Abstract:We study the existence and the distribution of "long" chains in the Weihrauch degrees, mostly focusing on chains with uncountable cofinality. We characterize when such chains have an upper bound and prove that there are no cofinal chains (of any order type) in the Weihrauch degrees. Furthermore, we show that the existence of coinitial sequences of non-zero degrees is equivalent to $\mathrm{CH}$. Finally, we explore the extendibility of antichains, providing some necessary conditions for maximality.

Abstract:We investigate extrinsic wormholelike twist defects that effectively increase the genus of space in lattice versions of multicomponent fractional quantum Hall systems. Although the original band structure is distorted by these defects, leading to localized midgap states, we find that a new lowest flat band representing a higher genus system can be engineered by tuning local single-particle potentials. Remarkably, once local many-body interactions in this new band are switched on, we identify various Abelian and non-Abelian fractional quantum Hall states, whose ground-state degeneracy increases with the number of defects, i.e, with the genus of space. This sensitivity of topological degeneracy to defects provides a proof of concept demonstration that genons, predicted by topological field theory as exotic non-Abelian defects tied to a varying topology of space, do exist in realistic microscopic models. Specifically, our results indicate that genons could be created in the laboratory by combining the physics of artificial gauge fields in cold atom systems with already existing holographic beam shaping methods for creating twist defects.
Maximal chains in lattices from graph associahedra: Tamari to the weak order

Abstract:In this paper, we study the maximal chains of lattices which generalizes both the weak order and the Tamari lattice: certain lattices of maximal tubings. A maximal tubing poset $\mathfrak{L}(G)$ is defined for any graph $G$, but for the graphs we consider in this paper, the poset is a lattice. Just as the weak order is an orientation of the $1$-skeleton of the permutahedron and the Tamari of the associahedron, each tubing lattice is an orientation of the $1$-skeleton of a graph associahedron. The partial order on $\mathfrak{L}(G)$ is given by a projection from $\mathfrak{S}_n$ to $\mathfrak{L}(G)$. In particular, when the graph is the complete graph, the graph associahedron is the the permutahedron, and when it is the path graph, it is the Stasheff associahedron. Our main results are for lollipop graphs, graphs that ``interpolate'' between the path and the complete graphs. For lollipop graphs, the lattices consist of permutations which satisfy a generalization of $312$-avoiding. The maximum length chains correspond to partially shiftable tableaux under the Edelman-Greene's Coxeter-Knuth bijection. We also consider functions defined analogously to Stanley's symmetric function for the maximum length chains and find their expansion in terms of Young quasisymmetric Schur functions.

Abstract:We introduce a family of toric algebras defined by maximal chains of a finite distributive lattice. Applying results on stable set polytopes, we conclude that every such algebra is normal and Cohen–Macaulay, and give an interpretation of its Krull dimension in terms of the combinatorics of the underlying lattice. When the lattice is planar, we show that the corresponding chain algebra is generated by a sortable set of monomials and is isomorphic to a Hibi ring of another finite distributive lattice. As a consequence, it has a defining toric ideal with a quadratic Gröbner basis, and its h -vector counts ascents in certain standard Young tableaux. If instead the lattice has dimension , we show that the defining ideal has minimal generators of degree at least n .

Abstract:We prove that every flat chain with finite mass in $\mathbb{R}^d$ with coefficients in a normed abelian group $G$ is the restriction of a normal $G$-current to a Borel set. We deduce a characterization of real flat chains with finite mass in terms of a pointwise relation between the associated measure and vector field. We also deduce that any codimension-one real flat chain with finite mass can be written as an integral of multiplicity-one rectifiable currents, without loss of mass. Given a Lipschitz homomorphism $\phi:\tilde G\to G$ between two groups, we then study the associated map $\pi$ between flat chains in $\mathbb{R}^d$ with coefficients in $\tilde G$ and $G$ respectively. In the case $\tilde G=\mathbb{R}$ and $G=\mathbb{S}^1$, we prove that if $\phi$ is surjective, so is the restriction of $\pi$ to the set of flat chains with finite mass of dimension $0$, $1$, $d-1$, $d$.

