Abstract:Taking the generalized time-dependent harmonic oscillator (GTHO) and singular time-dependent harmonic oscillator (STHO) as illustrative examples, we discuss the connection between the quantum basic invariants and classical Noether's theorem and, for the system, find: (1) The classical basic invariants and general form of classical invariants. (2) The current algebra and corresponding operator algebra. (3) A kind of converse of the Noether's theorem. (4) The connection between the so-called symmetry algebra ({G(k)} algebra) and the classical current algebra through the operator algebra.

Abstract:We construct a global B-model for any quasi-homogeneous polynomial f that has properties similar to the properties of the physic's B-model on a Calabi-Yau manifold. The main ingredients in our construction are K. Saito's theory of primitive forms and Givental's higher genus reconstruction. More precisely, we consider the moduli space M-mar degrees of the so-called marginal deformations of f . For each point sigma is an element of M-mam degrees mar we introduce the notion of an opposite subspace in the twisted de Rham cohomology of the corresponding singularity f(sigma) and prove that opposite subspaces are in one-to-one correspondence with the splittings of the Hodge structure in the vanishing cohomology of f(sigma). Therefore, according to M. Saito, an opposite subspace gives rise to a semi-simple Frobenius structure on the space of miniversal deformations of f(sigma). Using Givental's higher genus reconstruction we define a total ancestor potential A(sigma) ((h) over bar, q) whose properties can be described quite elegantly in terms of the properties of the corresponding opposite subspace. For example, if the opposite subspace corresponds to the splitting of the Hodge structure given by complex conjugation, then the total ancestor potential is monodromy invariant and it satisfies the BCOV holomorphic anomaly equations. The coefficients of the total ancestor potential could be viewed as quasi-modular forms on M-Mar degrees in a certain generalized sense. As an application of our construction, we consider the case of a Fermat polynomial W that defines a Calabi-Yau hypersurface X-w in a weighted-projective space. We have constructed two opposite subspaces and proved that the corresponding total ancestor potentials can be identified with respectively the total ancestor potential of the orbifold quotient X-W/(G) over tilde (W) and the total ancestor potential of FJRW invariants corresponding to (W, G(W)). Here G(W) is the maximal group of diagonal symmetries of W and (G) over tilde (W) is a quotient of G(W) by the subgroup of those elements that act trivially on X-W. In particular, our result establishes the so-called Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for the pair (W, G(W)).

Abstract:We extend the quantum geometric tensor from the state space to the operator level,and investigate its properties like the additivity for factorizable models and the splitting of two kinds contributions for the case of stationary reference states. This operator-quantum-geometric tensor (OQGT) is shown to reflect the sensitivity of unitary operations against perturbations of multi parameters. General results for the cases of time evolutions with given stationary reference states are obtained. By this approach, we get exact results for the rotated XY models, and show relations between the OQGT and quantum criticality.

Abstract:We develop a $\mathtt{q}$-analogue of the theory of conjugation equivariant $\mathcal D$-modules on a complex reductive group $G$. In particular, we define quantum Hotta-Kashiwara modules and compute their endomorphism algebras. We use the Schur-Weyl functor of the second author, and develop tools from the corresponding double affine Hecke algebra to study this category in the cases $G=GL_N$ and $SL_N$. Our results also have an interpretation in skein theory (explored further in a sequel paper), namely a computation of the $GL_N$ and $SL_N$-skein algebra of the 2-torus.

Abstract:We give a generalization of Goncharov's Hodge correlator twistor connection. Our generalized version is a connection 1-form with values in a DG Lie algebra of uni-trivalent graphs which may have loops and satisfies some Maurer--Cartan equation. This connection and the Maurer--Cartan equation can be viewed as an arithmetic analogue of effective action and quantum master equation respectively in non-acyclic Chern--Simons perturbation theory associated with the trivial local system.

Abstract:We study a system of nonlinear elliptic PDEs associated with a quasi-homogeneous polynomial. These equations were proposed by Witten as the replacement in the Landau-Ginzburg/singularity setting for the Cauchy-Riemann equation. We introduce a perturbation to the equation and construct a virtual cycle for the moduli space of its solutions. Then, we study the wall-crossing of the deformation of the perturbation and match it to classical Picard-Lefschetz theory. An extended virtual cycle is obtained for the original equation. Finally we prove that the extended virtual cycle satisfies a set of axioms similar to those of Gromov-Witten theory and $r$-spin theory.

