf algebras starting from a cofinite central extension of a Noetherian Hopf algebra and a subgroup of the algebraic group of characters of the central Hopf subalgebra. The construction is transparent from a Tannakian perspective. We determine when the new Hopf algebras are co-Frobenius, or cosemisimple, or Noetherian, or regular, or have finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension.

Abstract:Let H be a cocommutative Hopf algebra acting on an algebra A. Assuming the base field to be algebraically closed and the H-action on A to be integral, that is, it is given by a coaction of some Hopf subalgebra of the finite dual H∘ that is an integral domain, we stratify the prime spectrum Spec A in terms of the prime spectra of certain commutative algebras. For arbitrary H-actions in characteristic 0, we show that the largest H-stable ideal of A that is contained in a given semiprime ideal of A is semiprime as well.

Commutators and crossed modules of color Hopf algebras

Abstract:In a previous paper we showed that the category of cocommutative color Hopf algebras is semi-abelian in case the group $G$ is abelian and finitely generated and the characteristic of the base field is different from 2 (not needed if $G$ is finite of odd cardinality). Here we describe the commutator of cocommutative color Hopf algebras and we explain the Hall's criterion for nilpotence and the Zassenhaus Lemma. Furthermore, we introduce the category of color Hopf crossed modules and we explicitly show that this is equivalent to the category of internal crossed modules in the category of cocommutative color Hopf algebras and to the category of simplicial cocommutative color Hopf algebras with Moore complex of length 1.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the notion of generalized invertible 1-cocycle in a strict braided monoidal category C, and we prove that the category of Hopf trusses is equivalent to the category of generalized invertible 1-cocycles. On the other hand, we also introduce the notions of module for a Hopf truss and for a generalized invertible 1-cocycle. We prove some functorial results involving these categories of modules and we show that the category of modules associated to a generalized invertible 1-cocycle is equivalent to a category of modules associated to a suitable Hopf truss. Finally, assuming that in C we have equalizers, we introduce the notion of Hopf-module in the Hopf truss setting and we obtain the Fundamental Theorem of Hopf modules associated to a Hopf truss.

Abstract:We show that for a braided Hopf algebra in the category of comodules over a cosemisimple coquasitriangular Hopf algebra, the Hochschild cohomological dimension, the left and right global dimensions and the projective dimensions of the trivial left and right module all coincide. We also provide convenient criteria for smoothness and the twisted Calabi-Yau property for such braided Hopf algebras (without the cosemisimplicity assumption on $H$), in terms of properties of the trivial <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://module.These" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> generalize a well-known result in the case of ordinary Hopf algebras. As an illustration, we study the case of the coordinate algebra on the two-parameter braided quantum group $\textrm{SL}_{2}$.

Abstract:We prove that there exist Hopf algebras with surjective, non-bijective antipode which admit no non-trivial morphisms from Hopf algebras with bijective antipode; in particular, they are not quotients of such. This answers a question left open in prior work, and contrasts with the dual setup whereby a Hopf algebra has injective antipode precisely when it embeds into one with bijective antipode. The examples rely on the broader phenomenon of realizing pre-specified subspace lattices as comodule lattices: for a finite-dimensional vector space $V$ and a sequence $(\mathcal{L}_r)_r$ of successively finer lattices of subspaces thereof, assuming the minimal subquotients of the supremum $\bigvee_r \mathcal{L}_r$ are all at least 2-dimensional, there is a Hopf algebra equipping $V$ with a comodule structure in such a fashion that the lattice of comodules of the $r^{th}$ dual comodule $V^{r*}$ is precisely the given $\mathcal{L}_r$.