Abstract:We construct a family of one-dimensional (1D) quantum lattice models based on $G$-graded unitary fusion category $\mathcal{C}_G$. This family realize an interpolation between the anyon-chain models and edge models of 2D symmetry-protected topological states, and can be thought of as edge models of 2D symmetry-enriched topological states. The models display a set of unconventional global symmetries that are characterized by the input category $\mathcal{C}_G$. While spontaneous symmetry breaking is also possible, our numerical evidence shows that the category symmetry constrains the the models to the extent that the low-energy physics has a large likelihood to be gapless.

Abstract:We complete the study of characters on higher rank semisimple lattices initiated in [BH19,BBHP20], the missing case being the case of lattices in higher rank simple algebraic groups in arbitrary characteristics. More precisely, we investigate dynamical properties of the conjugation action of such lattices on their space of positive definite functions. Our main results deal with the existence and the classification of characters from which we derive applications to topological dynamics, ergodic theory, unitary representations and operator algebras. Our key theorem is an extension of the noncommutative Nevo-Zimmer structure theorem obtained in [BH19] to the case of simple algebraic groups defined over arbitrary local fields. We also deduce a noncommutative analogue of Margulis' factor theorem for von Neumann subalgebras of the noncommutative Poisson boundary of higher rank arithmetic groups.

Abstract:Let n be a positive integer, and let (sigma = {sigma _i mid i in I}) be a partition of the set of all primes. It is shown that every law of the lattice of all formations is fulfilled in the lattice of all n-multiply (sigma )-local formations of finite groups. This result implies that the lattice of all n-multiply (sigma )-local formations of finite groups is modular but not distributive for any nonnegative integer n. Let ({mathfrak {F}}) and ({mathfrak {H}}) be n-multiply (sigma )-local formations of finite groups such that ({mathfrak {H}} subseteq {mathfrak {F}}). Denote by ({mathfrak {F}} /_n^sigma {mathfrak {H}}) the lattice of all n-multiply (sigma )-local formations ({mathfrak {M}}) such that ({mathfrak {H}} subseteq {mathfrak {M}} subseteq {mathfrak {F}}). If ({mathfrak {M}} subset {mathfrak {F}}) and the lattice ({mathfrak {F}} /_n^sigma {mathfrak {M}}) consists of only two elements then ({mathfrak {M}}) is called a maximal n-multiply (sigma )-local subformation of ({mathfrak {F}}). In particular, we show that the image of the character map for both the p -adic Heisenberg and p -adic lattice vertex operator algebras contain infinitely-many non-classical p -adic modular forms which are not contained in the image of the algebraic character map.

Abstract:In this paper, we demonstrate that the lattice structure of a set of clusters in a cluster algebra of finite type is anti-isomorphic to the torsion lattice of a certain Geiss-Leclerc-Schröer (GLS) path algebra and to the $c$-Cambrian lattice. We prove this by explicitly describing the exchange quivers of cluster algebras of finite type. Specifically, we prove that these quivers are anti-isomorphic to those formed by support $\tau$-tilting modules in GLS path algebras and to those formed by $c$-clusters consisting of almost positive roots.

The relative class number one problem for function fields, II

Abstract:We establish that any finite extension of function fields of genus greater than 1 whose relative class group is trivial is Galois and cyclic. This depends on a result from a preceding paper which establishes a finite list of possible Weil polynomials for both fields. Given this list, we analyze most cases by computing options for the splittings of low-degree places in the extension, then consider the effect of these options on the Weil polynomials of certain isogeny factors of the Jacobian of the Galois closure. In one case, we use instead an analysis based on principal polarizations, modeled on an argument of Howe.

Semi-infinite construction of one-dimensional lattice vertex superalgebras

Abstract:We construct the Feigin-Stoyanovsky (combinatorial) basis in case of one-dimensional lattice vertex superalgebras $V_{\sqrt{N}\,\mathbb{Z}}$. Our proof is based on invariance of semi-infinite monomials linear span under action of corresponding Heisenberg algebra. Semi-infinite monomials are parametrized by natural generalization of Maya diagrams $\unicode{x2013}$ Fibonacci configurations on $\mathbb{Z}$, which allows us to construct a desired basis with character considerations. We also discuss some related questions such as functional realization of basic subspace's dual and representational proof of Feigin-Stoyanovsky construction in case of $V_{\sqrt{2}\,\mathbb{Z}}$.
