Abstract:Consider a nonexpansive self-mapping T of a bounded closed convex subset of a Banach space. Banach's contraction principle guarantees the existence of approximating fixed point sequences for T. However such sequences may not be strongly convergent, in general, even in a Hilbert space. It is shown in this paper that in a real smooth and uniformly convex Banach space, appropriately constructed approximating fixed point sequences can be strongly convergent.

Abstract:Let X be a uniformly convex Banach space, and S, T be pair of mean nonexpansive mappings.Some necessary and sufficient conditions are given for Ishikawa iterative sequence converge to common fixed points, and we prove that the sequence of Ishikawa iterations associated with S and T converges to the common fixed point of S and T .This generalizes former results proved by Z. Gu and Y. Li [4].

Abstract:By virtue of new analytic techniques, we analyze and study several strong convergence theorems for the approximation of common fixed points of asymptotically demicontractive mappings via the multistep iterative sequence with errors in Banach spaces. Our results improve and extend the corresponding ones announced by Osilike , Osilike and Aniagbosor, Igbokwe, Cho et al., Moore and Nnoli, Hu and all the others.

Abstract:Let E be a real uniformly convex Banach space and C a nonempty closed convex subset of E which is also a nonexpansive retract of E.Let S,T:C→E be two nonexpansive mappings.It is shown that under some suitable conditions, the sequence {x_n} defined by(1.1) converges weakly and strongly to some common fixed point of S,T,respectively.The results presented in this paper also extend and improve some recent results.

Abstract:Let C be a closed convex subset of a uniformly smooth Banach space E, and T:C→E a nonexpansive nonself-mapping satisfying the weakly inwardness condition such that F(T)≠∅, and f:C→C a fixed contractive mapping. For t∈(0,1), the implicit iterative sequence {xt} is defined by xt=P(tf(xt)+(1−t)Txt), the explicit iterative sequence {xn} is given by xn+1=P(αnf(xn)+(1−αn)Txn), where αn∈(0,1) and P is a sunny nonexpansive retraction of E onto C. We prove that {xt} strongly converges to a fixed point of T as t→0, and {xn} strongly converges to a fixed point of T as αn satisfying appropriate conditions. The results presented extend and improve the corresponding results of Hong-Kun Xu (2004) and Yisheng Song and Rudong Chen (2006).

Abstract:The purpose of this article is to prove strong convergence theorems for common fixed points of two closed hemi-relatively nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces. In order to get the strong convergence theorems, the monotone hybrid algorithms are presented and are used to approximate the common fixed points. Finally, a new simplified hybrid algorithm has been proposed and relative convergence theorem has been proved by using the new method for proofs. The results of this article modify and improve the results of Matsushita, Takahashi [S. Matsushita, W. Abstract:We introduce a concept of weak Bregman relatively nonexpansive mapping which is distinct from Bregman relatively nonexpansive mapping. By using projection techniques, we construct several modification of Mann type iterative algorithms with errors and Halpern-type iterative algorithms with errors to find fixed points of weak Bregman relatively nonexpansive mappings and Bregman relatively nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces. The strong convergence theorems for weak Bregman relatively nonexpansive mappings and Bregman relatively nonexpansive mappings are derived under some suitable assumptions. The main results in this paper develop, extend, and improve the corresponding results of Matsushita and Takahashi (2005) and Qin and Su (2007). Copyright 2011 Jiawei Chen et al.

Abstract:In this article, we propose and investigate several iterative methods for approximating fixed points of a firmly nonexpansive-type mapping and for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of the firmly nonexpansive-type mapping and the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem in Banach space. By using the conception of generalized projection, strong convergence theorems for firmly nonexpansive-type mappings and equilibrium problems in Banach space are established under suitable assumptions, which extend and modify some known results in the literature.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce new random iterative sequences with errors approximating a unique random common fixed point for three random set-valued strongly pseudo-contractive mappings and show the convergence of the random iterative sequences with errors by using an approximation method in real uniformly smooth separable Banach spaces. As applications, we study the existence of random solutions for some kind of random nonlinear operator equations group in separable Hilbert spaces.

Abstract:We study some convergence of two kinds of implicit iteration processes for approximating common fixed points of a pseudo-contractive semigroup in uniformly convex Banach spaces with uniformly Gateaux differential norms. As special cases, we get some convergence of the implicit iteration processes for approximating common fixed points of a nonexpansive semigroup in uniformly smooth Banach spaces and give a positive answer to an open problem proposed by Xu in Bull. Austral. Math. Soc. (2005). The results presented in this paper generalise some corresponding results from Osilike in Panamer. Math. J. (2004), Suzuki in Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. (2002) and Xu in Bull. Austral. Math. Soc. (2005).
