Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the umbral representation of the Fubini polynomials $F_{x}^{n}:=F_{n}(x)$ to derive some properties involving these polynomials. For any prime number $p$ and any polynomial $f$ with integer coefficients, we show $(f(F_{x}))^{p}\equiv f(F_{x})$ and we give other curious congruences.
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on the study of the properties of Fubini polynomials and their generalized forms, especially on deriving some properties of these polynomials by using umbra notation. Specifically, the paper focuses on the following aspects:
1. **Congruence relations of Fubini polynomials**: For any prime number \(p\) and polynomial \(f\) with integer coefficients, the paper shows the congruence relation \((f(F_x))^p\equiv f(F_x)\) and presents some other interesting congruence relations.
2. **Identities of Fubini polynomials**: The paper derives some identities involving Fubini polynomials by the umbra method, and these identities are helpful for further understanding the properties of these polynomials.
3. **Properties of generalized Fubini polynomials**: The paper defines the generalized \((r, s)\)-Fubini polynomials \(F_n(x, r, s)\) and studies the properties of these polynomials, including their relationship with the absolute \(r\)-Stirling numbers.
4. **Properties of polynomial roots**: The paper proves that for non - negative integers \(r\geq0\), \(s\geq0\) and \(n\geq1\), the polynomial \(F_n(x, r, s + r)\) has only real and non - positive roots.
5. **Generating functions and logarithmic relations**: The paper also studies the generating functions of Fubini polynomials and derives some logarithmic relations through these generating functions, for example:
\[
\log\left(1+\sum_{n\geq1}\frac{F_n(x; r, s)}{s!}\frac{t^n}{n!}\right)=(r+(s + 1)x)t+(s + 1)(x + 1)\sum_{n\geq2}\frac{F_{n-1}(x)}{n!}t^n
\]
6. **Applications of congruence relations**: The paper also explores the congruence relations of some specific polynomials, for example:
\[
\sum_{k = 0}^{p-1}f^{(k)}(x + 1)^{p-1-k}x^k\equiv f(F_x)
\]
where \(f\) is a polynomial with integer coefficients.
In conclusion, by in - depth study of the properties of Fubini polynomials and their generalized forms, this paper provides a series of new identities and congruence relations, and these results have important application values in combinatorial mathematics and number theory.
