Abstract:Objective:To revise the Domain-Specific Risk-taking Scale into Chinese college students version and examine its reliability and validity in Chinese college students. Methods:Translation, back-translation and group focus were used to work out the original Chinese college students version of the Domain-Specific Risk-taking Scale. 386 and 271 Chinese college students were assessed to select items preliminarily, and 318 were assessed to select items further and to perform the exploratory factor analysis to work out the formal Chinese college version, and to examine the reliability and validity. Then 332 Chinese college students were assessed to perform the confirmatory factor analysis. The retest reliability was tested in 80 subjects 1 month later. Results:Exploratory factor analysis revealed that the Chinese college students version was consisted of 7 factors, explaining 59. 969％ of the total variance, which was different from its 5-factor original version. While the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the 7-factor Chinese college students version was better than 5-factor version in model fitting(X2 =972. 997, df=384, X2/df=2. 53, CFI=0. 809, GFI = 0. 838, AGFI =0. 804, RMSEA =0. 068, IFI =0. 812). Therefore, the Chinese college students version of Domain-Specific Risk-taking Scale was finally decided to consist of 30 item and 7 factors, belonging to5 domains:Social, recreational, economic ( investing and gambling), ethics, health/safety ( health and safety). The Cronbach's a, split-half reliability and retest reliability of the Chinese college students version were 0. 685～0. 822, 0. 521 ～0. 695, 0. 597 ～0. 952 respectively, all of which had statistical significance. Conclusion:The Chinese college students version of Domain-Specific Risk-taking Scale has a good reliability and validity and can be used to evaluate the risk-taking in Chinese college students.
