Abstract:We describe the full automorphism group of the directed reduced power graph and the undirected reduced power graph of a finite group. We compute the full automorphism groups of these graphs of several classes of finite groups. Also, we establish some relation between the automorphism group of the undirected reduced power graph (resp. the directed reduced power graph) and the automorphism group of the undirected power graph (resp. the directed power graph) of a finite group.

Abstract:We determine the quantum automorphism groups of finite graphs. These are quantum subgroups of the quantum permutation groups defined by Wang. The quantum automorphism group is a stronger invariant for finite graphs than the usual one. We get a quantum dihedral group D4.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate certain graphs defined on groups, with a focus on infinite groups. The graphs discussed are the power graph, the enhanced power graph, and the commuting graph whose vertex set is a group $G$. The power graph is a graph in which two vertices are adjacent if one is some power of the other. In the enhanced power graph, an edge joins two vertices if they generate a cyclic subgroup of $G$. In the commuting graph, two vertices are adjacent if they commute in $G$. We prove a necessary and sufficient condition for any two of these graphs to be equal. This extends existing results for finite groups. In addition, we show that the power graph of the locally quaternion group is isomorphic to the commuting graph of the locally dihedral group. Lastly, we also answer a question posed by P. J. Cameron about the existence of groups $G_1$ and $G_2$ both of whom have power graph not equal to commuting graph but the power graph of $G_1$ and the commuting graph of $G_2$ are isomorphic.

Abstract:The power graph of a group omega is a graph, whose node set is omega and two distinct elements are adjacent if and only if one is an integral power of the other. A metric dimension of a graph Gamma, denoted by psi(Gamma) is the minimum cardinality of the resolving set of Gamma. In this context, we study distant properties and detour distant properties such as closure, interior, distance degree sequence and eccentric subgraphs of the power graphs of certain finite non-abelian groups. As a consequence, we figure out the metric dimension and resolving polynomial of power graphs for dihedral and generalized quaternion groups by using neighbourhood and twin sets.

Abstract:The power graph of a group $G$ is a graph with vertex set $G$, in which two vertices are adjacent if one is some power of the other. In the commuting graph, with $G$ as the vertex set, two vertices are joined by an edge if they commute in $G$. The enhanced power graph of a group $G$ is a graph with vertex set $G$ and an edge joining two vertices $x$ and $y$ if $\langle x,y\rangle$ is cyclic. In this paper, we answer a question posed by P. J. Cameron, namely, if there exist groups $G$ and $H$ such that the power graph of $G$ is isomorphic to the commuting graph of $H$. We show that the answer is yes if $G$ is the generalised quaternion group and $H$ is the dihedral group. We also show that the enhanced power graph of the dicyclic group is isomorphic to the commuting graph of the dihedral group.

Abstract:We study the automorphism group of graphons (graph limits). We prove that after an appropriate "standardization" of the graphon, the automorphism group is compact. Furthermore, we characterize the orbits of the automorphism group on $k$-tuples of points. Among applications we study the graph algebras defined by finite rank graphons and the space of node-transitive graphons.

Abstract:Let G be a finite nonabelian simple group and let Gamma be a connected undirected Cayley graph for G. The possible structures for the full automorphism group AutGamma are specified. Then, for certain finite simple groups G, a sufficient condition is given under which G is a normal subgroup of AutGamma. Finally, as an application of these results, several new half-transitive graphs are constructed. Some of these involve the sporadic simple groups G J(1), J(4), Ly and BM, while others fall into two infinite families and involve the Ree simple groups and alternating groups. The two infinite families contain examples of half-transitive graphs of arbitrarily large valency.

Abstract:The monography examines the problem of constructing a group of automorphisms of a graph. A graph automorphism is a mapping of a set of vertices onto itself that preserves adjacency. The set of such automorphisms forms a vertex group of a graph or simply a graph group. The basis for constructing a group of graph automorphisms is the concept of orbit. The construction of an orbit is closely related to the quantitative assessment of a vertex or edge of a graph, called weight. To determine the weight of an element, graph invariants built on the spectrum of edge cuts and the spectrum of edge cycles are used. The weight of the graph elements allows identifying generating cycles and forming orbits. Examples are given of constructing a group of automorphisms for some types of graphs.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that the full automorphism group of the derangement graph $\Gamma_n$ ($n\geq3$) is equal to $(R(S_n)\rtimes\hbox{Inn} (S_n))\rtimes Z_2$, where $R(S_n)$ and $\hbox{Inn} (S_n)$ are the right regular representation and the inner automorphism group of $S_n$ respectively, and $Z_2=\langle\varphi\rangle$ with the mapping $\varphi:$ $\sigma^{\varphi}=\sigma^{-1},\,\forall\,\sigma\in S_n.$ Moreover, all orbits on the edge set of $\Gamma_n$ ($n\geq3$) are determined.

Abstract:Given a finite group G and an integer t , let G(φt/G) be the directed graph with vertex set G and directed edges g→gt,g∈G . We prove that nilpotent groups are precisely the class of groups yielding a special symmetry on the graphs G(φt/G) that has appeared several times in the literature (considering functions over various algebraic structures). We then explore the question on when two finite nilpotent groups yield the same digraphs as t runs over Z : this defines an equivalence relation ∼φ . We completely describe the set of integers M in which the relation ∼φ is equivalent to the isomorphism of groups when one restricts to the set of nilpotent groups of order M . Our proofs rely on arguments from number theory and combinatorics.

