Abstract:The authors consider the problem of conformally deforming a metric such that the k-curvature defined by an elementary symmetric function of the eigenvalues of the Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor on a compact manifold with boundary to a prescribed function. A consequence of our main result is that there exists a complete metric such that the Monge-Ampère type equation with respect to its Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor is solvable, provided that the initial Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor belongs to a negative convex cone.

Abstract:To study the prescribed $k$ -curvature problem of 2nd-order symmetric curvature tensors on complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds, we consider a class of fully nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations. It is proved that on a Riemannian manifold with negative sectional curvature and Ricci curvature bounded from below, the equation is solvable provided that all the eigenvalues of the tensor are negative. The result is applicable to the prescribed $k$ -curvature problems of modified Schouten tensor and Bakry–Émery Ricci tensor.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the geometry of compact complex manifolds with Levi-Civita Ricci-flat metrics and prove that compact complex surfaces admitting Levi-Civita Ricci-flat metrics are Kähler Calabi-Yau surfaces or Hopf surfaces.

Abstract:Let Mn(n ≥ 4) be an oriented compact submanifold with parallel mean curvature in an (n + p)-dimensional complete simply connected Riemannian manifold Nn+p. Then there exists a constant δ(n, p) 2 (0, 1) such that if the sectional curvature of N satisfies $${\overline K _N} \in \;\,\left[ {\delta \left( {n,p} \right),\;1} \right]$$, and if M has a lower bound for Ricci curvature and an upper bound for scalar curvature, then N is isometric to Sn+p. Moreover, M is either a totally umbilic sphere $${S^n}({1 \over {\sqrt {1 + {H^2}} }})$$, a Clifford hypersurface $${S^m}({1 \over {\sqrt {2(1 + {H^2})} }})\; \times \;{S^m}({1 \over {\sqrt {2(1 + {H^2})} }})$$ in the totally umbilic sphere $${S^{n+1}}({1 \over {\sqrt {1 + {H^2}} }})$$ with n = 2m, or $${\mathbb{C}{\rm{P}}^2}\left( {{4 \over 3}\left( {1 + {H^2}} \right)} \right)$$ in $${S^7}({1 \over {\sqrt {1 + {H^2}} }})$$. This is a generalization of Ejiri’s rigidity theorem.
On a type of Static Equation on Certain Contact Metric Manifolds

Abstract:This paper deals with the investigation of $K$-contact and $(\kappa,\mu)$-contact manifolds admitting a positive smooth function $f$ satisfying the equation: $$f\mathring{Ric}=\mathring{\nabla}^2f$$ where $\mathring{Ric}$, $\mathring{\nabla}^2f$ are traceless Ricci tensor and Hessian tensor respectively. We proved that if a complete and simply connected $K$-contact manifold admits such a smooth function $f$, then it is isometric to the unit sphere $\mathbb{S}^{2n+1}$. Next, we showed that if a non-Sasakian $(\kappa,\mu)$-contact metric manifold admit such a smooth function $f$, then it is locally flat for $n=1$ and for $n>1$ is locally isometric to the product space $E^{n+1}\times S^n(4)$.

On a metric symplectization of a contact metric manifold

Abstract:In this article, we investigate metric structures on the symplectization of a contact metric manifold and prove that there is a unique metric structure, which we call the metric symplectization, for which each slice of the symplectization has a natural induced contact metric structure. We then study the curvature properties of this metric structure and use it to establish equivalent formulations of the $(\kappa, \mu)$-nullity condition in terms of the metric symplectization. We also prove that isomorphisms of the metric symplectizations of $(\kappa, \mu)$-manifolds determine $(\kappa, \mu)$-manifolds up to D-homothetic transformations. These classification results show that the metric symplectization provides a unified framework to classify Sasakian manifolds, K-contact manifolds and $(\kappa, \mu)$-manifolds in terms of their symplectizations.

Metrics of Positive Ricci Curvature on Simply-Connected Manifolds of Dimension $6k$

Abstract:A consequence of the surgery theorem of Gromov and Lawson is that every closed, simply-connected 6-manifold admits a Riemannian metric of positive scalar curvature. For metrics of positive Ricci curvature it is widely open whether a similar result holds; there are no obstructions known for those manifolds to admit a metric of positive Ricci curvature, while the number of examples known is limited. In this article we introduce a new description of certain $6k$-dimensional manifolds via labeled bipartite graphs and use an earlier result of the author to construct metrics of positive Ricci curvature on these manifolds. In this way we obtain many new examples, both spin and non-spin, of $6k$-dimensional manifolds with a metric of positive Ricci curvature.

