Abstract:The problem to find an upper bound for the regularity index of fat points has been dealt with by many authors. In this paper we give a lower bound for the regularity index of fat points. It is useful for determining the regularity index.

Abstract:We prove invariant of the regularity index of fat points under changes of the linear subspace containing the support of the fat points. Then we show that Segre's bound is attained by any set of s non-degenerate equimultiple fat points in $\mathbb P^n$, $s\le n+3$. We also give an example showing that there always exists a set of n+4 non-degenerate equimultiple fat points in $\mathbb P^n$ such that Segre's bound is not attained.

Abstract:We control the number of critical points of a height function arising from the Nash isometric embedding of a compact Riemanniann-manifoldM. The Ln/2 curvature norm ∥R∥ and a similar scalar ∥R∥ are introduced and their integralR(M) andR(M) overM. We prove thatR(M) is bounded below by a constant depending only onn and the Betti numbers ofM. Thus a new sphere theorem is proved by eliminating allith Betti numbers fori = 1, .…n −1. The emphasis is that our sphere theorem imposes no restriction on the range of curvature.

Abstract:Let $m \ge n$, $\phi_{n,m}: \mathbb P^n \to \mathbb P^m$, $\phi_{n,m}(a_1, \ldots, a_n)=(a_1, \ldots, a_n, 0, \ldots, 0)$, be the embedding, $Z=m_1P_1+\cdots+m_sP_s$ be fat points in $\mathbb P^n$ and $\phi_{n,m}(Z)=m_1\phi_{n,m}(P_1)+\cdots+m_s\phi_{n,m}(P_s)$ be fat points in $\mathbb P^m$. We show the relation between the regularity index, Hilbert function of the fat points $Z$ and the regularity index, Hilbert function of the fat points $\phi_{n,m}(Z)$.

Abstract:We prove the Trung's conjecture about Segre's upper bound for s equimultiple fat points not on a linear (r-1)-space, s\le r+3, by algebraic method used in [3]. This method also may used to research other cases of fat points.

Abstract:We prove that for a compact Finsler manifold M with nonnegative weighted Ricci curvature,if its first closed(resp.Neumann)eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian attains the sharp lower bound,then M is isometric to a circle(resp.a segment).Moreover,a lower bound of the first eigenvalue of Finsler-Laplacian with Dirichlet boundary condition is also estimated.These generalize the corresponding results in recent literature.

Abstract:In this paper we give a lower bound on the waist of the unit sphere of a uniformly convex normed space by using the localization technique in codimension greater than one and a strong version of the Borsuk-Ulam theorem. The tools used in this paper follow ideas of M. Gromov in [4]. Our isoperimetric type inequality generalizes the Gromov-Milman isoperimetric inequality in [5].

Counting Rational Points In Non-Isotropic Neighborhoods of Manifolds

Abstract:In this manuscript, we initiate the study of the number of rational points with bounded denominators, contained in a non-isotropic $\delta_1\times\ldots\times \delta_R$ neighborhood of a compact submanifold $\mathcal{M}$ of codimension $R$ in $\mathbb{R}^{M}$. We establish an upper bound for this counting function which holds when $\mathcal{M}$ satisfies a strong curvature condition, first introduced by Schindler-Yamagishi in \cite{schindler2022density}. Further, even in the isotropic case when $\delta_1=\ldots=\delta_R=\delta$, we obtain an asymptotic formula which holds beyond the range of distance to $\mathcal{M}$ established in \cite{schindler2022density}. Our result is also a generalization of the work of J.J. Huang \cite{huangduke} for hypersurfaces. As an application, we establish for the first time an upper bound for the Hausdorff dimension of the set of weighted simultaneously well approximable points on a manifold $\mathcal{M}$ satisfying the strong curvature condition, which agrees with the lower bound obtained by Allen-Wang in \cite{allen2022note}. Moreover, for $R>1$, we obtain a new upper bound for the number of rational points \textit{on} $\mathcal{M}$, which goes beyond the bound in an analogue of Serre's dimension growth conjecture for submanifolds of $\mathbb{R}^M$ .

Periodic boundary points for simply connected Fatou components of transcendental maps

Abstract:Let f be a transcendental map, and let U be an attracting or parabolic basin, or a doubly parabolic Baker domain. Assume U is simply connected. Then, we prove that periodic points are dense in the boundary of U, under certain hypothesis on the postsingular set. This generalizes a result by F. Przytycki and A. Zdunik for rational maps. Our proof uses techniques from measure theory, ergodic theory, conformal analysis, and inner functions. In particular, a result on the distortion of inner functions near the unit circle is provided, which is of independent interest.

Abstract:For the product $S_1\times S_2$ of any two connected compact hyperbolic surfaces $S_1$ and $S_2$, taking advantage of a classification of self-homeomorphisms of $S_1\times S_2$, we give a finite bound $\mathcal {B}$ such that for any self-homeomorphism f of $S_1\times S_2$ and any fixed point class $\mathbf {F}$ of f, the index $|\mathrm {ind}(f, \mathbf {F})|\le \mathcal {B}$, which is an affirmative answer for a special case of a question asked by Boju Jiang. Moreover, we also give bounds for the Lefschetz number L(f) and the Nielsen number N(f) of the homeomorphism f.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove an upper bound on the $\widehat{A}$ genus of a smooth, closed, spin Riemannian manifold using its scalar curvature lower bound, Neumann isoperimetric constant, and volume. The proof of this result relies on spectral analysis of the Dirac operator. We also construct an example to show that the Neumann isoperimetric constant in this bound is necessary. Our result partially answers a question of Gromov on bounding characteristic numbers using scalar curvature lower bound.