Abstract:In 1982, Durnberger proved that every connected Cayley graph of a finite group with a commutator subgroup of prime order contains a hamiltonian cycle. In this paper, we extend this result to the infinite case. Additionally, we generalize this result to a broader class of infinite graphs $X$, where the automorphism group of $X$ contains a transitive subgroup $G$ with a cyclic commutator subgroup of prime order.

On the functional graph of the power map over finite groups

Abstract:In this paper we study the description of the functional graphs associated with the power maps over finite groups. We present a structural result which describes the isomorphism class of these graphs for abelian groups and also for flower groups, which is a special class of non abelian groups introduced in this paper. Unlike the abelian case where all the trees associated with periodic points are isomorphic, in the case of flower groups we prove that several different classes of trees can occur. The class of central trees (i.e. associated with periodic points that are in the center of the group) are in general non-elementary and a recursive description is given in this work. Flower groups include many non abelian groups such as dihedral and generalized quaternion groups, and the projective general linear group of order two over a finite field. In particular, we provide improvements on past works regarding the description of the dynamics of the power map over these groups.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a finite group and construct a graph $\Delta(G)$ by taking $G\setminus\{1\}$ as the vertex set of $\Delta(G)$ and by drawing an edge between two vertices $x$ and $y$ if $\langle x,y\rangle$ is cyclic. Let $K(G)$ be the set consisting of the universal vertices of $\Delta(G)$ along the identity element. For a solvable group $G$, we present a necessary and sufficient conditon for $K(G)$ to be nontrivial. We also develop a connection between $\Delta(G)$ and $K(G)$ when $|G|$ is divisible by two distinct primes and the diameter of $\Delta(G)$ is $2$.

Abstract:In 1869, Jordan proved that the set $\mathcal{T}$ of all finite group that can be represented as the automorphism group of a tree is containing the trivial group and it is closed under taken direct product of groups of lower order in $\mathcal{T}$ and wreath product of a member in $\mathcal{T}$ and the symmetric group on $n$ symbols. The aim of this paper is to continue this work and another works by Klav$\acute{\rm i}$k and Zeman in 2017 to present a class $\mathcal{S}$ of finite groups for which the automorphism group of each bicyclic graph is a member of $\mathcal{S}$ and this class is minimal with this property.

Asymptotic enumeration of Haar graphical representations

Abstract:This paper represents a significant leap forward in the problem of enumerating vertex-transitive graphs. Recent breakthroughs on symmetry of Cayley (di)graphs show that almost all finite Cayley (di)graphs have the smallest possible automorphism group. Extending the scope of these results, we enumerate (di)graphs admitting a fixed semiregular group of automorphisms with m orbits. Moreover, we consider the more intricate inquiry of prohibiting arcs within each orbit, where the special case m = 2 is known as the problem of finding Haar graphical representations (HGRs). We significantly advance the understanding of HGRs by proving that the proportion of HGRs among Haar graphs of a finite nonabelian group approaches 1 as the group order grows. As a corollary, we obtain an improved bound on the proportion of DRRs among Cayley digraphs in the solution of Morris and the second author to the Babai-Godsil conjecture.

Abstract:In an earlier paper, the authors considered three types of graphs, and three equivalence relations, defined on a group, viz. the power graph, enhanced power graph, and commuting graph, and the relations of equality, conjugacy, and same order; for each choice of a graph type A and an equivalence relation B , there is a graph, the B super A graph defined on G . The resulting nine graphs (of which eight were shown to be in general distinct) form a two-dimensional hierarchy. In the present paper, we consider these graphs further. We prove universality properties for the conjugacy supergraphs of various types, adding the nilpotent, solvable and enhanced power graphs to the commuting graphs considered in the rest of the paper, and also examine their relation to the invariably generating graph of the group. We also show that supergraphs can be expressed as graph compositions, in the sense of Schwenk, and use this representation to calculate their Wiener index. We illustrate these by computing Wiener index of equality supercommuting and conjugacy supercommuting graphs for dihedral and dicyclic groups.

Abstract:The enhanced power graph $\mathcal{P}_E(G)$ of a finite group $G$ is the simple undirected graph whose vertex set is $G$ and two distinct vertices $x, y$ are adjacent if $x, y \in \langle z \rangle$ for some $z \in G$. In this article, we give an affirmative answer of the question posed by Cameron [6] which states that: Is it true that the complement of the enhanced power graph $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G)}$ of a non-cyclic group $G$ has only one connected component apart from isolated vertices? We classify all finite groups $G$ such that the graph $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G)}$ is bipartite. We show that the graph $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G)}$ is weakly perfect. Further, we study the subgraph $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G^*)}$ of $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G)}$ induced by all the non-isolated vertices of $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G)}$. We classify all finite groups $G$ such that the graph is $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G^*)}$ is unicyclic and pentacyclic. We prove the non-existence of finite groups $G$ such that the graph $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G^*)}$ is bicyclic, tricyclic or tetracyclic. Finally, we characterize all finite groups $G$ such that the graph $\bar{\mathcal{P}_E(G^*)}$ is outerplanar, planar, projective-planar and toroidal, respectively.
