Abstract:We give a computability result for open Gromov-Witten invariants based on open WDVV equations. This is analogous to the result of Kontsevich-Manin for closed Gromov-Witten invariants. For greater generality, we base the argument on a formal object, the Frobenius superpotential, that generalizes several different definitions of open Gromov-Witten invariants. As an application, we prove vanishing properties for open Gromov-Witten invariants on products of projective spaces.

Abstract:This paper classifies separated bounding pairs for Lagrangian submanifolds that are homologically trivial inside the ambient space, under the assumption that restriction on cohomology from the ambient space to the Lagrangian is surjective. As an application, open Gromov-Witten invariants are defined under the above assumptions. When the Lagrangian is the fixed locus of an anti-symplectic involution, the surjectivity assumption can be somewhat relaxed while the classifying space needs to be modified.

Abstract:Given a closed symplectic manifold X , we construct Gromov-Witten-type invariants valued both in (complex) K -theory and in any complex-oriented cohomology theory which is K p ( n )-local for some Morava K -theory K p ( n ). We show that these invariants satisfy a version of the Kontsevich-Manin axioms, extending Givental and Lee's work for the quantum K -theory of complex projective algebraic varieties. In particular, we prove a Gromov-Witten type splitting axiom, and hence define quantum K -theory and quantum -theory as commutative deformations of the corresponding (generalised) cohomology rings of X ; the definition of the quantum product involves the formal group of the underlying cohomology theory. The key geometric input of these results is a construction of global Kuranishi charts for moduli spaces of stable maps of arbitrary genus to X . On the algebraic side, in order to establish a common framework covering both ordinary K -theory and K p ( n )-local theories, we introduce a formalism of 'counting theories' for enumerative invariants on a category of global Kuranishi charts.

Abstract:The open Gromov--Witten (OGW) potential is a function from the set of weak bounding cochains on a closed Lagrangian in a closed symplectic manifold to the Novikov ring. Existing definitions of the OGW potential assume that the ground field of the Novikov ring is either $\mathbb{R}$ or $\mathbb{C}$. In this paper, we give an alternate definition of the OGW potential in the pearly model for Lagrangian Floer theory which yields an invariant valued in the Novikov ring over any field of characteristic zero. We work under simplifying regularity hypotheses which are satisfied, for instance, by any monotone Lagrangian. Our OGW potential is defined in terms of an appropriate weakening of a strictly cyclic pairing on a curved $A_{\infty}$-algebra, which can be thought of as a version of a proper Calabi--Yau structure. Such a structure is obtained by constructing a version of the cyclic open-closed map on the pearly Lagrangian Floer cochain complex. We also explain an analogue of our construction in de Rham cohomology, and show that it recovers the OGW potential constructed by Solomon and Tukachinsky.

Geometric Properties of Real Gromov-Witten Invariants

Abstract:We collect geometric properties of the all-genus real Gromov-Witten theory and provide updates on its development since its introduction in 2015. We bring attention to a modification of the original construction of this theory which is applicable in a broader setting, obtain properties of the orientations of the moduli spaces of real maps under this modification which had previously been obtained for the original construction, and compare such orientations obtained via the two constructions when both constructions are applicable. In particular, the orientation of the moduli space of real maps from a disjoint union of domains may not be the product orientation of the moduli spaces of real maps from its components, a possibility overlooked in our past work.

Super Gromov-Witten Invariants via torus localization

Abstract:In this article we propose a definition of super Gromov-Witten invariants by postulating a torus localization property for the odd directions of the moduli spaces of super stable maps and super stable curves of genus zero. That is, we define super Gromov-Witten invariants as the integral over the pullback of homology classes along the evaluation maps divided by the equivariant Euler class of the normal bundle of the embedding of the moduli space of stable spin maps into the moduli space of super stable maps. This definition sidesteps the difficulties of defining a supergeometric intersection theory and works with classical intersection theory only. The properties of the normal bundles, known from the differential geometric construction of the moduli space of super stable maps, imply that super Gromov-Witten invariants satisfy a generalization of Kontsevich-Manin axioms and allow for the construction of a super small quantum cohomology ring. We describe a method to calculate super Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathbb{P}^n$ of genus zero by a further geometric torus localization and give explicit numbers in degree one when dimension and number of marked points are small.