Abstract:For any non-degenerate, quasi-homogeneous hypersurface singularity, we describe a family of moduli spaces, a virtual cycle, and a corresponding cohomological field theory associated to the singularity. This theory is analogous to Gromov-Witten theory and generalizes the theory of r-spin curves, which corresponds to the simple singularity A_r-1. We also resolve two outstanding conjectures of Witten. The first conjecture is that ADE-singularities are self-dual; and the second conjecture is that the total potential functions of ADE-singularities satisfy corresponding ADE-integrable hierarchies. Other cases of integrable hierarchies are also discussed.

Abstract:The notion of a quantum tau-function for a natural quantization of the KdV hierarchy was introduced in a work of Dubrovin, Guéré, Rossi, and the second author. A certain natural choice of a quantum tau-function was then described by the first author, the coefficients of the logarithm of this series are called the quantum intersection numbers. Because of the Kontsevich-Witten theorem, a part of the quantum intersection numbers coincides with the classical intersection numbers of psi-classes on the moduli spaces of stable algebraic curves. In this paper, we relate the quantum intersection numbers to the stationary relative Gromov-Witten invariants of $(\mathbb{CP}^1,0,\infty)$ with an insertion of a Hodge class. Using the Okounkov-Pandharipande approach to such invariants (with the trivial Hodge class) through the infinite wedge formalism, we then give a short proof of an explicit formula for the ``purely quantum'' part of the quantum intersection numbers, found by the first author, which in particular relates these numbers to the one-part double Hurwitz numbers.

Abstract:We first study the quantum product on the big phase space defined by gravitational Gromov-Witten invariants. We then use this product to give an interpretation for various topological recursion relations and also use it to study the Virasoro conjecture proposed by Eguchi-Hori-Xiong and Katz. We will give a recursive formulation to the Virasoro conjecture and study properties of relevent vector fields, which will be useful in proving and applying the Virasoro conjecture for all genera. In the genus-2 case, we will prove that the genus-2 Virasoro conjecture can be reduced to the $L_{1}$ constraint for any manifold. In the case when the quantum cohomology of the underlying manifold is not too degenerate (in particular, is semisimple) we will prove an explicit formula expressing the generating function of genus-2 Gromov-Witten invariants in terms of genus-0 and genus-1 data. This result reduces the genus-2 Virasoro conjecture to a genus-1 problem for such manifolds.
Quantum master equation for many-body systems: Derivation based on the Lieb-Robinson bound

Abstract:The local Gorini-Kossakowski-Sudarshan-Lindblad (GKSL) quantum master equation is a powerful tool for the study of open quantum many-body systems. However, its microscopic derivation applicable to many-body systems is available only in limited cases of weak internal couplings, and it has yet to be fully understood under what microscopic conditions the local GKSL equation is valid. We derive the local GKSL equation on the basis of the Lieb-Robinson bound, which provides an upper bound of the propagation of information in quantum many-body systems. We numerically test the validity of the derived local GKSL equation for a one-dimensional tight-binding fermion chain.

Abstract:It was known through the efforts of many works that the generating functions in the closed Gromov–Witten theory of K_ℙ^2 are meromorphic quasi-modular forms (Coates and Iritani in Kyoto J Math 58(4):695–864, 2018 ; Lho and Pandharipande in Adv Math 332:349–402, 2018 ; Coates and Iritani in Gromov–Witten invariants of local ℙ^2 and modular forms, arXiv:1804.03292 [math.AG], 2018 ) basing on the B-model predictions (Bershadsky et al. in Commun Math Phys 165:311–428, 1994 ; Aganagic et al. in Commun Math Phys 277:771–819, 2008 ; Alim et al. in Adv Theor Math Phys 18(2):401–467, 2014 ). In this article, we extend the modularity phenomenon to K_ℙ^1×ℙ^1, K_Wℙ[1,1,2], K_𝔽_1 . More importantly, we generalize it to the generating functions in the open Gromov–Witten theory using the theory of Jacobi forms where the open Gromov–Witten parameters are transformed into elliptic variables.