Abstract:In 1972, K. Kenmotsu studied a class of almost contact Riemannian manifolds. Later, such a manifold was called a Kenmotsu manifold. This paper, we studied Kenmotsu manifolds with $(2n+s)$-dimensional $s-$contact metric manifold and this manifold, we have called generalized Kenmotsu manifolds. Necessary and sufficient condition is given for an almost $s-$contact metric manifold to be a generalized Kenmotsu <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://manifold.We" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> show that a generalized Kenmotsu manifold is a locally warped product space. In addition, we study some curvature properties of generalized Kenmotsu manifolds. Moreover, we show that the $\varphi $% -sectional curvature of any semi-symmetric and projective semi-symmetric $% (2n+s)$-dimensional generalized Kenmotsu manifold is $-s$.

Abstract:In this paper we study the class of compact Kahler manifolds with Ric(perpendicular to) > 0. First we illustrate examples of Kahler manifolds with Ric(perpendicular to) > 0 on Kahler C-spaces, and construct ones on certain projectivized vector bundles. These examples show the abundance of Kahler manifolds which admit metrics of Ric(perpendicular to) > 0. Secondly we prove some (algebraic) geometric consequences of the condition Ric(perpendicular to) > 0 to illustrate that the condition is also quite restrictive. Finally this last point is made evident with a classification result in dimension three and a partial classification in dimension four.

Abstract:It is provided an overview of existed results concerning classification of contact metric, almost cosymplectic and almost Kenmotsu $(\kappa,\mu)$-manifolds. In the case of dimension three it is described in full details structure of contact metric or almost cosymplectic $(\kappa,\mu)$-spaces. The second part of the paper addresses three-dimensional paracontact metric and almost paracosymplectic $(\kappa,\mu)$-spaces. There is obtained local classification of paracontact metric $(\kappa,\mu)$-spaces, and almost paracosymplectic $(\kappa,\mu)$-spaces, for every possible value of $\kappa$.

Abstract:We study manifolds endowed with mixed metric 3--contact structures, proving that the distribution spanned by the Reeb vector fields is integrable, with totally geodesic integral manifolds, of constant sectional curvature $k=\pm1$. Abstract:A generalized metric on a manifold $M$, i.e., a pair $(g,H)$, where $g$ is a Riemannian metric and $H$ a closed $3$-form, is a fixed point of the generalized Ricci flow if and only if $(g,H)$ is Bismut Ricci flat: $H$ is $g$-harmonic and $ric(g)=\tfrac{1}{4} H_g^2$. On any homogeneous space $M=G/K$, where $G=G_1\times G_2$ is a compact semisimple Lie group with two simple factors, under some mild assumptions, we exhibit a Bismut Ricci flat $G$-invariant generalized metric, which is proved to be unique among a $4$-parameter space of metrics in many cases, including when $K$ is neither abelian nor semisimple. On the other hand, if $K$ is simple and the standard metric is Einstein on both $G_1/\pi_1(K)$ and $G_2/\pi_2(K)$, we give a one-parameter family of Bismut Ricci flat $G$-invariant generalized metrics on $G/K$ and show that it is most likely pairwise non-homothetic by computing the ratio of Ricci eigenvalues. This is proved to be the case for every space of the form $M=G\times G/\Delta K$ and for $M^{35}=SO(8)\times SO(7)/G_2$. A Corrigendum has been added in Appendix A.

Abstract:Quasi-contact metric manifolds (introduced by Y. Tashiro and then studied by several authors) are a natural extension of contact metric manifolds. Weak almost-contact metric manifolds, i.e., where the linear complex structure on the contact distribution is replaced by a nonsingular skew-symmetric tensor, have been defined by the author and R. Wolak. In this paper, we study a weak analogue of quasi-contact metric manifolds. Our main results generalize some well-known theorems and provide new criterions for K-contact and Sasakian manifolds in terms of conditions on the curvature tensor and other geometric objects associated with the weak quasi-contact metric structure.

Abstract:This paper aims to classify a certain type of three-dimensional complete non-Sasakian contact manifold with specific properties, namely and admitting Ricci–Bourguignon solitons. In the case of constant , the paper proves that if the potential vector field of the Ricci–Bourguignon soliton is orthogonal to the Reeb vector field, then the manifold is either Einstein or locally isometric to E (1, 1). Under a similar hypothesis, the paper shows that a -contact metric manifold is locally isometric to E (1, 1). Finally, the paper considers the scenario where the potential vector is pointwise collinear with the Reeb vector field and presents some results.