Abstract:We study a family of moduli spaces and corresponding quantum invariants introduced recently by Fan-Jarvis-Ruan. The family has a wall-and-chamber structure relative to a positive rational parameter is an element of. For a Fermat quasi-homogeneous polynomial W (not necessarily of Calabi-Yau type), we study natural generating functions packaging the invariants. Our wall-crossing formula relates the generating functions by showing that they all lie on the Lagrangian cone associated to the Fan-Jarvis-Ruan-Witten theory of W. For arbitrarily small parameter is an element of, a specialization of our generating function is a hypergeometric series called the big I-function which determines the entire Lagrangian cone. As a special case of our wall-crossing, we obtain a new geometric interpretation of the Landau-Ginzburg mirror theorem.

Abstract:In <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2404.19088" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2404.19088">arXiv:2404.19088</a>, we initiated a program linking birational invariants with smooth ones and offering new interpretations of classical invariants, such as the Kervaire-Milnor invariants. Here, we rely on the profound geometric reasoning provided by Lupercio and Uribe in the early 00s to establish a connection between Chen-Ruan cohomology and several $G$-birational invariants introduced in the pioneering works Kontsevich, Kresch, Pestun, Tschinkel, along with presenting applications. Combined with the theory of atoms by Katzarkov, Kontsevich, Pantev, and Yu, the proposal in this paper program will lead to a theory of equivariant atoms.

Abstract:In this paper we compute genus 0 orbifold Gromov--Witten invariants of Calabi--Yau threefold complete intersections in weighted projective stacks, regardless of convexity conditions. The traditional quantumn Lefschetz principle may fail even for invariants with ambient insertions. Using quasimap wall-crossing, we are able to compute invariants with insertions from a specific subring of the Chen--Ruan cohomology, which contains all the ambient cohomology classes. Quasimap wall-crossing gives a mirror theorem expressing the I-function in terms of the J-function via a mirror map. The key of this paper is to find a suitable GIT presentation of the target space, so that the mirror map is invertible. An explicit formula for the I-function is given for all those target spaces and many examples with explicit computations of invariants are provided.

Abstract:We prove the integrality and finiteness of open BPS invariants of toric Calabi–Yau 3-folds relative to Aganagic–Vafa outer branes, defined from open Gromov–Witten invariants by the Labastida–Mariño–Ooguri–Vafa formula. Specializing to disk invariants, we extend the open/closed correspondence of Gromov–Witten invariants to BPS invariants and prove the integrality of a class of genus-zero BPS invariants of toric Calabi–Yau 4-folds, thereby providing additional examples for the conjecture of Klemm–Pandharipande.

We apply this method to constructing the virtual moduli cycle of the moduli of stable maps from n-pointed genus g curves to any smooth projective variety. Abstract:Bielliptic surfaces appear as quotient of a product of two elliptic curves and were classified by Bagnera-Franchis. We give a concrete way of computing their GW-invariants with point insertions using a floor diagram algorithm. Using the latter, we are able to prove the quasi-modularity of their generating series by relating them to generating series of graphs for which we also prove quasi-modularity results. We propose a refinement of these invariants by inserting a {\lambda}-class in the considered GW-invariants.

Abstract:This paper introduces a concrete relation between genus zero closed Gromov-Witten invariants of Calabi-Yau threefolds and genus zero open Gromov-Witten invariants of a Lagrangian $A$-brane in the same threefold. Symplectic cutting is a natural operation that decomposes a symplectic manifold $(X,\omega)$ with a Hamiltonian $U(1)$ action into two pieces glued along the invariant divisor. In this paper we study a quantum uplift of the cut construction defined in terms of equivariant gauged linear sigma models. The nexus between closed and open Gromov-Witten invariants is a quantum Lebesgue measure associated to a choice of cut, that we introduce and study. Integration of this measure recovers the equivariant quantum volume of the whole CY3, thereby encoding closed GW invariants. Conversely, the monodromies of the quantum measure around cycles in Kähler moduli space encode open GW invariants of a Lagrangian $A$-brane associated to the cut. Both in the closed and the open string sector we find a remarkable interplay between worldsheet instantons and semiclassical volumes regularized by equivariance. This leads to equivariant generating functions of GW invariants that extend smoothly across the entire moduli space, and which provide a unifying description of standard GW potentials. The latter are recovered in the non-equivariant limit in each of the different phases of the geometry.