Abstract:Given a closed symplectic manifold X , we construct Gromov-Witten-type invariants valued both in (complex) K -theory and in any complex-oriented cohomology theory which is K p ( n )-local for some Morava K -theory K p ( n ). We show that these invariants satisfy a version of the Kontsevich-Manin axioms, extending Givental and Lee's work for the quantum K -theory of complex projective algebraic varieties. In particular, we prove a Gromov-Witten type splitting axiom, and hence define quantum K -theory and quantum -theory as commutative deformations of the corresponding (generalised) cohomology rings of X ; the definition of the quantum product involves the formal group of the underlying cohomology theory. The key geometric input of these results is a construction of global Kuranishi charts for moduli spaces of stable maps of arbitrary genus to X . On the algebraic side, in order to establish a common framework covering both ordinary K -theory and K p ( n )-local theories, we introduce a formalism of 'counting theories' for enumerative invariants on a category of global Kuranishi charts.

Abstract:The open Gromov--Witten (OGW) potential is a function from the set of weak bounding cochains on a closed Lagrangian in a closed symplectic manifold to the Novikov ring. Existing definitions of the OGW potential assume that the ground field of the Novikov ring is either $\mathbb{R}$ or $\mathbb{C}$. In this paper, we give an alternate definition of the OGW potential in the pearly model for Lagrangian Floer theory which yields an invariant valued in the Novikov ring over any field of characteristic zero. We work under simplifying regularity hypotheses which are satisfied, for instance, by any monotone Lagrangian. Our OGW potential is defined in terms of an appropriate weakening of a strictly cyclic pairing on a curved $A_{\infty}$-algebra, which can be thought of as a version of a proper Calabi--Yau structure. Such a structure is obtained by constructing a version of the cyclic open-closed map on the pearly Lagrangian Floer cochain complex. We also explain an analogue of our construction in de Rham cohomology, and show that it recovers the OGW potential constructed by Solomon and Tukachinsky.

Abstract:We have developed a Green's function formalism based on the use of an overcomplete semicoherent basis of vortex states, specially devoted to the study of the Hamiltonian quantum dynamics of electrons at high magnetic fields and in an arbitrary potential landscape smooth on the scale of the magnetic length. This formalism is used here to derive the exact Green's function for an arbitrary quadratic potential in the special limit where Landau level mixing becomes negligible. This solution remarkably embraces under a unified form the cases of confining and unconfining quadratic potentials. This property results from the fact that the overcomplete vortex representation provides a more general type of spectral decomposition of the Hamiltonian operator than usually considered. Whereas confining potentials are naturally characterized by quantization effects, lifetime effects emerge instead in the case of saddle-point potentials. Our derivation proves that the appearance of lifetimes has for origin the instability of the dynamics due to quantum tunneling at saddle points of the potential landscape. In fact, the overcompleteness of the vortex representation reveals an intrinsic microscopic irreversibility of the states synonymous with a spontaneous breaking of the time symmetry exhibited by the Hamiltonian dynamics.

On the unraveling of open quantum dynamics

Abstract:It is well known that the state operator of an open quantum system can be generically represented as the solution of a time-local equation -- a quantum master equation. Unraveling in quantum trajectories offers a picture of open system dynamics dual to solving master equations. In the unraveling picture, physical indicators are computed as Monte-Carlo averages over a stochastic process valued in the Hilbert space of the system. This approach is particularly adapted to simulate systems in large Hilbert spaces. We show that the dynamics of an open quantum system generically admits an unraveling in the Hilbert space of the system described by a Markov process generated by ordinary stochastic differential equations for which rigorous concentration estimates are available. The unraveling can be equivalently formulated in terms of norm-preserving state vectors or in terms of linear ``ostensible" processes trace preserving only on average. We illustrate the results in the case of a two level system in a simple boson environment. Next, we derive the state-of-the-art form of the Diosi-Gisin-Strunz Gaussian random ostensible state equation in the context of a model problem. This equation provides an exact unraveling of open systems in Gaussian environments. We compare and contrast the two unravelings and their potential for applications to quantum error mitigation.
