Abstract:A problem of finding a common fixed point of finite operators was considered in a uniformly smooth Banach space,and the author gave a new interative sequence and proved that this sequence was strongly converged to this common fixed point of finite operators.

Abstract:The phenomenon of "numerical extraneous roots" of Euler's iteration has been found. By systematic searching, some polynomials and the corresponding initial values are given, which make the fixed points of Euler's iteration not the roots of the polynomials. For those repelling extraneous fixed points, the adjoint dynamical types of Sullivan's basins are also studied. Finally, the fractal pictures are produced.

By using an exclusive fixed point of the Euler iteration, the convergence ball is determined accurately for a class of operators whose derivatives satisfy some generalized Lipschitz condition on Banach spaces.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence and uniqueness of positive fixed points for nonlinear decreasing operators with sublinear perturbation operators in ordered Banach spaces. A new fixed-point theorem, without the assumption of compactness and continuity of operators, is established, and an iterative sequence yielding the fixed point is also given. In addition, an application to nonlinear integral equations is shown.

Abstract:We use the method of monotone iterations to obtain fixed point and coupled fixed point results for mixed monotone operators in the setting of partially ordered sets, with no additional assumptions on the partial order and with no convergence structure. We define the concept of attractive fixed point with respect to the partial order and obtain several criteria for the existence, uniqueness and order-attractiveness of the fixed points, both in the presence and in the absence of a coupled lower-upper fixed point. As an application, we present a fixed point result for a class of mixed monotone operators in the setting of ordered linear spaces.

Abstract:In the present paper, we study the finite termination of sequences generated by inexact proximal point algorithms for finding zeroes of a maximal monotone (set-valued) operator T on a Hilbert space. Under some mild conditions, we get that a sequence generated by inexact proximal point algorithm stops after a finite number of iterations. Our results extend the corresponding results in Rockafellar (SIAM J Control Optim 14:877–898, 1976 ). In particular, for optimization problems, our results improve corresponding results in Ferris (Math Progr 50:359–366, 1991 ). As applications, we obtain finite termination of projected gradient method.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose an inertial iterative method for solving a common solution to the fixed point and mixed equilibrium problem in Hilbert spaces. We prove the sequence generated by the proposed algorithm strongly converges to an element in the solution set of mixed equilibrium problems of a pair of bi-function, which is also the solution to a fixed point of demicontractive mapping. Finally, we give some numerical experiments to support our main result. Our result extends and generalizes some earlier announced results in the literature.

Abstract:Using the result of the error estimate of the simple extended Newton method established in the present paper for solving abstract inequality systems, we study the error bound property of approximate solutions of abstract inequality systems on Banach spaces with the involved function F being Fréchet differentiable and its derivative F^' satisfying the center-Lipschitz condition (not necessarily the Lipschitz condition) around a point x 0 . Under some mild conditions, we establish results on the existence of the solutions, and the error bound properties for approximate solutions of abstract inequality systems. Applications of these results to finite/infinite systems of inequalities/equalities on Banach spaces are presented and the error bound properties of approximate solutions of finite/infinite systems of inequalities/equalities are also established. Our results extend the corresponding results in [ 3 , 18 , 19 ].

Some recent results due to Lewicki and others are extended and improved.

Abstract:We consider a Cauchy problem for differential equations in a Hilbert space X. The problem is stated in a time interval I, which can be finite or infinite. We use a fixed point argument for history-dependent operators to prove the unique solvability of the problem. Then, we establish convergence criteria for both a general fixed point problem and the corresponding Cauchy problem. These criteria provide the necessary and sufficient conditions on a sequence {un}, which guarantee its convergence to the solution of the corresponding problem, in the space of both continuous and continuously differentiable functions. We then specify our results in the study of a particular differential equation governed by two nonlinear operators. Finally, we provide an application in viscoelasticity and give a mechanical interpretation of the corresponding convergence result.
