Abstract:We show the existence of Hölder continuous periodic solution with compact support in time of the Boussinesq equations with partial viscosity. The Hölder regularity of the solution we constructed is anisotropic which is compatible with partial viscosity of the equations.

Abstract: We show the existence of H\"{o}lder continuous periodic weak solutions of the 2d Boussinesq equation with diffusive temperature which satisfies the prescribed kinetic energy. More precisely, for any smooth $e(t):[0,1]\rightarrow R_+$ and $\varepsilon\in (0, \frac{1}{12})$, there exist $v\in C^{\frac{1}{12}-\varepsilon}([0,1]\times {\rm T}^2), \theta\in C^{2,\frac{1}{12}-\varepsilon}([0,1]\times {\rm T}^2)$ which solves boussinesq equation in the sense of distribution and satisfies e(t)=\int_{{\rm T}^2}|v(t,x)|^2dx, for all t\in [0,1].

Abstract:In this paper, we study the partial regularity of the solutions for the three-dimensional Boussinesq equations. We first prove a criterion of local Hölder continuous of the suitable weak solutions of the Boussinesq equations, and show that one-dimensional Hausdorff measure of the singular point set is zero. Secondly, we present a local uniform gradient estimate on the suitable weak solutions and assert that the local behavior of the solution can be dominated by some scaled quantities, such as the scaled local L3-norm of the velocity. Besides, when the initial data v0 and θ0 decay sufficiently rapidly at ∞, the distribution of the regular point set of the suitable weak solutions is also considered. Based on it, one can find that MHD equations are more similar to Navier–Stokes equations than Boussinesq equations. Finally, we give a local regularity criterion of the suitable weak solutions near the boundary.

Abstract:In this paper, we describe several stationary conditions on weak solutions to the inhomogeneous Landau-Lifshitz equation, which ensure the partial regularity. For certain class of proper stationary weak solutions, a compactness result of the solutions, a finite Hausdorff measure result of the t -slice energy concentration sets and an asymptotic limit result of the Radon measures are proved. We also present a subtle rectifiability result for the energy concentration set of certain sequence of strong stationary weak solutions.

Abstract: The current paper is devoted to the investigation of the global-in-time stability of large solutions for the full Navier-Stokes-Fourier system in the whole space. Suppose that the density and the temperature are bounded from above uniformly in time in the Holder space $C^\alpha$ with $\alpha$ sufficiently small and in $L^\infty$ space respectively. Then we prove two results: (1). Such kind of the solution will converge to its associated equilibrium with a rate which is the same as that for the heat equation if we impose the same condition on the initial data. As a result, we obtain the propagation of positive lower bounds of the density and the temperature. (2). Such kind of the solution is stable, that is, any perturbed solution will remain close to the reference solution if initially they are close to each other. This shows that the set of the smooth and bounded solutions is open.

Abstract:In this paper we establish the asymptotic stability of steady solutions for the Boussinesq systems in the framework of Cartesian product of critical weak-Morrey spaces on , where . In our strategy, we first establish the continuity for the long time of the bilinear terms associated with the mild solutions of the Boussinesq systems, i.e., the bilinear estimates by using only the norm of the present spaces. As a direct consequence, we obtain the existence of global small mild solutions and asymptotic stability of steady solutions of the Boussinesq systems in the class of continuous functions from to the Cartesian product of critical weak-Morrey spaces. Our techniques consist interpolation of operators, duality, heat semigroup estimates, Hölder and Young inequalities in block spaces (based on Lorentz spaces) that are preduals of Morrey-Lorentz spaces.

Abstract:Studied here is an initial-boundary-value problem for the “good” Boussinesq equation on the half line. It is shown that this initial-boundary-value problem, when the initial-boundary-data satisfy certain compatible conditions, is well-posed in the L2-based Sobolev space Hs(R+) for s>12. In addition, the mapping that associated to appropriate initial-boundary-data the corresponding solution is analytic as a function between appropriate Banach spaces.
Long time existence for a class of weakly transverse Boussinesq systems

Abstract:We prove the existence on long time scales of the solutions to the Cauchy problem for a version of weakly transverse Boussinesq systems arising in the modeling of surface water waves. This system is much more complicated than the isotropic Boussinesq systems because dispersion is only present in the x-direction, leading to anisotropic eigenvalues in the linearized system. This anisotropic character leads to loss of y-derivatives for the solutions. To overcome this main difficulty our strategy is to symmetrize the system by introducing suitable good unknowns in the sense of [3].

Abstract:Here we construct infinitely many Hölder continuous global-in-time and stationary solutions to the stochastic Euler and hypodissipative Navier-Stokes equations in the space $C(\mathbb{R};C^{\vartheta})$ for $0<\vartheta<\frac{5}{7}\beta$, with $0<\beta< \frac{1}{24}$ and $0<\beta<\min\left\{\frac{1-2\alpha}{3},\frac{1}{24}\right\}$ respectively. A modified stochastic convex integration scheme, using Beltrami flows as building blocks and propagating inductive estimates both pathwise and in expectation, plays a pivotal role to improve the regularity of Hölder continuous solutions for the underlying equations. As a main novelty with respect to the related literature, our result produces solutions with noteworthy Hölder exponents.

Unique Continuation on A Line for the Helmholtz Equation

Abstract:In this article, local unique continuation on a line for solutions of the Helmholtz equation is discussed. The fundamental solution of the exterior problem for the Helmholtz equation have a logarithmic singularity which behaves similar to those of the interior problem for the Laplace equation in two dimension. A Holder-type conditional stability estimate of the proposed exterior problem for the Helmholtz equation is obtained by adopting the complex extension method in Cheng and Yamamoto [J. Cheng and M. Yamamoto, Unique continuation on a line for harmonic functions, Inverse Probl. 14 (1998), pp. 869-882]. Finally, a regularization scheme based on the collocation method is compatible with the Holder-type stability estimate provided that the line does not intersect the boundary of the domain for both the Laplace and the Helmholtz equations.

Abstract:We prove that the solution map for a family of non-linear transport equations in $\mathbb{R}^n$, with a velocity field given by the convolution of the density with a kernel that is smooth away from the origin and homogeneous of degree $-(n-1)$, is continuous in both the little Hölder class and the little Zygmund class. For particular choices of the kernel, one recovers well-known equations such as the 2D Euler or the 3D quasi-geostrophic equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the global well-posedness for the 3D Boussinesq equations. Firstly, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of the solution in critical space for small initial data. Then, aimed at the large initial data giving rise to global solution, we obtain a certain class of large solutions with initial data slowly varying in one direction. The proof relies on the special structure of the equation and some new refined estimates for the velocity and temperature.
